Sugar Bytes: Artillery 2 ($29.50 in cart @JRRShop)(Maybe pricing mistake and it's taking 50% off the sales price in cart.

Audio Deluxe has it for $59.00 on sale from $119.00

    https://www.jrrshop.com/sugar-bytes-artillery

    Same with this one too:

SUGAR BYTES THESYS MIDI STEP SEQUENCER ($24.50 in cart instead of the $49.00 sale price it's listed at.

    https://www.jrrshop.com/sugar-bytes-thesys

Both of these are part of JRRShop's 50% off in cart campaign: https://www.jrrshop.com/add-to-cart-for-50-off.

Yep. An dI thought maybe it was something on that page that was broke, so I tried as many other ways as I could to get it in the cart... never happened.

They just don't want our money Doug!!

Well to be honest, they won't get my money, not because I don't like RA but because I already have everything in the Everything bundle. I was just adding another data point to yours, to let you know it wasn't just you.

  3. There is something strange with my upgrade path. I have Diamond plus a bunch of other plugins. My upgrade price to Horizon is $139 but my upgrade price to Horizon + Restoration + Saphira + NLS is only $75. I am assuming that there is no direct upgrade path from Diamond to Horizon. Perhaps Diamond is not a subset of Horizon but somehow adding Restoration Saphira and NLS to the pot makes it workable. The other weird thing is that the list price for Horizon is $3293 but the list price for Horizon + Restoration + Saphira + NLS is only $1781. Waves pricing is bonkers.

    Are you WUP to date?

Yup. But I just checked my version # and it is the latest. So it must have gotten updated when I updated Waves today.

This is the answer from the support...

The real funny thing about this is that the coupon was added to my cart automatically when I went to purchase Minipol. It wasn't like I was trying to use an expired coupon. And why would an expired coupon lead to an invalid serial. It does not make sense. If the coupon is expired, then don't allow a customer to use it.

Except the serial I got didn't work. Don't care too much as this thing sounds pretty bad.

I "bought" it twice. Neither serial worked for me either.

Oh, that's very generous. Any products from them you recommend?

It depends on the sound you want. I really like the Rain piano. There is a thread on VI-Control that has a really good discussion on the pianos. For some reason this forum won't let me link to it, but a Google search should find it quick enough.

You can also check out Simeon's videos on the Sampletekk pianos. Be aware though, that @Simeon Amburgey could make a piano strung with rubber bands sound good. YMMV.

Me neither. But @Steve K found their products useful.

The cynicism in that VI Control thread touched my nerves.

If you think VI-Control was bad,  check out the comments in this forum: https://audiosex.pro/threads/muze-instruments.58613/

Did @Steve K actually buy it? He just said that the deal appealed to his  sense of plugin gluttony, that it was a smorgasbord of sound. I have been to some pretty aweful smorgasbords in my time.

  9. Well, the top post may have helped a bit but there still are some who are ignoring the admonition, specifically certain preset sellers, one of whom has 5 posts on the first page alone. So I think something more is needed to make sure the forum rules are adhered to to make it fair for everyone.

em... more of an observation than a point. the ongoing discussion (elsewhere) has been primarily wrt to the visual arts but can be (is) equally relevant to the audio arts. it's hardly new with quite a few rabbit holes to go down, but the lines between AI / artist are becoming less clear and the question (for some of us) is the potential impact on the "value" or "meaning" of "art".

ya, not exactly a deal (same as quite a few other posts here 🙂) just happened to be on my radar this week.

Okay. I couldn't tell (still can't) if you were for or against generative tools like this. It is interesting to note that lemonaid.ai explicitly states:

Our tool is intentionally built to only output "starting seed" ideas, but by no means do we currently, or ever plan to create production ready tracks through the use of algorithms.

Music was made to be created by humans, and we think A.I. should only be used to help co-create in collaboration, never to replace us.

ah, the marketing... love the "AI" part.

    "mu·si·cian"

    noun

a person who plays a musical instrument, especially as a profession, or is musically talented.

    - Oxford Languages (Google)

someone who is skilled in playing music, usually as a job:

     - Cambridge Dictionary

a person who composes, conducts, or performs music

    - Wikipedia

    1. a person who makes music a profession, especially as a performer of music.
    2. any person, whether professional or not, skilled in music.

    - Dictionary.com

    ...

putting the infinite monkey theorem within reach given the latest advances in "AI", data science and computing power despite the math behind it

having some interesting discussions lately wrt to DALL.E, etc., the potential/inevitable impact of "AI" on music and the definition of "art".

Not sure I get your point. Can you expand?
