  1. This is something I've been wanting for a long time. To simplify and streamline the overlay creation,  there could be an option added to the existing Articulations maps - "synchronize with piano keys", so once you have an articulation map assigned to a MIDI track the colors from the articulations will be overlayed on the keys.

  2. Would be great to have an option to have Global settings for everything adjustable, so you can set up everything - interface, all the options, screensets, workspaces as needed, and simply forget about them once and for all. Right now there are three different modes where stuff gets saved - per project, per workspace, global. You can make your favorite screensets  in the basic template just to discover everything is gone when some older project is loaded.  Or make custom buttons and forget they are saved in the Workspaces and not per project. For those who would like to have everything staying always the sameno matter the project, such Global Settings option would be handy.

  3. Would be great to have an option to have folders be AUX tracks if needed - with all the benefits of a real aux tracks such as working  ProChannel, automation and plugins. I picture a menu option "treat folders as AUX" and then when you put any track into such AUX folder its output automatically gets routed to the folder's input. And  once removed from folder it outputs to the default output again.

    Sorry, cannot reproduce:

I think I have figured this out and I believe it is a bug. Everything does work correctly just like on your video UNLESS you have an open Piano roll window in the troublesome screenset. Try to do the same now with  Piano roll on the screenset without tempo track but with arranger track present. Arranger track diappears every time you switch from tempo map screenset.

Screensets, project templates and workspaces have no information saved as to how the tempo track should be displayed (i.e. its size & visibility).

Here's how to reproduce the bug:

Start with the supplied Advanced template, it has both Arranger and Tempo tracks

    Hide the Tempo track

Switch to second screenset, it will have Tempo track displayed again.

Enlarge the tempo track like on my screenshot

Switch back to the first screenset - Arranger track will be gone there.

We've updated the stock templates / workspaces to reflect this, but you'll need to re-save any of your custom screensets, templates or workspaces in 2021.04 to ensure they're updated.

It doesn't matter if I use my old template (resaved of course) or take a new one as a starting point, once I switch between workspaces OR screensets one of which has the tempo map displayed and the one doesn't, the arranger track on the one that doesn't have tempo map disappears like on my screenshot above.

  7. I'm not sure if it's a bug or something weird with my system - I cannot save the basic template anymore. I'd like to make some changes to this template that I have loading on startup, pick Basic.cwt to overwrite, press Save, the save window closes as if everything is good, however the file doesn't get overwritten, it's still the old one with the old modification date. If I delete it before saving it gets saved correctly, it just won't overwrite.

Is it possible to do "Crescendo" and "Diminuendo" for CC value with "Slow Curve", "Fast Curve"?

If you think of it, that would be actually a great idea to allow dynamic ranges of CC data within  articulation maps. Like allowing to choose start and end values which will be changing over time within the drawn articulation. Easy drawn , copyable  and scalable pitch bend up/down events, easy velocity fading and so on. Would be cool, goes way beyond articulation switching.

So you need to make sure they're selected if moving stuff.

How to I select them with a clip? For instance I have many separate clips on a MIDI track and would like to rearrange some of them within the same track? Right now it seems impossible without destroying their respective drawn articulations.

  10. Wonderful articulation maps implementation , so easy to edit and at the same time so deep and logical, thank you so much. Would be great to also have a non-modal articulation editing window in the future so you could use MIDI learn without a MIDI keyboard just by clicking on Piano roll notes or notes within a VST instrument.

  11. Quote

Define your Sequence: C1 - Legato, D1 - Vibrato, etc, save it as Preset, You can create for different Vendors/Instruments a new one. And it works perfect and efficient.

Can you please explain your workflow using Step Sequencer as articulation switcher? Let's say I have a melody line in Pianoroll done, and now I'd like to put C1 switch  before some notes in the middle of the line, and a few others to have a  D1 switch before they start. How could Step Sequencer  be of help here?

  12. Would be so nice to have this feature added that Reaper has - allowing custom note names displayed right on the piano keys. Simply assign a shortcut, select a piano key, hit shortcut, name the note.  This naming map gets saved just for that midi track. This is so convenient with modern sample libraries that have zillions of articulation switches.

Another awesome feature would be allowing to have envelopes in the midi controller lanes. I know you can assign envelopes for MIDI  in the track view, but having and editing them right within Pianoroll controller lanes would be some next level stuff, so convenient.

  13. Just found a small annoying bug where the Arranger view wouldn't scroll with a touch scrolling in the track view on a touch screen. It zooms properly but stays frozen in place once finger scrolling is involved. Once scrolled with the regular bottom bar it jumps back in place. Hope it gets fixed in the next revision.
