  1. The Command Center is useless for X3 and older products. It was developed for SONAR Artist/Professional/Platinum and newer products.

Without an SSO account accessing your Cakewalk purchases is a problem. PM @jon sasor [cakewalk], he may be able to help.

If you don't already have it, pick up the MFreeFXBundle

Commercial plug-ins like Auditory Tube Modulator, Eventide Instant Flanger and Valhalla UberMod may be worth a look.

For a convincing flange through zero effect (Itchycoo Park, Sky Pilot) @Craig Anderton provides the details using Sonitus Modulator in The Huge Book of Cakewalk By BandLab Tips. The best ITB flanging effect I have ever heard.

I remember with SPLAT installs that it would overwrite custom content like track icons I made. I don't recall if CbB does the same thing, but you might want to make sure that anything you created is backed up.

Track Icons like a lot of content are under product folders in Cakewalk Content so the CbB track icons by default are under "Cakewalk Core" like the Platinum icons are under SONAR Platinum.

For custom content where the folder is not exposed in Preferences like Track Icons, I create a folder under my customizations folder and create a directory junction in the default folder. This insures my custom stuff is never overwritten and simplifies syncing up machines because most of my customized content is in one directory tree.

I was testing some sounds of z3ta+ in cakewalk and noticed that some presets wouldn't play. After a while all of the sudden it seemed as if the entire audio engine stopped. Nothing played anymore. Other projects I've been working on wouldn't play either. All I heard was an occasional click. When I tested the sound in the windows settings , it worked fine.

It is hard to say from this if it is a driver or application issue. Windows audio does not use the ASIO driver. If possible toggle the audio interface off and on.

I have some problems with the firewire interface which doesn't work well with windows 10 I think. If I try changing the buffer size in the ASIO panel it's the blue screen of death with mostly an IRQ error.

This is likely a hardware/driver problem.

My cakewalk VST scan stops and says :

z3ta+ is risky do you want to enable this synth?

    Does your scan say that?

After enabling z3ta+ once, if that message appears again during a regular scan, the scan options are set up wrong. Disable the two "rescan option."

Often when a known good plug-in fails like this it is a symptom of a problem with a plug-in scanned before it. This is one motivation for the "Scan in Sandbox" option. This option is on reason to always scan from preferences and never scan from the Plug-in Manager.

  5. When input echo is off, setting input to None causes an instrument/MIDI track to ignore all MIDI data at it's input.

When input echo is on, the track must have an input to echo. If the input is set to None it reverts to All Tracks > Onmi.

I would like input echo off and disabled regardless of the "Always Echo Current MIDI Track" setting when the track input is set to None. But this is not how CbB works today.

I download bandlab assist.....I download cakewalk...(same page, different links)

    This is odd.

There is no direct download of Cakewalk by BandLab. It is downloaded, installed and activated with BandLab Assistant.

What 2 URLs were used to download BandLab Assistant and Cakewalk?

  7. In 2019.09 shortcut "W" changed slightly. From https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/topic/7164-201909-feature-overview/

    Quote

    Updated transport behaviors

    • Go to Start and Go to End buttons now accurately seek to project beginning and end, and do not stop playback.
    • The W (rewind) key always seeks backwards in time to the prior "landmarks". There are 3 landmarks:
      • the original playback start time
      • the loop start time
      • the project start time (time 0, or 1:1:0)

    Note:
The RTZ command has been renamed to Rewind to Landmarks
The Go to Beginning (1:1:0) command has been renamed to Go to Start (RTZ)
The Go to Start transport button uses the CTRL+HOME shortcut
