  1. Dumb question and not trying to derail here but can I open CbB files with Sonar X3?
  2. Glad you enjoyed Jack and Old Joad! Rock on.
  3. Certainly like when it all hits at 1:28, and I'm a sucker for wah, you know! And I really enjoyed the ending, well done! Timbo
  4. jack, this song is a time machine taking me way, way back. Loved what you did with the drums and your voice.

This is terrific! Loved the horns ...
  6. Hi folks, In the last year I started struggling with lyric ideas. Finally, it dawned on me to write some material based on aspects of artificial intelligence and it's effect on humanity. It's provided me with a few new songs. This song is different than the music I usually do - it's a song with a funny story. Please enjoy. Hopefully it brings a smile or two to some faces out there. Timbo PS Made the song image by going to a free AI image-generating site and asking it to make an image based on "robot radiant pearl" ...
  7. Tough one for me to explain. If I'm using SI - String Section's keyboard, can I record the midi that I'm playing with my mouse? Thanks, Timbo

  9. Thanks for the 2nd video John, I've never understood how to use channels and finally get it! Tim
  10. I enjoyed this Steve, didn't know what to think as I clicked on the link. You got a great sound on the bass guitar, how did you do it?
  11. I get that message when I try to mixdown to a file that already exists, and is already open in another application. That's what Mark was trying to tell you. If you can't figure out what has it open, then reboot and immediately mixdown and tell us if that doesn't work. Tim
  12. And me too (sort of), being born and raised in Montreal, I used to be completely bilingue. So Sylvain, if you saw it listed on the vst manager then it's got to be somewhere on the CbB "insert synth" or "synth rack" listing. Have you tried going through each entry on the list of VST3 plugs?
  13. Hi Sylvain, You may be looking for "Play" under the wrong name when you try to load it. Can you load the VST manager (probably not the right name either!) and find your plugin there, and note the name that it will appear under in Cakewalk? The VST manager is on the menu somewhere, and it's not the one that you find in Preferences. Alternatively, there's a way to find it in the Windows registry, but that's more complicated. Hope this helps, Timbo
  14. I've listened to that album at least a million times and always, always played it at maximum volume.
  15. I've read that Ronson did a lot of arranging and other production work on Spiders that Bowie didn't give him credit for, financial or otherwise. Although I'm a lifetime fan, it seems Bowie was all about Bowie. Ronson was a hell of a guitar player.
  16. You guys can really put out a tune! Wonderfully reminiscent of the Beatles, so happy! Timbo

    Zombie WOOF't

Loved what you did with that song, oddly I was showing my daughters that song a couple of days ago. Just wow!
  18. Thanks Glenn, so you're saying it doesn't matter. I was especially worried about the MIDIOUT2 and 3 entries ...
  19. Hi all, This list of devices seems to change from time to time. I have an AKAI Advance 49 connected as my MIDI controller, with a v1 Komplete Audio sound device, if that helps. Should I have any other Inputs and Outputs checked that aren't? Thanks! Timbo
  20. Hi, Judging by your user name, we're both born in '58 and it's tough to be our age sometimes. Maybe I'm wrong with my assumption but it seems logical. I'm often a "get off my lawn guy" and have had many issues with being a newly forged senior citizen and with issues with the young folk out there and their newfangled ideas but I try to learn. I think we're all a bit afraid as we move into a new version of paid Cakewalk. Saying that, it scares me that I can look over to my shelf and see the Cakewalk Home Studio 2004 box and M-Audio Audiophile 192 that were my best Christmas presents ever and that they started me off on this wonderful musical journey that we're all on. But I digress ... My family and I spent the afternoon at this amazing place called the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada (https://www.thedonkeysanctuary.ca/). It was an afternoon that I will never forget. Donkeys are incredible animals, less inbred than horses, and sensitive like you and I. Don't worry, we all say stuff that we want taken back. Timbo
