  1. This is the Austrian Vegetable Orchestra . They are looking to get Bapu to join so they can add more flavor to the music . In addition to adding more flavor to the Music , they want the sole bragging rights as to being the only Vegetable Orchestra in The World with an Alembic Bass made solely out of Vegetables 😆 Kenny
  2. Just be careful ! after a few drinks you might think the watermelon is a backstage groupie . If you act on it then you may find yourself never ever getting invited to play or attend a barbecue For Life !!!! How do I know ? 😉 PS I like to buy Vegan sale foods at Grocery Outlet , cook them up and add sausages , chicken or beef to them ...It sure adds flavor ! Kenny
  3. For now let me stick with the two things you said that I brought out to the forefront . At the moment I do not feel comfortable to bring my guitar over to either of shops I have researched . I'm sure their work is fine but for now lets just say I choose to not mention their names because I do not want to throw shade at them as far as where they are located . The last few times I have been to a local Guitar Center in North Portland I got bad vibes ... I pull in the parking lot and there is broken glass from cars that had gotten broken into in broad daylight . Then there is a whole parade of guys and girls with bicycles walking while pushing a stuffed shopping cart ... Then all along the road is tent city ....and on weekends the general area is taken over for street racing ...Eff all That The last guitar tech that did fret work on one of my guitars was Jay Black ! who wound up being a Fender Custom Shop Luther . I can live with the low frets for now . My ES is somewhat of a rare guitar . It's a Gibson ,and at 42 years old in excellent condition it only needs a fret job . There were only 478 of them made in two years . I played one of the same model ES 175 almost 40 years ago and it has taken me 38 years to acquire the one I got .... Kenny
  4. Hi Steve ! The Few Video's of his I have seen were very good . He does the research and puts it out there as very easy to understand . Plus he seems OK with not trying to specifically change anybody's mind or force anyone over to his point of view . That I respect . all the best , Kenny
  5. This Duet was played by me tonight on a Great Guitar that only cost me peanuts . Whoa ! if I would have know the picture would show up that Big I would have spared you the Fugly !😄 It's too late Now ! Kenny
  6. "My Finnish May Be Bland" Poor Bapu ! He was so busy buying plugs and choice musical toys he forgot to pay up on his Finnish Sauna card membership ! As a result , now his Finnish may be Bland . Come Back soon Bapu ! We sure miss you ! Kenny
  7. 🤣 Ouch ! Hey Mon !! did I win ? did I win ? Kenny
  8. Hi Grem ! One thing is for sure ! there is no need to have a DNA test done on The Maury Show to determine if Howard Roberts is Jay Roberts father 😅 Impressive guitar playing ability in the first 30 seconds ? A must watch ...Yes !!! I would say so . Jay is demonstrating beyond a shadow of a doubt in those first 30 seconds how it is possible for a guitar player to overcome the limitations most guitar players hit as brick walls in their playing ... Having a full tank of gas in a car can give one the ability to go many places. The same applies to guitar and guitar playing . When a guitar player has practiced arduously to maintain a full tank of chops on hand . The guitar player will have earned the ability to have a lot of headroom concerning what technical augmentations they can add and pull off comfortably in their music and playing . I think it is important to mention three points here , 1 , These skills are a perishable resource . They must be maintained or they can be lost . (On the other side of the coin if you loose them you can always work to get them back ) . 2, The true gift of these hard won techniques are the key that will unlock ones ability to play the guitar expressively by granting the guitar player the freedom of getting out their own way . No longer will they be held back by themselves due to a lack of technique . 3, Once the realization presents itself that practicing these techniques will greatly aid in ones ability to play . One needs to decide on whether to focus on using these techniques for playing the guitar or enhancing ones own ability to play music on the guitar. Guitar playing and Music are sometimes two separate entities that carry their own deep satisfactions and rewards . Nice rapping with you ! Kenny Roberts Yeah Right! I wish 🤣
  9. OK ! Great! ! Get all the rest you can . Your gonna need it when you go to climb the highest peak in the land called Mt Super Chops ! Once you set out learning how to play this type of stuff on the guitar . You will find the need to be Bright eyed , bushy tailed and fit for duty ! OK soldier ! you have been given a top secret security clearance . You have also been given The Super Chops material ! This is no longer a drill ! Now drop and give me 50 ways to play an A Minor on the guitar with out repeating yourself . First while using a pick and then with out using a pick 😅 Kenny
  10. The Gibson ES 175 CC I bought a little over a year ago was a guitar I had wanted to own and play for 40 years . I got the ES at a good price because the frets were pretty low and the guitar needed a fret job . I personally don't like fret less wonder neck set ups so I start saving up the money to get the fret work done . Other than that one vintage wear and tear issue , the guitar itself is in great shape . 💪👄👍 His video hit the nail on the head when he mentioned often times Vintage Guitars need work done to them . Getting them playable for your personal playing preferences may involve costly repairs. Finding the right qualified person / shop to have the work done has been a real PITA . I did an extensive search and I may have found a shop in Portland OR to have the work done .... Yeah Great ...So Guess what ? So now that I have left Vintage Guitar Repair Purgatory !! I'm now in Vintage Guitar Repair Limbo ! A fret job in the shop I'm considering having the work done at costs right on the border just about North of $600.00 +. If I have to pay that much to get it done right OK ! I think I Ken Do It ! So I close my eyes, take a deep breath, click my cowboy boots three times , grab my ankles and whisper. I Ken do that 🫣 OK! so now I have taken all the time it took to raise the coin to get the work done . It still feels like I can't seem to win .... I live a few miles just outside of an area where many reputable stores and shops make the Local News almost nightly for repeated break ins, store vandalism and thefts .The repair shop is dead smack in the thick of all that ... Even though I have questioned the shop personal on the phone about how things are for the shop, the safety of the area , and parking . I have decided put the fret job on hold because I am not leaving my guitar anyplace with anyone for 2 to 3 months just to have the work done .... NO Ken DO I'm just not feeling the Love ! So on behalf of myself and my Vintage ES 175 . We are proud to have contributed and we gladly accept the Trophy for Our respectable Fifth Place finish in The Great Guitars that Suck to Own thread Kenny
  11. He talked about some issues I have going on with two of my best Guitars 😉 Kenny
  12. It's hard to believe I never heard of this guys son Jay Roberts till today . He showed up in a video feed on u tube !! Learn something new every day Here he is showing his version of Super Chops 1 Jays u tube page also has videos documenting his father Howard Roberts playing Via spoken interviews . Here's one . This is the link to Jay Roberts videos on u tube . I have poked around and I can say he has some good videos. https://www.youtube.com/@RobertsMusicInstitute/videos all the best , Kenny
  13. OK it is now time to share an experience of what happened too me where I'm not exactly proud of the experiences out come . away ... Having said that ! This one goes down as not being my brightest idea ! Back in the day I went full on fastest guitar slinger mode by entering into a fully one sided competition of fret board chops with a top call session guitarist in his own home and boy did I really pissed him off . When all was said and done this guitar hero got up off his chair and stood there there pointing his finger at the front door of his N.Y.C. home while commanding me in a forceful tone of voice to " Get the hell out of my house now " I'm not gonna put up with this $Hit in my own home " So I handed him back the 60's Fender Strat ! he played all "his" iconic guitar parts on from the song /recording Reeling In The Years and left . From that day onward for at least what seemed like a solid decade my phone stopped ringing..... It took me a real long time for the light bulb of that lesson to light up and fully take root. What did I eventually learn ? When you think your the fastest guitarist in the West. Don't go out and try to prove it to The World . Resist the temptation to prove your agility and prowess by fast drawing on your musical jam partners and collaborators. When you are playing music with people it is always possible they can help you because they may turn out to be an asset or even form a future alliance with you to help aid you in your musical career . The opposite effect can also be true which I happened to find out that day! It don't matter if you playing checkers , cards, bowling , golf or guitars ! Always tailor what you play on your instrument to complement their playing ! Learn from my mistake !!! 😢 Don't pull a "Kenny " !! Always let them win Kenny
  14. Yes it was Green ! IIRC This bowl of green sat right between another bowl filled with various multicolored vitamins and a bottle of Jack ! Times have sure changed ! Nowadays The Studios seem to keep all the good stuff hidden and out of plain sight . Kenny
  15. Old Joad ! Thank You for listening and your u tube comment ! Kenny
  16. If you want acknowledgment for all the injustices you have received here. You must first fill out all three pages of the proper forms. Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Kenny
  17. Hi all , I was searching for a Howard Roberts instructional book I had mentioned in Grem's topic on Howard Roberts . BTW I did find the Book in PDF form . While I was searching around I found this video I had done 12 years ago but did not post or share online ... I'm posting my performance now because I spent a lot of years playing a Howard Roberts styled guitar which to this day I still miss ( The H R Guitar is typically a full hollow body arch top with an oval sound hole instead of F Holes w a suspended floating neck pick up ) I'm posting this pictured here only because one can't tell what guitar I'm playing in the video In this video I'm playing my H R style guitar totally acoustic . I'm using a Zoom Q3 for both my video audio recording . I Hope you enjoy the sounds I'm playing here . As far as the The fugly goes I cant do anything much about it now since I have past my stay fresh date 😆 all the best , Kenny
  18. I studied with Barry Galbraith in the 70's . I was one of the last long term students he took on and I played in a guitar ensemble he formed for his top students. Barry had just as much "Musical Cred" as Howard Roberts .Most guitarists in the know consider Barry to be the East Coast Equivalent of Howard . Check out Barry's credentials https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Galbraith Wow !! I had no idea Super Chops went for so much money in today's market . 🥹 After I saw the price Amazon was selling it for I hunted down my PDF copy of Super Chops and found it 🥳 Say !I know a guy that can offer you a great deal at $235.95 😆 just kidding PM me....... maybe we can figure something out . I sold my Howard Roberts style guitar about a year and a half ago . Rather than invade this thread w my media I posted a pic and a video of my guitar in the E Minor Improvisation Thread Kenny

  20. With Transcribe not only can you speed up , slow down and transpose your material an octave higher or lower with musical accuracy. You can adjust the E Q to filter out the unwanted frequency's that mask the material you are looking to place under the musical microscope . If that and looping is not enough , you can also loop many of the instruction videos that are out there depending on format and view what the musician is playing at a speed where you can see exactly what is going on the guitar or keyboard ... I like to create 3 different speeds of a section of music I'm working on and export them one at a time and make a song / lick practice session where I can recombine them as one wave file or video to make an individual study of what whatever material I am working on .. Act Now ! Our operators are standing by , when you become one of the next 500 callers we will inform you of the art of sampling music in Transcribe. This hidden aspect of our application features the ability of Transcribe to export within a range of 24 semitones while you have Cakewalk open and running . Your Cakewalk Audio folder will thank me later! 😉 Kenny
  21. I have been listening to Howard Roberts since I was in my 20 's . One of the all time greats on Guitar . Hunt down his guitar method Super Chops ...That ought to keep you busy for the next 40 or 50 years Kenny
  22. Transcribe is my go to desert island music learning app . If I only had to have one app to rule them all it would be transcribe 🙂 Kenny
  23. 😆 When it comes to substantive junk , I think most people are not prepared to be stuck in between floors in an elevator with no apparent escape while becoming face to man junk with a genuine two fist-ted engorged throbbing shiny pole Even in the best of circumstances it can be a shock . I remember the first time I played strip poker way way out in the boonies at a farm . The farmers daughter told us we were one person short for a game so she dressed up her horse with a blanket some carrots and a saddle to let him play . He soon lost all his horse accessory's and carrots in the game . The farmers daughter did beat me also and after the horse got a good look at my shiny pole he spent the rest of the evening crying his eyes out into his oats and a bale of hay . I'm not entirely sure what happened . I was sure he had me beat in size but not in girth . So I figure her horse must have took a moment to read the ingredients on my pole ! This Massive Pole is all natural and contains the following ingredients . Purple Enchanting Nourishing Irresistible Simulations designed to satisfy the recipient Performing Erotic Nibbling s Infinitely Satisfying experiences of a Perfect Exotic Nibbling Impeccably Spectacular taste experience The Micro package thing is only a defensive counter measure I use to get people to step back and question Is this guy for real ! The Band Idea sounds interesting 😊 all the best , Kenny
  24. Hey Steve nice post but you spelt consensual wrong . Its spelled Kensensual 😁 Politely enthusiastic nostalgic initiates spellcheck . Kenny
  25. I did see your reply and I have actually thought about it . You mentioned Milo was invited at the establishment . I can tell you Milo is fine around people yet he is super protective of me and very reactive and extremely aggressive towards other dogs . I have been working on training him to Leave it alone .... This has been my cross to bear with him and I hope someday he gets the memo and learns to chill . He is great in all other areas and I hope the day comes when I can even bring him back to a dog park . Coffee at Beacock's sometime in the afternoon is more along the lines of what I can call a comfortable handle for a first time meet socially . 😆 I bet you were probably thinking I was trying real hard to insult you right ? Once again NO I did want to throw a Jab at you for all the times you came at me while I let it slide and turned the other check . The fact of the matter is I came up with the whole Micro Pecker Thing because every time I used the sauna at the health club I work out at all these old fart naked exhibitionists in the sauna would ask me why am I not naked ? How come you still got your sweat bottoms on . ect ect I'm straight and I'm not into all this dickey dickey look'y lou stuff these guys wanted to play with me . One day after one of them asked me same question . I motioned him to lean in a little closer , then I asked him to keep my little secret ... I told him I was damaged at birth . Instead of having a normal sized endowment I had a Micro Pecker 😆 He looked at me shocked and I said yeah it's true man ... Then every body in the sauna at that time leaned in and I told them all , "It s one thing to have to go through life with a Micro Pecker" . "It is a whole other thing to show the people around your package and remove all doubt 😉 In other News , You said in your other post that you are more of you in real life than you are here on the forum . OK I got it . Where I'm from people don't try so hard to Eff and play mind games with other people like they do around here in Vantuckey . Where I'm from Its more like what happens in real uncensored nature . While Bambi is out in the fields munching on a mound of grass Mama Lion is getting ready to pounce because she has cubs to feed . The people that met me in real life and took the time to get to know me a little will tell you I am not prey 😉 Kenny
