  1. I do not use Waves plug-ins so I can only go by the information on their website and other sources. They have not supported VST2 in SONAR for years and never supported in CbB. Waves does not support mixing VST2 and VST3 formats. Waves is one of the few manufacturers supporting automatic VST2 to VST3 migration (probably because of the above). The migration settings are in CbB Preferences > File > VST Settings Might be worth testing on a copy of the project. In case anyone is curious why I brought all this up in a thread about FabFilter, see the OPs post before this one
  2. Use the VST3 version of the plug-in. The VST3 should have the host bypass function. Waves does not support VST2 format in CbB.
  3. Host bypass is a VST3 function. There is no comparable function available in the VST2 spec but some VST2 plug-ins implement an on/off feature or mix that may be automated.
  4. While there are differences between SONAR and CbB, the track inspector is not one of them. The modules displayed are stored per-project. Click the Display button (M below) to modify which modules are visible. for more info see http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Inspectors.3.html#1224480 Although the modules could be scrolled off screen too.
  5. I would not make that assumption. There are detailed instructions on the support site on how to perform a clean install of Cakewalk. Be aware step 9 will delete everything in the default VST2 location "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VSTPlugins" If there are any plug-ins in the folder that are not part of the CbB distribution, it may be a good idea to copy the folder somewhere safe before performing step 9 and copy them back after re-installing. If the clean install fails, contact support@cakewalk.com
  6. The synth was last updated in 2010. The installer has been modified several times since then. IIRC, one version integrated the expansion packs, and another was CCC compatibility. AFAIK, all full DP 1.5 installers install the same synth. The only content difference is the inclusion of the expansion packs. The most recent DP installer I have is 1.5.5.16, a three-part file from 2015. I am sure it came from CCC. I do not see this version in my account, but I do see several versions of DP in my account. The link works. The same installer should be in your Cakewalk account too in the Dimension Pro 1.5 link,
  7. Run a VST reset from preferences with "Scan in Sandbox" and "Generate Scan Log". If the plug-ins do not show up, review the scan log to confirm the plug-ins are getting scanned.
  8. Changing driver buffer size may make a difference. Look up the dropout code for resolution suggestions.
  9. I thought the DP expansion packs were rolled into the DP installers released for the CCC. The old expansion pack installers are still listed in the Cakewalk Knowledge Base https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013208/Free-Dimension-Pro-Expansion-Packs-1-3 or copy the old programs and samples from a previous install.
  10. Makre sure Preferences > Files> Folder Locations Templates actually points to the correct folder containing project templates. The default is "C:\Cakewalk Content\Cakewalk Core\Project Templates"
  11. I misread the OP. Try the smart tool Lasso select the notes with right-click drag then CTRL+click drag to adjust selection length
  12. Is "Show Note Durations in Drum Grid" enabled in the PRV notes menu? The name "drum maps" is a little misleading as the feature is a general-purpose tool for note labeling, translation and signal routing.
  13. dxshell is a DX to VST wrapper. It is not part of any Cakewalk distribution and is not all that reliable. Given Time/Pitch Stretch 2 is not a regular DX plug-in, it does not surprise me that it baffles dxshell. For years the 64bit version of the plug-in installed in the SONAR program folder. Prior to the new menu system the plug-in appeared in all 3 Process Effects "Sort by" layouts
  14. When a documented feature is missing it is likely the current Workspace does not have it. Either change to a workspace that has the feature, create your own workspace or set the workspaces to None.
  15. Yes, anything installed with 64bit SONAR will work with CbB. Most may be installed using the advanced install option. Some plug-ins such V-Vocal and certain effects bundled with Platinum require the appropriate DAW to be installed. When installing a legacy DAW (as opposed to plug-ins via an advanced install) it is critical that CbB be installed last. Failure to install CbB last will result in old "shared" binaries being used by CbB which will cause problems. For details see
  16. The program honors the scroll lock key Also editing may allow Now time to scroll offscreen depending on click behavior settings in the Track View options menu
  17. Audio Damage released their catalog of legacy products (synths and effects) for free too https://www.audiodamage.com/pages/free-and-legacy Well worth checking out.
  18. Add folders using the controls under the Media tab Navigate to the folder to add to the content menu drop down Once in the folder click the save location button (L) to save the location to the content menu drop down (C) Double-click (C) to change name in the content menu. For more info see http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Browser.03.html
  19. Fine by me, I did notice other core features in the spreadsheet. Time/Pitch Stretch 2 is an odd one. It installs the same as V-Vocal in that there is no separate option to get the binary. It installs in the program folder unlike any other plug-in and is only visible on older clip Process Effects plug-in menus (this looks like a new menu bug to me).
  20. I think @abacab missed it. Understandable, it is not a regular plug-in. Time/Pitch Stretch 2 was part of the SONAR core install and only appeared on the Clip Process Effect menu. Unfortunately, the new menu system does not pick up the plug-in.
  21. This usually means the program is for another synth. Rapture pro reads Rapture Pro, Cakewalk Sound Center, Dimension Pro and Rapture programs. Cakewalk Sound Center, Dimension Pro and Rapture can only read their own format. That is an important first step. If relying in installers, the older synths must be installed before Rapture Pro. Alternately, replacing the DP mutlisamples and "C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro" folders from the old machine works too. I have used the replace folder technique for years.
