I think my ec300 is from this promotion and it looks like a standard iLok license supporting either cloud or a hardware key... when you try to activate it, is this erroring out or is the option unavailable? What happens if you right-click the item in iLok manager? Regarding transferring, it looks like it's enabled for that license and again iirc McDSP does allow transfers, however, keep in mind that PACE charges $25 per license transfer. Also, McDSP moved to v7 of their plugins which is a paid upgrade. Probably optional for Windows users but, a third iirc, they gated Apple Silicon compatibility behind the upgrade, so Mac users might want to wait for a promotion on v7.

probably skipping at least at launch, but congratulations to NI. big fan of this being a normal perpetual release and not launched alongside, or replaced by, a subscription. The inclusion of Ozone and some good PA stuff could be useful, but likely users especially at the ultimate tier are already invested with PA and Izotope directly? Nothing new regarding native Apple M1/M2 compatibility? I'm surprised some of the biggest players here don't have their product lines updated to native yet. I understand it can be a lot of work especially if there are legacy libraries or assembly code, but Apple set a clock for two years back in June 2020... notably Kontakt 6 did move already and that's probably the important one for most users.

The GOG summer sale is also on. I think they are just "GOG" rather than an acronym now but it used to be called "Good Old Games" and they do a good job of making games DRM-free, compatible with new OSes, and often including some bonus material, manuals, multiple versions and the like. It seems they're going the iZotope route where new features are sent to subscribers as they're developed, and bunched up in major releases for perpetual users. The sub-only features here are currently a new pattern sequencer and a maximizer from iZotope. So now we've seen NI products cross over to PA sales, and now iZotope code into NI products. Hoping NI does not make Komplete/Kontakt sub-focused. Though I can't imagine Kontakt would go too far down that route given most people use it as a platform for third-party libraries and I would think they wouldn't want to push more of them to developing their own samplers like Spitfire or Orchestral Tools. I know there is already a Komplete subscription but it's sort of off to the side.

HI Craig, was this the CE edition? I'm not participating in the promo but that seems to be what APD has in stock and the $149 tier would make sense in that case. Sweetwater's may be the regular edition.

there are a few paid modules which integrate with Phase Plant, Snap Heap, etc., but it might be only a set of more specialized ones. Earlier this year they made a couple dozen modules free which were paid before. Other users can say more or correct this. But I think that makes $99 phaseplant or $29 snapheap a "better deal" than it was before since you don't need to add more modules. here is a topic from one of the times the movement of many of the modules to free was discussed

yes that sums it up. I think VC 2A hasn't been sold on its own for years, only as part of a collection with its 1176 and dbx 160 siblings, also developed by Softube. Softube also developed a couple eqs and a vari-mu for NI. [Edit: Softube also did the RC24/RC48 lexicon-ish algo sim reverbs, which also were part of a collection and seem to be broken up for individual sale at PA now in the summer sale] These are from around 2011; IIRC they're pretty good, just not often talked about. But very possible everyone has another favorite opto. These are also in all editions of Komplete Ultimate 8+ (still ultimate-only).

users who were almost up to date might feel weird about the concept of "buy 1, get 50, only need 6" but I don't think we are being treated unfairly or anything... it's nice these promotions seem to be run once a year or more, we can evaluate and wait for the next one. also nice for them to automatically include anyone who had purchased Chiccarelli on release

are the Windows binaries not signed at all? If they aren't signed, Peter, could this be considered a feature request/bug and investigated, or re-evaluated if a known issue? It has some benefits to your users, and if someone wants a tangible benefit to prioritize something, it helps smooth the install process on Windows. on Mac the product manager seems to be signed but IIRC Apple mandated this for 10.14 or 10.15.

New promotion page design and grouping items by price is nice! Like many here I'm in the category of having almost everything from the last group buy. Great deal for new users. If anyone needs to run them on multiple computers at the same time (simultaneous use, not just installs), I think this could be a nice way of picking up second licenses.
