  1. Give it time. I figure they'll eventually offer a discounted upgrade via Plugin Boutique. If not, it's their loss, not ours. It's not like there's a shortage of synths 🤣
  2. Total bargain for what you're getting, at $119. As jngnz points out, it's not all super deeply sampled. It's all slathered with fx which I usually pare back to hear the actual instruments. I am one of the people who really like the digital library... you get a lot here, and it's pretty usable, although it all feels a bit opaque. Nowadays I always reach for Keyscape because it's so much more deeply sampled, but I liked having this until I was willing to stump up for Keyscape.
  3. I normally use PayPal for everything but in this instance I used direct credit card payment to ensure the transaction went through, which it did. PayPal knows too much.
  4. Sup dawg, I heard you like drums. Well, BestService is beating their own prices on these beats. Get it on. Bang a gong. SD3 and all SDX have dropped in price from when the deal was first posted by trager at the start of March. I'd kept the tabs open the past few days after the Easter codes came out and I refreshed the page earlier, just in case, only to be rewarded with some extra sweet last minute price drops. I'm not sure how long these prices will last, but I'm guessing it won't be long. Superior Drummer 3 was $276 now $251.26 and use #CHICK20 code to get it down to $231.26 with 8.97 BestCoin towards your next order SDX Orchestral Percussion now $234, I didn't manage to capture exactly what it was previously but it was at least $20 more. After #CHICK20 and BestCoin from SD3 I got it for $205.48. SDX Value Pack was $322 down to $293 and use the #CHICK20 code to get it down to $273 minus whatever BestCoin you have. As I bought this after Orchestral Percussion, it brought the avg price for Rooms of Hansa, Hitmaker and Death&Darkness to $88 each, for a total of $264.91 and left me with 10.47 BestCoin for my next purchase. https://www.bestservice.com/en/sdx_value_pack.html https://www.bestservice.com/en/sdx_orchestral_percussion.html https://www.bestservice.com/en/superior_drummer_3.html
  5. I haven't tried the East West one. Between GForce, UVI, the XILS ones, Waldorf Streichfett I though it'd start looking like the same kind of overkill as my synth, reverb and delay collections if I picked that up... Lol. Yeah String Machine 2 in Vintage Vault. I find the presets are more produced whereas VSM 3 presets are all very basic like you're using the string machine directly with only the most basic envelopes and hardly any effects. There's a lot of samples but it's like a million variations on the same thing. VSM 4 seems like it might have a lot wider range with the new effects, but with only 200 new presets it seems they took a bit of a shortcut with this upgrade.
  6. I really liked VSM when I first got it, but I found I strongly preferred the sound of the string machines in UVI Vintage Vault.
  7. People complain about WUP but D16 wants upgrades for every product I've purchased from them. And when the products go on sale, the upgrade pricing doesn't. I guess if I'd bought them back in 2016 it might seem fine but since I've only picked them up gradually since 2020 it seems a bit rich. Just my 10c.
  8. Yeah I saw that and have tried playing with those, but with no reference to check against its impossible to know what it should sound like, which really limits the effectiveness. I probably should follow up with support - and see if there is any available under InMusic 🙂
  9. If anyone has and uses 8 bit kit, I'd love it if you could explain how to get it not to sound like hot garbage. I bought it during the last sale, along with Dark Farm, and its just... wrong. Only 3 presets, and they didn't even show up until I messed around with the location of files. And when I load any of the kits its just set up so poorly, with levels flat across the board, distorted as all hell, just sounds bizarre. There's no info online about how it should sound, so I have no idea if it's meant to sound like someone with a microphone who went insane made a bunch of weird sounding drum sounds and only half got them to work in BFD before deciding screw it, I'm done, let's put this up for sale.
  10. Was going to get 4 plugins. Demoed them first. Have no need for the transient fertiliser as yet. And the noise reduction one ended up adding weird artifacts. Ended up buying Skaka and Reamp though. Looking forward to having more of a play with them.
  11. This high Softube pricing has Overstayed its welcome, amirite?
  12. Hey folks, I've been testing this in comparison with the AudioRealism ReDominator, which is ostensibly an emulation of the same synth. Compared to this new TAL synth, the aging ReDominator looks its age and sounds... like a Cherry Audio Juno compared to the Softube version, in other words the AudioRealism lacks mojo! This new TAL looks and sounds great, and I'm going to struggle not to buy it, even though my synth coffers are already bulging. But, as the saying goes, there's always room at the top, and I'll happily make room amongst my VST folders for this one, even if I have to delete a few temp files. Here's what TAL has to say about it: https://tal-software.com/products/tal-pha TAL-Pha Release 15.02.2024 We are proud to announce the release of TAL-Pha. A very authentic Alpha Juno emulation with a lot of powerful additions. It's been a lot of work, but it's finally here. 20% intro discount! TAL-Pha TAL-Pha is an instrument plug-in that emulates the sound of the analog 80's synthesizer Alpha Juno II (MKS-50 is the rack version). The plug-in produces the classic analog sound, combined with modern flexibility and many additional functions. The plug-in can read and convert sysex information from the hardware and can also be used as a controller. Authentic emulation of the 80's hardware synthesizer. Resonance boost for filter self-oscillation. The possibility to detune, modulate, and sync the pulse part of the DCO. Simple but powerful FX section with delay, reverb, and a bell-eq. Arpeggiator with different modes. Stereo UNISON mode with up to seven voices. Aftertouch and MPE support. Microtuning support (tun file import and MTS Client). Original factory banks included. More than 380 fresh presets by Electric Himalaya, The Unfinished, Saif Sameer, emptyvessel and TAL. Individual tuning for every voice converts the synths DCO into a VCO. Reads Sysex files and Sysex MIDI from the hardware device. Can also control a hardware device. If enabled, it sends Sysex through the plug-in MIDI output (only possible when supported by the DAW). Requirements: Windows: Windows 7 or higher (64 bit host) macOS: 10.9 or higher (64 bit host). Universal Binary 2 with native Intel and Apple silicon support (M1, M2, M3...). AAX: Pro Tools 10.3.6 or higher (64 bit). LINUX: 64 bit / Ubuntu 18 or similar. Demo restrictions: The plug-in produces a rising white noise sound every minute.
  13. instead of wanting you to buy the whole thing again, check your upgrade price I have all but one of the amps, and I lack the cabinet collection, and my upgrade price is now only $39. Previously it was something silly like $149. Finally they listened! Nice work Softube.
  14. At that price I'm happy to buy it, even though I have the TAL, because I want to encourage Softube to do more of these kind of deals 😊
  15. I have arguably way too many delays. I'm a preset surfer and if they add something new to my toolbox I'm happy. MTurboDelay definitely added some new options. Way more weird creative out-there delays than I expected.
  16. First time it's been possible to get MTurboDelay this cheaply I think... I don't have any of the big plugins in this bundle (surprisingly). Great deal!
  17. Here's hoping they see the light and open it up for direct native sales ala Korg and UAD.
  18. Was that the New York Steinway D? It's the one I noticed sounded the most different, but I only compared 5 of the 11. I liked the new classical guitar voicing. It sounded more alive / authentic.
  19. Definitely AI generated. There's a suspiciously similar look to so many of them. Compare to Universal Audio's latest promotional material. Also if you zoom in on the screen the shapes don't even consist of straight lines or true circles, it's almost like it's hand drawn. Also there's what kind of looks like text but upon closer inspection isn't.

    Considering Bitwig

This requires the discipline to put a device like Birds MIDI cap on every new track or else. I am not that disciplined 🙂

    Considering Bitwig

Ableton Live 11 has LFO standard, I only got into Live with version 10 after coming from Reason then Reaper then FL Studio, and after upgrading to 11 jumped over to Bitwig before realising the drop in my creative output was due to Bitwig.

    Considering Bitwig

I'm a pretty simple user but what finally sent me back to Ableton Live recently was the lack of retrospective recording and the overall layout somehow being less creatively inspiring than Live.
  23. Me too. I missed the survey email when it came out and by the time I knew about it, the offer has closed. I think the update should be free, anyway.
  24. Merry Christmas everyone!
  25. If you're a pro then I guess the tools should pay for themselves. But if you're just a geeky amateur like me then you can wait for an especially good sale like the one they had in mid January 2022 when I picked up Neo Soul Keys for $49. I really only got it to satisfy the restless urge to be sure there wasn't a product out there better than I already had access to. If MKS Extreme ever drops to 49.99 or if the NSK expansions are discounted at 50% off these sale prices l will grab them too. But when it's the price they are currently I think to myself that money would be better spent on Keyscape which hasn't thus far been subject to repeated upgrades the way NSK has been over the years. I probably don't need to buy anything else ever haha. One of these days I'll get that through my thick skull.
