All images in the video were generated using the BING Copilot image generator and were then animated in either Pika or Genmo. Thinking about it, they may have actually developed a great mastering tool. After all, unlike iZotope, Landr have required people to upload their music to their site for mastering and they also have been releasing the music. This means, they might have some deep learning embedded into the tool that can tell what works (distribution stats tracking what gets the most plays) and what doesn't (my distribution stats, for instance). With all the material uploaded to Landr, they will have had a huge archive for machine learning. I don't know if iZotope do this as their mastering is offline and not directly linked to distribution. Just a thought.

This might drag on as YouTube give the claimant 30 days to review the counter-claim and respond. Thanks everyone for your replies and suggestions. I will look into legally pursing any copyright infringement as it is something I feel very strongly about. I also happen to know a lawyer specialized in music copyright. So far, I don't even know who they are beyond the name FUGA. They have not responded to my counter dispute, and they have not even supplied the name or the piece or artist. YouTube says the piece has not been made publicly available.

That's what my friend's site has, but it doesn't seem to stop the 500+ fake accounts that are being opened every day.

I had hoped there were only good folk in this shaded corner of the web.

Do you happen to know how websites can defend against scammers signing up and spamming? I'm asking on behalf of someone who has seen their site swamped with spam which seems to get around all the security checks. We could message privately if you want.

First on SoundCloud, but privately. The link was then posted on this forum for others to hear the song in progress. I've never published on BandLab. The song had also already been sent to streaming services about a month ago with a scheduled release time of mid Feb. I release through Landr, so if there has been any theft, I have the song ID code ready. I tried Shazaming my track and got no hits, so I'm hoping that means it hasn't been ripped and uploaded under a different name. Jeeezzz the internet is full of pickpockets.

From what I understand of the article, the scammers might copy your song (literally rip it from the video) and then upload it to Spotify or whatnot, fake stream it, and collect pay that way, while at the same time shutting you out of any potential revenue from your performance. It's true that this won't matter much if your song doesn't make any money, but if they get one big earner from a million stolen songs, they can make a lot of money without ever making any music themselves....kind of like what Spotify does anyway. 😂

If I were BandLab, I would be extremely concerned about the feedback on FUGA. Don't do it with Bandlab? BabdLab should be looking into this.

What I find particularly worrying about this is that the song has only been shared using private links on this forum. If the scammers have indeed copied the song, it would have been done via that link. The fact the name on the dispute is FUGA also sets alarm bells ringing as that is the name of the royalty collection company that BabdLabs have apparently teamed up with (as someone previously posted on this forum). I'm going to have to delve deeper into this, and I'll keep you all up to date on the counter dispute with YouTube.

Had anyone had a copyright dispute against their own music while uploading to YouTube? I made a video for my OWN song and while trying to upload it to my YouTube channel I got a dispute warning from a company called FUGA. I've disputed it and I'm waiting for feedback. Has this happened to anyone else? Hold on a sec. This is the same FUGA that recently joined with Bandlab. I sure as hell hope they are not stealing music from people posting to this forum and copyrighting it as their own.

Crow Hill may not be able to so quickly. I saw on Instagram that they had a studio fire which burned up most of the equipment. I haven't kept tabs on how bad the damage is, but the studio looked gutted.

I was considering that. Only trouble is, my son is studying classical piano at the conservatory and many of the pieces he needs to practice use at least 77 keys. Thanks @mettelus I have seen some of those YouTube videos and the brand Blackstar came up a few times. Only problem with that, it isn't velocity sensitive. I'm wondering if there is any real difference between that brand and the cheap no-brand foldable keyboards you see on Temu such as below: 👇

I know that this is probably an insane question to ask on a musician board, but has anyone ever bought one of those foldable MIDI keyboards? The reason I ask is that my son is a piano student at conservatory and when we go on summer break, he often doesn't have access to a piano for weeks on end. I was considering a folding keyboard to take in the car so he could practice in the hotel room, or anywhere we stop. We have an upright piano in the house and a Casio semi-weighted keyboard which he uses in the evenings when it's late. I know the folded keyboards are unlikely to get anywhere near the performance of these, but it hope they are at least good enough for speed training. Any thoughts appreciated.
