Hope this is the right forum for a bug report.

Since the announcement of the new Sonar and NEXT products, the help in CbB has been broken, likely due to website refactoring.

How to reproduce: Open CbB, click Edit -> Preferences. Select any item in the left pane, and click the Help button on the lower left. Notice that the web page opened is https://www.cakewalk.com/, not the help page for the feature selected.

    Thanks and regards,

    Tim

Noticed and reported Jun 6m received an email claiming it was fixed on the 7th. I tested then and it worked OK. It still works for me. Edge is my default browser on Win10.

Could this be a caching problem?

The old Cakewalk website was renamed from www.cakewalk.com to legacy.cakewalk.com

  2. AFAIK iLok account creation is not automatic.

Some installers include the iLok License manager some don't. The link above is the current version.

But that is as far as plug-in developers go when it comes to creating iLok accounts.

You still would have to create an iLok account to use the license manager.

Companies use this account to deposit licenses. Alternately, they may supply a one-time activation code which allows you to create the license in your iLok account.

Here is a link to iLok account/password recovery https://help.ilok.com/faq_account.html#forgot_password

  3. Only used US English OSes my whole life.

Seen images of computers running other languagges but that is about the limit of my first-hand knowledge.

I learned about MS's use mklink in non-English Windows from an  old Cakewalk forum user who I believe was French-Canadian.

When it comes to performance penalties, I have not tested and do not recall reading any specifics but stuff like this tends to be cached by the OS so the performance penalty is almost zero.

There is one... if the background is orange, it's on. If it's grey, it's off.

The OP has a point about no indicator in the track view and there is no way to view the status of more than one track/bus without opening up the console view.

Track headers in the track view are pretty busy but having this on the strip where FX power button/label/open layout are located above the FX rack could be useful. Maybe a 3-way button (off, pre, post) and PC label or a mini version of the post/pre PC overload/Power from the track strip right next to the FX label.

    Moog was employee owned.

I wonder how the former owners feel about the deal.

Yeah, but as they're aging, I guess financial needs finally superseded certain aspects of product "integrity"?

I see a lot of young employees in their videos.

More than that I really have no idea what "employee-owned" really means in this case. Kinda like "All Natural" on a bag of potato chips.

To the BFD3 users: is the plugin working well?

I have BFD Eco and have watched the various forums over the years and avoided buying the upgrade to BFD3 (it's  only $49 USD) due to so many reported issues, but figured when I see people consistently reporting that it's working I will probably pick it up. The last thread I saw here, some users reported  that it works fine while others still had problems.

    It works OK

If you like BFD Eco, full BFD is more of everything.

To me, BFD has always held the preeminent position in audio quality among drum plug-ins but struggled in every other regard.

I seriously doubt inMusic is going to allow BFD to thrive, but they may give it enough oxygen to keep the "Open for Business" sign light. I say may because inmusic/BFD got off to a pretty bad start.

     Remove post information wrong.

    thanks

    ...

I'll leave the following for future reference, the information may be useful, but this has nothing to do with the OP's question.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AFAIK, the RealTek ASIO driver, while not suitable for DAW, does not affect other ASIO drivers.

The recommendation to remove drivers from the ASIO registry entry:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ASIO

is an expedient to prevent GENERIC ASIO drivers from interfering with the DAW discovery process of factory ASIO drivers.

There should be at most one ASIO driver for each audio device. When a device has a factory ASIO driver installed, a generic ASIO driver appears as a second and possibly conflicting configuration for the same hardware.

The concern here is the buy out and possibly of vaporware.

The product exists so not really vaporware

    BUT

if past is prologue, bug fixes and innovation are pretty much over.

It's hard to make MAGIX look good but inMusic has figured out a way.

Get the Total Bundle like me and rest assured.

    Until they release another plug-in.

Funny, the total bundle in 2012 was almost the same price it is today with a slightly different mix of plug-ins.

Returning customer discount + intro price is often better than resellers if you own the total bundle or have otherwise purchased all their stuff. The discount gets even deeper if you rope in a few new users.

  10. Maybe

There are two "buses" being referenced

    1. The title asked about the "Master" bus and this bus is no different than any other. All buses have a ProChannel.
    2. The body of the OP asks about the "Main" bus. Not sure exactly what this is. If this is a bus like the "Master" bus and resides with the rest of the buses then yes, it has a ProChannel. If this is about the Main in its own section in the Console view (not visible in the track iew) then no, this does not have a ProChannel.

If one wants a ProChannel between the Master bus and the Mains create it in the bus section, point the new bus to the Mains and the Master bus to the new bus.
