I love celestes, but I already own several celeste libraries I'm very fond of. The demo does sound beautiful and I think this developer has proven themselves to be a very talented, high quality shop based on tbeir freebies alone.

Maybe I'll pick this up down the road. I'm sure it would be a nice addition to my collection. I'd love to hear from anyone who picks this up.

Fracture Sounds sent me a copy a few days ago and it is top of its class. I am planning on featuring it this Thursday during Piano Day ;^)

There is a FREE Blueprint based on some of their recordings for this one that I haven’t been able to check out yet.

Over the past months Fracture Sounds has made a huge dynamic shift and I think it comes from the addition of Angus and more from Dan Keen, they are definitely on an upward trajectory.

    Stay tuned!
    Joyfully,
    Simeon

    * I have been blessed to have a relationship with the Fracture Sounds team which has allowed me to experience and share their beautiful instruments.

Thank you very much! We finally will get this feature in Cakewalk/Sonar! And I'm also excited for the great flexibility!

Could you please also consider adding a track-wide setting? That would be very useful for those who make orchestral templates. Many instruments just need a constant delay time. With track-wide delay setting, we can just add the delay in the templates and don't need to draw an articulation every time. (Drawing articulations in a template could make it messy)

    Many thanks!

I second that as a track-wide setting would make this type of workflow a lot smoother. The per articulation timing is fantastic, this would be icing on the cake.
There is quite the database of time offsets (actually they call is Negative Track Delay) already being managed here:

We've added a new feature to the new Sonar that will allow you to create Articulations that delay notes either positively or negatively ( +/- 1000) in either ms or ticks. You can also decide whether to include a note's end time in the delay, or retain its original end time.

Using articulations rather than a track-wide setting allows you much greater flexibility.   For example, orchestral strings with a slow attack playing legato could have a negative delay on the start time but when you switch to pizzicato, there is no delay.  You could even have different delay times for different octaves if required.

For simpler cases where you want everything on the track delayed, just draw the articulation over the whole track duration.

@msmcleod, Great points, and I am still learning more about the use case of having a TRACK DELAY ARTICULATION, that is interesting.

Many of the composers in their templates have a track per articulation but the way you describe it is a nice way to address this.

    Great work.

  3. Excited to see this get off the ground.

The first prototype has a really cool sound to it, almost like a nice round Horner bass at times, Running it through Recirculate is a lot of fun.

    It is like a team from a secret sampling society;
Jon is “The Player”, Hunter is “The Blender GUI Master”, Owen is “ The Coder”.

For the Prototype, Owen is using the open source HISE platform for their instruments. I hear that they are also going to still introduce Kontakt based instruments. The Prototypes might be called proof of concept experiments to get things rolling as well as to get some initial momentum.

I have been big fans of what Jon, Hunter, and Owen have done respectively and look forward to seeing them succeed in this new venture.

    *The fine print:
I have purchased instruments from Jon Meyer when first learning of his work. I have received NFR copies of their Pianobook Artists libraries via Spitfire Audio. I also purchased the first Somerville Sounds prototype in an effort to help support them and have offered to assist in testing future releases.

    Joyfully yours,
    Simeon

This is the one...  on the high performance power plan.
    Crazy massive change..

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9xAG3nb9XQ

I am now running all of my projects on my UAD with latency at the lowest of 32.
Not even a twitch and loads of plugins on.

    Gary,
I ran that particular tweak and it did seem to make a big difference.
Here is another video that goes into a possibly more specific breakdown of the Ultimate Power Plan settings:

Again, I have to go back to the dramatic difference my stability became after installing the RME interface and drivers. It would be interesting to see if things held steady let’s say if I went back to the Arturia or Focusrite. That might be something to investigate, but for now I am feeling a confidence in my system that is hard to explain.

    Joyfully,
    Simeon

  5. Some good (and scary ones) in this video.

I ran a couple of these, especially the NVIDIA Debloat and driver slimming suggestions, along with the DYNAMIC TICK suggestion.

Honestly though, my biggest update was finally being able to add an RME Babyface Pro FS to my setup, it has been an absolute dream for me here. My past livestreams have been rock solid and I am able to run everything at 128 buffers which nets me around 2.7 ms roundtrip latency. It has been such an eye and ear opening experience with this and now I know first hand what everyone has been talking about all of these years.

Here is what my latest Latency Mon is looking like:

  6. So, this is big news in a way as Nord has typically used FATAR (Studiologic) keybeds. Having moved to Kawai, you have more of the legendary VPC-1 type of keybed and from the looks of it and even improved version of that, so this will be interesting indeed.

  7. I downloaded the trial version and it looks very interesting out of the box. My use case would be for live-streaming and demo voiceovers, so one concern I had was overall latency which I am still working on figuring out how much, if any it adds to the processing chain.

The noise reduction does seem to work very transparently without creating lots of odd artifacts which I thought was impressive. More testing to come.

It was also Interesting to see the $29 price tag….hmmmmm ;^)

  9. Steinberg has just released Taped Vibes as a FREE instrument for HAlion (also works in the HALion Sonic player).
It is a very cool take on the Wurlitzer 200A. They are also introducing a series of videos that walk you through the process of creating your own instrument in HALion with new installments periodically.

Join me today 11:00 am EST, for the Premiere of my walkthrough here:

More info on Taped Vibes can be found here: www.steinberg.net/vst-instruments/taped-vibes/

    1176 Classic Limiter Collection

    Manley VOXBOX Channel Strip

    Pultec Passive EQ Collection

the dbx 160 Compressor / Limiter

I picked up the Manley VOXBOX Channel Strip and excited to check that out.
What I was happily surprised is that one of the FREEBIES when ordering through Plugin Boutique is DAWSOMES LOVE multi effect.
I have played with it briefly and there is a lot of potential and to "Love" about it.

And the $49 essentials is a great deal, especially with all of the extra compressor models.

Thanks for the heads up @satya

This is the developer that @Simeon Amburgey interviewed that used to be with Orchestra Tools. I thought this library sounds beautiful and the developer is super likable.

Anyone considering this library,  be sure to check out our own Simeon's video. I've long had two favorite YouTubers in this space and one of them is Simeon.

    Thanks for sharing this!

Maxime is such a talented developer, and I can tell you something new is coming soon in the form of a gorgeous pipe organ. I am looking forward to checking it out. Also, I love being able to have the opportunity to have developers on the channel, it helps us get to kno wthe individuals behind the code.

    Stay tuned for more!

  12. I saw the news around 5 AM this morning and it broke my heart. As many have mentioned Cory was the YouTuber that we all were inspired to become. His no nonsense approach and ethics were the traits we respected and admired.

Putting yourself out there is exhilarating but also at times exasperating and exhausting in so many ways, especially mentally. It is so easy for us to see someone on their channel and make judgements about them, who we think they are when in reality as is all too true in this case, there is so much more going on. As in Cory’s case battles and pain occurring that the depth would break even the best of us.

Praying for his family and loved ones, as well as the broader community who are dealing with losing a friend who for the majority of us have never met but made a connection that affected us in a profound and positive way.

May we all be more compassionate and reach out to those who we feel are going through a struggle. Even the smallest word of encouragement can be such a powerful way to help someone.

  13. I'll leave this here:
I have followed and worked with Guido since the Soundfont days and this is a great update. Guido has really packed some cool features into this one as well as added the original VB3 version 1 engine back as an option.

The iPad application has also been recently approved and if you have a VB3II license there is a way you can activate it on your iOS device.

I'm interested in this, but they've only put up a trailer.  No walkthrough video yet.

They say there are 380 instruments and presets.  But they don't list them.  So, aside from being in the "fury" family of Sample Logic instruments, it's not clear what it is exactly.  As a Fury, it will have randomization, which they mention.   These libraries are a lot more bare-boned than their AI series.

Hopefully they will provide more information before the intro price offer ends.  Or maybe somebody will do a video on YouTube.  @Simeon Amburgey  ? 😃

    Reid,

I am pulling it down now.
From what Sample Logic says, World Fury's content is derived from World AI, just without all of the bells and whistles of arps and such.

It might show up on my "Grab Bag" livestream later today ;^)

On an instrument this deep, lack of multi-threading is a significant limitation.

    ^^^^ This ^^^^

In my use of the UVI Workstation and Falcon, especially with some of the pianos things can bog down fairly quickly with lots of activity. I have been able to come up with a crude workaround by placing several instances of the UVI Engine inside of UNIFY and setting keyranges to help spread the load so to speak. While not elegant, it works to some extent.

Multithreading would tap into the potential of what this engine has to offer, but at this point it is like a Triple Crown winning race horse that has been hamstrung. Still holding out hope.
