  1. I am sorry, I tried to reproduce the problem but it appears to work OK. I tried both enabling Follow Step Size (which ignores the % of note value and Randomize by settings) and disabling Follow Step Size with % of note value set to 100 and Randomize by set to 0. These should be functionally the same and they are for me. Have you tried running Step Record in basic mode with Follow Step Size enabled? To invoke Basic mode, click the Bas. button in the bottom right of the Step Record dialog.
  2. Fixed AFAIK, this is all Ben. Some issues may be addressed when and if the previously discussed factory supplied light theme (not Mercury) is created.
  3. If the file is actually missing, there are likely other parts of DP missing, Re-install the synth. If the file is on the PC, then it may not be where DP expects to find it. By default, DP looks in C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples for sfz and sample files. F5 refreshes the program browser (IOW it scans the folder in ProgramData where the .prog files are located), this won't make sfz reappear.
  4. I just download the 64bit version of DSK The Grand It comes as a zip file. I unzipped the file into C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins where it created a DSK The Grand - win64 folder Started CbB which is set to automatic background scan so, the new DSK plug-in was scanned. Created a new project, added the DSK The Grand with an instrument track and the plug-in worked OK. Which DSK plug-ins are a problem? In general, when a manufacturer supplies a 64bit version of their plug-ins, it is best to use them instead of the 32bit versions. Furthermore, retiring plug-ins that are only offered as 32bit is a good idea. The 32bit platform was old 10 years ago and support for 32bit plug-ins is practically non-existent. If a manufacturer has abandoned their plug-ins by not updating them to 64bit, that should tell the user something.
  5. The setting is intended to sound like a Wurlitzer electric piano.
  6. I fail to mention, stretching the audio clip. This may help too.
  7. The samples do not play all that long. You could try adding a compressor, automate the plug-in master volume, use volume automation on instrument or audio track or a combination of all three to create a more constant volume over time.
  8. Yes, it would. I suppose one could save the "Shared Presets" folder and export HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\ActiveMovie\Presets then try to integrate them into a new install or write a script to build the registry present entries from the contents of the shared presets folder. Either method may need to deal with the non-plug-in entries in the shared presets and the registry.
  9. As you have figured out CbB does not import MusicXML. What ever tool is generating the XML may have MIDI file generation built-in.
  10. Yes, they may be part of the Cakewalk preset manager system. These are also stored in the registry. There is an export/import process in the plug-in manager to handle them.
  11. Build 25.11.0.63 hotfix has been officially released
  12. Where were the dlls? It might help to post an image of your VST preferences page. If you cannot do that at least list your scan path and scan options settings.
  13. The Studio Instruments are bundled with CbB. No software is sold by BandLab, it is all free. Is this a new install of CbB or an upgrade from a previous version? Are there any old Cakewalk DAWs installed?
  14. Search in the plug-in browser, search on the hard drive or both?
  15. It is unlikely the update affected those plug-ins as they are a separate installer. By default those plug-ins are installed in separate folders starting with "SI-" under "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins" Do the folders exist and if so, there should be a dll in each folder? How did you determine the plug-ins were gone?
  16. Starting with 2019-09 CbB issues a notice 14 days before the application needs to be reactivated. From the use case described in the OP even if CbB lost its activation the program still works for existing playlists and project playback. When CbB is not activated the save function is disabled.
  17. I have never installed CbB on a machine with no prior version of SONAR. My understanding is there is an option to override the default location if there is no other Cakewalk DAW on the machine. If there is another Cakewalk DAW on the machine, CbB must be installed on the same drive. This is because there are shared registry entries containing folder locations. As mentioned above using directory junctions after the install should work OK.
  18. As mentioned above, this is for the plug-in tab in the browser not the plug-in manager. The plug-in manager is an external program. There are no functions for external programs in keyboard shortcuts. There is a keyboard accelerator for the plug-in manager in the Utilities menu - ALT+U+M.
  19. Make sure to install the latest hot fix. Links to it are posted here.
  20. They are the old "half rack" DX plug-ins from Project 5. They were ported to 64bit and bundled with SONAR. StudioVerb2 was dropped from X3. IIRC, MC6 was 32bit only so, it would not have the 64bit plug-ins.
  21. For those that don't have a version of Session Drummer (which was bundled with quite a few releases of SONAR), Sitala is pretty good too. Looks like an updated beta was recently released.
  22. Since you have Platinum - Session Drummer can play individual samples dropped on each drum pad or build sfz files to play multiple samples per pad. Dimension Pro and Rapture work in a similar way, drop samples in their elements and they are ready to play.
  23. Automation The video is very good. Maybe a little easier to follow than a printed description, if only because one can heard the results. Even though it was developed for X1 a lot if it is relevant to CbB. It is too bad they are not available today.
  24. One of my favorites I learned it from Craig's video series on X1. Glad it was added to the book.
