  1. In addition to indicating the default editor for a MIDI clip, it is a menu to select the default editor for the clip.
  2. The feature in CbB that comes closest to this is the Matrix View.

Well I have an image in my head but it may be different than what you are describing. The last time I messed with floating views was a few years ago and then just to see how they looked in SONAR. I prefer to work views docked using the view shortcuts, D and SHIFT-D to manage the views in the multidock. If there have been any optimizations to Windows visual effects in System Properties performance options, they may be messing with CbB. AFAIK, practically no testing is done on Win7. Development and testing shifted to Win10 years before CbB.
  4. Keep a copy of the original tracks. I have not tried but you may be able to duplicate the track before rendering the melodyne clips and archive the duplicate.
  5. Have not used sf2 format for some time. sforzando is a free sfz player that has a built-in sf2 converter tx16wx claims to read sf2
  6. Assuming input echo is enabled on the audio tracks, it seems everything has been verified except audio from the interface to the PC. Does the interface have a software mixer? It may help to know what audio interface is in use.
  7. Skip installing the add-ons if you wish. They may be added at any time. Since you are have the Melodyne 4.1 installer there will never be a need to to mess with the one bundled with CbB. No news from Celemony.
  8. None means what it always has, no MIDI input selected. The problem some run into is the interaction of input selection and input echo. When an instrument/MIDI track input is set to None and input echo is enabled the DAW, in order to echo something, changes the input to All Inputs > MIDI Omni. Once the input is changed it will not automatically revert back to NONE when input echo is turned off. This is why some prefer to take complete manual control of input echo by disabling Always Echo Current MIDI Track in preferences. By default any synth capable of sending MIDI data has "Enable MIDI Output" turned on. There are a few places where the "Enable Synth Output" option may be viewed and edited: The insert synth options dialog The VST2/3 drop down in the standard header (see the "To enable VST MIDI input and output ports" section near the bottom of the page And in the synth rack where the option is available from the synth settings menu and the context menu for each synth found by right-clicking the synth in the rack. WRT the second issue. By default, the PRV displays all notes whether they have been muted or not. There is an option to hide muted clips in the PRV View menu but muted take lanes will appear regardless of this option. The fact the the drum MIDI data was muted at some point suggest that the kick may still be muted which may not be obvious by inspecting the data in the PRV.
  9. Importing MIDI into CbB strips tempo information. Imported MIDI data follows the project's tempo map. Opening MIDI files in CbB preserves tempo data.

Sounds like the OS or graphics driver needs an update.
  11. A driver issue is a good candidate. Cakewalk may appear to be shutdown because the UI is closed but the program is probably still running and waiting on a reply from a driver. The program should still be visible in the Task Manager.
  12. Yeah, if running Melodyne 4.2, the first thing to try is rollback to 4.1. If you do not have the 4.1 installer, contact Celemony support. They have been good about supplying the old installer.
  13. When the start screen was first released, I did not care for it so, I wrote a replacement. Mostly still use it instead of the start screen.
  14. You are correct. The setting was moved to a new location. It was pretty late last night when I first replied and only compared the SONAR preference page referenced in the OP to the current CbB page.
  15. Correct. The option you refer to is the one I linked in my post and it affects the Start Screen. The splash screen does not have a preference setting. AFAIK, it never has. There are some who rename or hack the Splash.dib to suit their needs but this is not recommended. Splash.dib in in the same folder as the executable, just like SONAR.
  16. The option is no longer in CbB. While I would not exploit the following... In SONAR Platinum when Show Start Screen was unchecked in preferences. ShowStartPage was set to 0 in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR\Platinum adding a REG_DWORD ShowStartPage set to 0 in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk\Core still works like Platinum. The option was moved, see
  17. Don't think so. There were quite a few threads when the feature came out and like this one, Noel posted the solution All, I did was reword his instructions and add a screen capture.
  18. It is a 32bit plug-in. I won't install it. Have you tried the 64bit 5 band Sonitus Multiband bundled with CbB?
  19. Your problem may be different, I sent you a PM.
  20. It is a little too subtle. I sent Jesse a PM suggesting he add a post the thread so that it stands out a little more. Usually when a hot fix comes along some one in one of the problem threads posts about the fix. Has yet to happen for this fix.
  21. Not sure about this I have no problems running X2a, X3e, several versions of Platinum and CbB on the same machine. What they all have in common are the shared utilities including the scanner. That said, there are a lot of PC setup permutations. Most are sufficiently similar to run relatively trouble free but there are exceptions. Often a hang on startup is a driver problem or a hidden windows dialog. The most recent thread on CbB hanging is here but your problem seems to be happening before this message.
