  1. Thanks for the reply Glenn.

but it seems to me that my suggestion would be much more

    efficient and elegant a solution.

i remember back in the analog days finishing sessions and writing down all the settings

of all the channel strips and it was boring and time consuming

..taking digital photos alleviated that somewhat

but attaching them to the project is the last step.

can it be that hard to implement?

  2. Hi all.

I find myself constantly taking phone pictures of my outboard gear..pre compressors etc

so that if i have to go back do additional guitars or vox i can

redial in my settings..   but its really tedious.

what i would like is the ability to upload the pics to my PC and then attach them to the track description section

then when i want to duplicate /recreate settings its just a matter

of looking in the track description not trawling thru my phone for the pic.

if this already exists ..where is it? coz i looked and couldnt find it

    thanks

  3. hello dont mean to hijack this thread but i have

a behringer x touch mini that i want to use only to manipulate vst eq/compressor etc

(not synths) but my problem is i can get it to work initially but

after a short period of time it ceases to work.

i have tried everything i can think of and spent many days /nights trying to figure it out

but with no success and i have given up on it....

but im wondering if your c4 mapper will be of use to me?

is this what its designed to do...

all i want is the 8 rotary pots to control vst plugs ..i dont care about transport

    looping or anything else.

    thanks

  4. thanks for the reply...

Heinz..i already have a midi controller but because i have a very smal studio

things come out only when necessary...i.e. the controller when i am mixing

sound absorbing panels and outboard gear mics etc when recording..but not enough room for both.

so i just want to move forward and back easily with the keyboard.

Scook..dont know what a CAL is but im gonna find out....thanks

  5. Thanks Noel that is the solution..works perfect.

the only improvement would be if i could drag the cursor in the arranger sections themselves and then hit control /play.

rather than moving the now time...never the less this is a good solution ...thanks

  6. yes that is a solution but still tedious and  not ideal ,definitely not conducive to work flow.

seems like a very round about and  laborious  way to solve a simple and obvious requirement

  7. thanks Colin but your suggestion is not practical.

say ive got vrs 1 going into chrs 3 which is different to chrs 1&2  (and further up the in the  timeline  )how would i set up markers or loop points to audition this.

to me its a drawback that i cant control playback in the way im suggesting when using the Arranger feature.

its tedious to wait for a 16 bar section to conclude in order to hear how it works with the next section.

    but thanks for your reply

  8. SO does that mean that you guys E.G are listening to your whole verse just to hear how it transitions into the chorus?

because thats what i have to do...

Sorry i sound frustrated its coz i am..i cannot work out how to manipulate the transport whilst

playing sections from the Arranger window without the whole thing stopping.

  9. yep thats it thanks.

now i want to know how to FF and REw whilst playing from the arranger window..everytime i try to move the transport playback stops and i have go back to the beginning of the Section

EG if i want to hear how section A sounds running into Section B i have to play the whole sect A i cant move the Transport towards the end of A   coz playback stops.

Ive been thru a bunch of Youtube tutorials but none mention this

  10. thanks for the replies..

i wonder if any of you can be bothered opening the default 16track template and time that.

its  one of the  templates  we all have access to.

i know sys specs will have something to do with it

but if we all open the same thing and time it maybe we can have a ball park comparison?

for me with Cakewalk at the start screen its 17sec until i can hit play..

what ive noticed is the most time consuming phase for all my projects is the "creating UI" step

  11. Hi all..

unless im mistaken the old Sonar used to boot up my projects quicker than  Cakewalk BB

now a typical project approx 24 tracks  maybe eq comp on most tracks /one or 2 delay/ rev busses

    Takes at least 45 sec

intel i7 860  samsung ssd  16gig ram..(same system i had when using sonar)

what are some your boot up times?
