  1. There is no physical media for SONAR Platinum. Use Cakewalk Command Center to install and activate Platinum https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=Introduction.30.html#1435096 Use the XLN Audio Installer to download and activate AD2 Use your Celemony account to get the latest Melodyne installer After that follow these instructions to install and activate CbB https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Introduction.30.html#1521945
  2. ASIO is an audio driver specification. The better audio interface manufacturers provide drivers based on this specification for use with applications like Cakewalk that benefit from low latency drivers. Unfortunately, there is not a reliable ASIO driver for the sound chips integrated on PC motherboards. For PC sound chips the best driver modes in Win10 are the two WASAPI settings followed by WDM and finally MME. This is the best solution for low latency monitoring even if one has a good audio interface with an ASIO driver. Audio interfaces build for DAW use have a way to mix the signal coming from the DAW and their audio inputs for monitoring purposes. Without a dedicated interface, you will still need a way to get the signal out of the PC and maybe use the "audio in" on the TD-25 for monitoring purposes.
  3. The 2020.05 announcement post contains a link to the 2020.04 rollback installer.
  4. This is because you are logging into BandLab the website and not BandLab Assistant the Windows program. For detailed instructions on installing CbB using BA see http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Introduction.30.html#1521945
  5. There was a problem with all Eventide VST3 plug-ins crashing when interleave was changed. The 2020.05 release addressed the problem even though it was an Eventide issue. @tonemangler on June 8, Eventide released a fix for all their plug-ins including CrushStation.
  6. I believe this problem only happens when using the Advanced option from the Export module or File > Export from the menu. IOW using the old export dialog. Using the mp3 export option from the export module seems to work as expected. Adding ".mp3" explicitly to the file name in the old export dialog may avoid the problem too.
  7. Part new product announcement with intro prices and VM update to 2.0.25 From https://forums.cherryaudio.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1070
  8. There is a longstanding problem with dots in a file name. The ".mp3" extension is left off when the program creates an mp3 file so the file shows up with an unexpected file extension. To avoid this do not use dots in project names or export file names (other than the one used to separate the file name from the file extension) or make sure to add ".mp3" to the file name on export.
  9. BandLab Assistant and the legacy Cakewalk accounts have nothing to do with each other. Install Platinum first. If you cannot access your Cakewalk account contact support@cakewalk.com
  10. Depends on which version of SONAR Producer it is. This is a fairly detailed discussion about installing SONAR and CbB on a new machine (or in this case a new Win10 partition)
  11. Fixed. A few manufacturers support multiple devices sharing the same driver.

  13. Colors are theme dependent. In this image the first 2 are 64bit VST2 plug-ins the 3rd is a 32bit VST2 plug-ins the last is a DX plug-in
  14. If you cannot get a copy of his tool, there is one on my Google page called VST Inventory Tool It produces an html table which spreadsheet tools can parse.
  15. You'll get through it. Fortunately, machine swaps don't happen every day. Unfortunately, they happen so infrequently, it is difficult to remember how the build-out goes. I don't try to replicate my current setup. Instead, do the minimum and add as I go along.
  16. In this case, MIDI OX and CbB are essentially the same thing - applications that read and write a MIDI data stream. The plumbing to get data to and from the applications is not their concern.
  17. Paste special makes it pretty easy to duplicate a clip as many times as needed in one command.
  18. Depends on the installer. There are no options with Rapture WRT samples. They install with the plug-in but the sample library is very small. After install, delete the multisample folder and replace it with a directory junction to "real" folder. Sample-based plug-ins with larger libraries often have more sophisticated installers with alternate install paths and minimal installations.
  19. May want to rename the appdata folder too before re-installing
  20. It is in the full CbB installer The easiest way to get the full installer is uninstall CbB using BandLab Assistant The BREVERB 2 Cakewalk factory presets database is in C:\ProgramData\Overloud\BREVERB 2 Cakewalk I am not sure if that folder is deleted during the uninstall. If it is left behind may want to rename it to insure a new folder and contents get installed. NOTE: C:\ProgramData is a hidden folder.
  21. Both windows and CbB need to run at the same sample rate When checking the Windows sample rate check the exclusive mode settings on the same screen Here is one way to get to the Win10 sound settings CbB sample rate for new projects and projects without audio is set in Preferences > Audio > Driver Settings The sample rate for projects with audio is set by reading one of the project's audio clip headers.
