Q: How do you find out who loves you more, the wife or the dogs?

A: Lock them all in the garage while you do your recording and see who is still pleased to see you when you unlock the door.

Just read this to my wife. She was not impressed.

When I first started with IK products I bought the iRig UA 2015. I wanted a little bass amp emulator for my Android phone. That worked out well, I like the sound of the B15 on it (written in stone inside hardware - phone app is just to make adjustments).

I had always wanted the Miroslav collection since reading about it back when he created it (was fan of his bass playing in Mahavishnu Orchestra). I was amazed when I saw because I had bought the iRig UA that I could buy the full Miroslav 2 for $130 in 2017 as crossgrade with Jam Points.

Then because I'm frugal I went the Custom Shop route to buy SVX and Fender 1 so I had some decent amp sims for amps I would use.

Because of all the above steps I got to  the IK Buyer 101 level. Over on the Cantabile forum I defended the confusing IK marketing as something you can sort out and if you wait for sales you can get the products at very affordable prices. I posted a link to this thread there calling it a college level course on the Group Buy :D

BTW. Welcome to the Cakewalk forum.  Lot's of "interesting" people around here. And we can always use one more Doug.

Here's the email from PA...everybody's unused voucher was reset..

Apologies if you couldn't use your August Loyalty Voucher on August 31.

We screwed up and want to make up for it. Therefore we decided to reactivate all unused August Loyalty Vouchers until September 5 (11:59 PM California Time). This allows you to get the best deals during our current "Any Sale".

    Haven't decided yet...

Wow. I guess complaining to the man does pay off.

Have you checked out this preset in the factory library, a pad called "Restless Alchemist". Responds to velocity with a very nice response!

The layers are "Liquid Guitar" and "Analog Pad". So a nice plucked, almost harp-like attack, with a smooth pad finish... :)

    So like you said, "Heaven".

    That IS a lovely patch.

Thank you Doug!  That is going to be very handy.

I use FlexASIO all the time. Unlike other ASIO solutions, it allows multiple apps to use the sound device at the same time. I am not sure how it compares to other ASIO solutions in terms of latency though.

This will do a great job I am sure. It comes with a calibration file. Check if the price is right for you. It is from a Canadian store near Montreal.

Thanks for this. This will be my backup try if the Dayton Audio iMM-6 doesn't work. I wonder if it is the same mic in a different configuration?

Yeah- I keep forgetting Mac users exist (it did occur to me after I posted) -sorry!-  I tried other ASIO drivers but no luck- I could not find any i/o offered in Arc 3 except ASIO.  Supposedly the ASIO4ALL developer(s) are working on supporting multi hardware, and it is supposed to work with some devices (I got a beta released this Spring) but no joy for me.

You could try FlexASIO along with FlexASIO GUI. It allows you to specify different input and output devices and can be seen in ARC 3.

I ordered the following from Amazon:

Dayton Audio iMM-6 Calibrated Measurement Microphone for iPhone, iPad Tablet and Android,Black - $22.89 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ADR2B84/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

aceyoon Trrs Extension Cable 10ft / 3m 3.5mm Male to Female 4 Pole Aux Audio Cord Headphone Car Stereo Extender with Mic for Smartphone, Tablet, Speaker - $6.98 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B093715WVJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's an experiment.  If it doesn't work, I have another measurement mic I can use (but not calibrated).

Ordered one as well from Amazon.ca. Cost me CDN$ 33.96 with free shipping and no tax. Looks very promising.

  9. Question...I got the ARC 3 software thinking I could pick up the MEMS mic for cheap using Jam points. But shipping to Canada costs almost as much as the mic itself. I live close to the border and would normally ship it to a US address, but with the border still closed...

Any of you other Canadians have a source for a measurement mic that won't cost an arm and a leg?

Why is that not the case?  Every 1,000 gets you 1 freebie...you just don't get one for 25,000
participants...you WILL get the 24th freebie at 24,000.  You just won't get one AGAIN at 25,000!

But then there won't be any reason for that  home stretch rush to get that final freebie!!! As if we really needed it...

Wait, we were predicting how many free, dang it.  I meant that we'd hit 20K so I should have said 21 for my prediction... oops.

20K is 20 free so you were correct.

  13. Speaking of spreadsheets, I decided to tally the value of my group buy items and compare it to my total outlay. Here is where I stand today, and I have yet to pick five more items at the $199 level (though in reality, I have nothing above $99 that I can pick).

So my total discount so far is 93.64% off. Not too shabby at all.

I knew what he meant...but it has nothing to do with that...Komplete Kontrol...KK...Komplete Klassics Kollection...
It's about NI"s usage of the K's...and not the KKK.

Yes. I knew that too. Just me trying to be perverse. I was in no way trying to associate anyone with any organization.

I also attribute my comment to having watched O Brother Where Art Thou, the other night.
