  1. Also would be nice to have in Media Browser the following options: [Preview...] → setup the audition of samples\audio-clips at a certain "normalised" level (let's say "as is"; or user defined "Peak at: 0dBFS or -6dBFS, etc.; or RMS at: -18 or -21 or user defined value; or EBU R 128 value ≈ -24dBFS) [Import...] = drag'n'drop → "as is" or "as Preview" (because usually we Preview first before Importing) or "noramlised" by Peak\RMS (user defined), or EBU R 128 respectively. All this would save at least 90% of the time for "gain staging" preparation before mixing and make the user experience more consistent and uninterrupted. Of course some basic Waveform Seekbar would be nice as well, as requested earlier\originally in this feature request thread.
  2. Thank you scook, really appreciate your CbBTool. I think OS in PC should be native feature though... or maybe overall Render option for any used plugins, which might benefit from OS.
  3. (1) No (2) Yes Bug is a bug. In this case it is ridiculous bug, more lake semantic, leading to confusion. They can fix it and should fix it. Any other current interpretation will only lead to... constipation. 🥴
  4. Not really. It is a bug. None means NO INPUT whatsoever, silent, 0, nothing.
  5. To the developers of Cakewalk: Here is the logic of how MonitroingFX should be implemented: Create a MonitoringFX slot in the FX panel of the Master Bus and always place/keep it last. When Exporting the song (Entire Mix or Hardware Outs) bypass last panel of FX called MonitoringFX. Job done. Should be not more than 10 lines of code, because you've got the code for FX slot/chains already and its on/bypass functions.
  6. This is how I did it. 1. Create a Bus for the Master Bus (and name it Monitoring) 2. When exporting the song, chose: Export - Audio... Source Category: Buses (do not chose Entire Mix) Select only Master (the other Monitoring Bus should be left unselected) Simple workaround, much convenient than the workaround in Studio One or Reason.
  7. Will definitely try out this method! Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe I could not find a way to rout the Master to another bus in the previous attempts. And yes, the Echo button does not respect the None selection for the inputs and that is a bug. I want when I say 'None input', no signal to come in the track, no matter how much a press the buttons. Else, if Echo button should take priority for the sake of it, the 'None' label in the panel should change accordingly. Then it won't look and behave like it's a bug. Track templates are a pain in the but. Sometimes I will forget and will thing a track is routed appropriately, but it would not be, so I will have to double check... no time for that.
  8. Yeah, tried that, but this way would have to manually every time rout every new track, bus that that "Monitoring" bus track that finally goes to the Master. Reaper is definitely more convenient in this. Hope one day we see this feature in Cakewalk. Many people nowadays mix/listen on their headphones, so should be a standard at some point to have such a feature.
  9. I tried disabling 'Always Echo current MIDI Track' but the problem is when I manually click on the monitoring icon next to rec-arm icon on the track, it keeps reverting it to All imputs - Omni, whils it still says None. Definitely a bug!
  10. Ah, I see now! Many thanks, scook! Really helpful. I also saw an option to Record MIDI track data even when the MIDI track has not been rec-armed. I think it is 'off' (not ticked) by default but it is there on the ame setting page as the 'Always Echo current MIDI Track'. Now... if you can advise me on how to implement a workaround to make a proper routing for my Sonarworks headphone correction plugin to function as a MonitoringFX, that would be fantastic! I tried in Studio One, but their workaround is so cluttered (via some kind of Pipeline plugin on the Master bus, routed to itself... some voodoo magic for such a simple task in Reaper).
  11. Hi, I just installed Cakewalk 2020.01 build 28 ×64 bit. BUG: Choosing None in the Instrument input channel actually gives me Omni input. MISSING FEATURE: MonitoringFX to be able to load headphone correction plugins such as Sonarworks, without having to "load it last in the Mater FX chain and having to remember to turn in off during export".
