  1. Hello.. I should be able to this right? Ive setup a new stereo bus routed my drum tracks to it..all good try to solo drum buss and bass track ...cant do it. its a setting somewhere but i cant work it out.. any help appreciated thanks OK so ive checked out some of my other mixes that use busses and i cant solo track and buss es with them either. that cant be right.. i want to solo my bussed drums with my unbussed bass (track) weird.
  2. yeah this is all good.. but its still a pain having to create drum maps.. hard to believe NI dont have them available
  3. thanks Canopus that is helpful but im wondering if there isnt something more direct like changing the PRV keyboard to display note numbers instead of note names or cliking a midi note with one of the tools etc. again it seems like this is something commonly encountered by people creating drum maps but no intuitive way of achieving it within Cakewalk. not very computery if have to go to the manual to find note numbers now, is it.
  4. Hi all.. still trying to create drum maps for Kontakt... my latest snag is finding out which note mumbers correlate to the note names. i can see the note names but cant get a display of note numbers.. any ideas?
  5. Exactly Bristol...and thats why in another post i have asked if anyone has KontaKt drum maps otherwise just go the long way around like others have suggested in this thread. Thanks
  6. yep roger that.. but with Kontakt the cymbals come thru the overheads and to have discrete control over their volume i need to bounce them out separately so being able to solo them in the midi track will be helpful
  7. OK think i worked that one out ..select key on keyboard (in PRV) then klik on one event with mute tool mutes all same events ..cool.. But what about the reverse ...soloing...how do i instead of muting a series of midi entries solo them? i cant find a solo tool
  8. hi all how do i do that without having to select all the kicks. if i had a drum map there is mute /solo ..but otherwise is there any way to ...say select the the midi note the kicks are triggered by and mute that note thereby muting everything it triggers
  9. Thanks Razor thats true..but its still easier to make changes with drum maps
  10. Hi all has anyone made any /know of where to download any Kontakt drum maps .. Abbey Rd Studio D etc thanks
  11. yep thanks slowly working it all out
  12. Thanks but that only applies to velocity changes as i make them...not what im looking for. i just want to klik on a midi note and hear it....simple
  13. yes ive looked but from memory (ive come back to cakewalk after long absence) there was a very easy way of just cliking a note and it would sound. but i simply cant remember how.
  14. yep thanks ..thats the way im going.. and BTW the other way im going is Steven Slate Drums havent got time to waste on 10 year old technology
  15. thanks guys ..it does seem that the snare and sidestick are being picked up by one mike but surely if one is to have separate drum outputs one isnt expected to treat a snare EQ /comp/rev etc as they would a sidestick.. something wasnt thought thru here
  16. is it me or is this thing a POS. ive spent most of the day trying to do this... the snare and sidestick on Abbey road drummer ouput to the same fader by default i want to seperate them and send them to TWO separate outputs. all my outputs are setup and everything works but i cant work out how to send the sidestick to a different output.. this is the last chance for kontakt its wasted enough of my time as it is. thanks
  17. Hi all. i am trying to set up kontakt to output 8 mono ch and 4 stereo ch. but when i go to the synth rack to add Kontakt the options are "all synth outputs mono" OR "all synth outputs stereo" ive experimented with both of these and neither are satisfactory. what are you guys doing in this situation? Kontakt looks and feels a bit old and klunky sort of sorry i bought it now.
  18. Thanks Scook ..thats what i will do. still, if i have muted and hidden tracks i want to be the one deciding to unmute them.. the mute /unmute button should only affect the visible tracks ie in track /console view etc not the ones ive stowed away. anyway archive it is. thanks.
  19. Ok here is something i discovered... if i have selection of tracks muted and hidden and then hit the unmute all button..it unmutes all my hidden tracks as well. this seems counter intuitive to me.. if i have hidden a track its usually muted as well.. i dont want to see or hear it until i say so. with this i have to go back thru all the tracks and reorganize. seems dumb to me
  20. Thanks Jesiah..that did it... oh and i can see the confusion...what i meant in my original post is that 2 mons are "turned off" and moved and no longer visible. anyway ..sorted.
  21. i could but im looking for a simpler solution..if there is one?
  22. Hi all. im thinking this an easy one... I use 3 monitors 2 of which remain attached to the comp but are moved when not in use to preserve some space in my small studio but sometimes late at night i want to do a little fiddling/mixing but the console screen is on one of the other monitors..and i cant get it to show on my main monitor,,, How do I do that?
