Thanks for replying, but I don't have an account, which is why I was asking.

how do you have Analog Lab if you don't have an account? You need the Arturia account and their software center to install updates and what not. Just create the account and enter your serial.

I think waiting until BF should be worth it. I dont  recall what the deal was for Analog Lab owners. But I do recall it was $99 to upgrade from vers 4 onwards.

I concur completely. Even $99 was too much for basically a Melotron. (CZ and Synthi? No interest in either.) Throw in the OB-Xa and the $99 at least becomes something I'd think about.

Wish they'd do more 'mainstream' offerings in the future, though I suppose their choices get limited once you start talking about ROMplers and other '80s-'90s synths that can't simply be emulated, they need actual copies of samples etc. that the companies still own. Korg and Roland aren't going to be in any rush to let them do an M1 or a D50 for example, as they both already sell (or rent!) their own VSTs of same.

i am still on V6. Had no interest in CZ or Synthi. I am sure OBx will be in the next deal. I still think its not really enough to justify an upgrade. I think mabe if they do some really cool and advanced things with a new ver of Analog Lab, then we are talking. Mayby if they some some combined sale of synths and effect, then that could also be interesting. But just to get 3 or 4 more retro synths -- not enough IMO.

They've had 2 sales where the upgrade price was $99, but for me that was still a bit much.
If they include the latest item (forget what it was) and they have a $99 sale later I might go for it.
That said.. $49 would be no brainer, $99 then it depends on what else is on my WannaBuy list.

the last one was OBx. i think i might wait a bit until v8 to upgrade. I don't think there is enough in there to warrant an upgrade yet.

The sale for individual items  is up on PB.

OK Im going to say it .. this thing is the

    DOGS PROVERBIALs :D

that thing almost made me go out and buy a MPC Live and dump Maschine. it was damn good and easy to use. need to find time to try this new  version.

yeah. thanks. i looked at that. i am just trying to decide is this is for me. i was looking to spend something at PB to get reason freebie and was hoping to spend it on something useful. this seemed to be the most useful deal so far. (i would have prefered RX standard deal).  i am just not sure if this is for me. i spend much more time sequencing and song structure. i don't spend endless hours perfecting a master. i have the IKM tracks stuff -- its fun to use, but i just use larrusem to give me a rough idea of what a mastered version will/could sound like.

That a big statement ...can we have per step modulation like in gehist or motu bpm ...?

i am a big maschine user. but the Akai software tends to get a little more towards a DAW than Maschine. it seemed to have features many Maschine useres have been complaining about lacking in Maschine. we shall see what 2021 brings. Rumors are abound that NI are turning Maschine into more of a DAW

Got the links straight away but still wonder if i need this as a maschine and geisht 2 owner

when i played with it, the MPC software was more advanced and more feature rich than Maschine.

It is also quite possible to get much more than just the "Brian May/Queen" sound from this gear.  Before we had presets I used it for one Queen tone then moved on and was getting a range of other useful tones that didn't sound like Brian but sounded great in their own way.  Same with the Satriani gear.  I'm not a shredder like that, so I immediately just go for other types of tones than the artists' tones with any of these packs.

That said, I would also like to see some more manufacturers hitting the AmpliTube Collections, um, collection.

i was using the free metal collection and got a lot of usable non-metal tones.

As much as I appreciate his playing, I always thought Brian May's tone was a bit boxy, and the presets seem to exaggerate that.

I sort of agree with this. But you have to admit, it's a very unique sound compared to standard fare of British blues rock tones.  The tones he got on the It's a Kind of Magic /Highlander soundtrack were very very good IMO.

I agree with this. That has always been the main appeal of Amplitube to me. I play my own music so nailing that We Are The Champions tone (lol) just isn't something that interests me. Even if it were my favourite band it wouldn't interest me, really.

my guess is this product is  targeted towards the middle aged dad guitar player rock & roll fan customer instead of the fans of the actual guitar amp and pedals. makes sense. good profitable market.

I have been able to get very good results with AT 4 by manually tweaking the amp sims in AT 4 core. Also started using the Mesa Boogie Mark VI a lot. Very cool hidden behind the scenes settings when you flip the amp to its back.
