  1. USB? Bluetooth? Hard wired to a different interface? In those cases, you have to tell Cakewalk the output device you want to use. It doesn't always assume it's the Windows interface. You can have Windows and Cakewalk pointing to two different output interfaces. How do the headphones connect?
  2. Wavosaur - I need to check that out. Nothing like moving out of the 1900's!
  3. Hi Erik, Thanks for the response. I should have framed the question better. I have several harmonizers like Quadravox, etc. that don't appear to be affected by the ASIO buffer size or don't show any affect. I don't have any other VST or effects that are impacted like MHarmonizer. I get that it takes time to process and 2048 samples might just be too much of a "bite" to get done in time (to Will's point.) I initially expected the delay compensation to deal with that but it might be just too much. Waiting doesn't help, it's drowning in data. The number of instances don't seem to matter either. I can run one or four MHarmonizers and it's the same. I did go in and play with interpolation, sample accurate processing and a couple of others. Nothing seems to change anything until I changed the ASIO buffer size. It does report 46ms latency at 2048 samples (even when running at ASIO 128 samples.) That doesn't seem to be that horrible. And I run ASIO at 32 samples as long as I don't run ANYTHING else otherwise I have to drop back to 64 or 128 (at worst.) I haven't gotten a response from Melda but they are very good at responding. In the end, I know what to do to make it work but I was wondering if anyone knew something specific. A search on the internet hasn't found anything specific.
  4. Yes, there are literally thousands of generic answers to the ASIO buffer question and very few specifically addressing this plug-in. I know of no other plug-in affected at this level. Maybe someone will want to chime in with an example. This is the first situation where I couldn't run a large buffer and I have some very VST/plug-in loaded songs. I understand the generic answer. Maybe someone can give a more technical and less generic answer.
  5. I posted this on the KVR forum but figured I'd ask here too. I use Cakewalk By Bandlab (on the latest version) and when using the MHarmonizerMB, I noticed I have to run the ASIO buffer size up to about 128 or the harmonizer breaks up and gets choppy. Setting ASIO to 2048 makes it totally unusable. It's grinding rocks. Anything beyond 512 starts to crap out. It's not uncommon to run large buffers during playback but with the harmonizer, it limits that to smaller buffers. I also notice that when I switch ASIO from 128 or so to 2048 from within Cakewalk it takes at least 30 seconds for Cakewalk to return. It's long enough that Windows says it's not responding but eventually comes back. The reason I ask is: 1. Why does the buffer size affect playback quality? It's like the larger buffers exceed the system or CbB ability to process the VST data. 2. Are there other specific setting I should be using elsewhere to maintain the harmonizer smoothness? When it's smooth, it's great but it seems little things make it start getting choppy and distorted. I only stumbled on the ASIO buffer size issue because the harmonizer sounded really choppy and I started checking EVERYTHING to figure out why. Overall, the song isn't really taxing the i7 processor. It's related to the buffer or something I haven't figured out. I've tried both a Presonus Audiobox iTwo and a M-Audio Quad. Same results with the choppiness.
  6. Cool Edit 2000 integrates very well into CbB utilities. If you are wanting to do a speed change without maintaining pitch, Cool Edit works great. It's not so good at changing speed when maintaining pitch. I use CbB for that with Elastique Pro. I also use Cool Edit for noise reduction and other dynamic changes and filters. It works like a dream and going in and out of CbB nicely. You can evoke it on a clip basis and it will save back into CbB. I would assume other editors would too.
  7. I want the opposite, White background and black text.
  8. Naw, I figure by now someone would have if it made sense. I can see the track name so I scan the clips but the highlighting sometimes obscures it. Minor.
  9. Is it possible to search for a clip name and have it highlighted on the track view? For example, you're in Melodyne editing a clip but scroll the track view away from the clip. You can see the clip name in Melodyne and want to have the track screen show it again. I read the manual and didn't find anything but maybe I didn't figure out the right keywords. Terry
  10. Hi Mark, check your PMs. I will when I can get it to appear.
  11. I will when I can get it to appear.
  12. This popup is saying that Cakewalk.Exe can't find a file. I am asking if there is a way to figure out what file it's looking for. But it appears to be related to saving a bundle after using AudioSnap but I can't nail down the trigger. I looked for error files and didn't find anything so I figured I'd ask. Maybe it's looking for a clip? Everything seems to work though. CbB continues on as if nothing is wrong. I'll spend some time on it today. I was thinking maybe the developers might know when a vague message like that is generated. Like error "Oh Shit#2" in Spice.
  13. I'm get a window that says "Cakewalk.exe File not found." Is there any way to determine what file that is? I am on the newest EA 025 but I am not sure it's related. I will rollback and see if it reappears. I've gotten it a couple of times and suspect it's related to AudioSnap when I try to save as a bundle and it warns that snaps will be lost if I continue on my evil way.
  14. That or an email to support@cakewalk.com. They do respond. If you are commenting or have questions a newer build I would go to Feedback. If you are reporting a bug, I would post here but follow up with an email to support.
  15. Hi someone knows how to disable automatic scrolling without having to press this key? Click the Track view Options menu, point to Click Behavior and choose Left Click Locks Scroll on the submenu.
  16. This is how I see it. It's also how I manage to get 12 effects on one track with 11 being disabled.
  17. I'm not sure it's a troll. Some of their frustrations aren't unfounded but I don't go on car forums and complain about how much I hate that car. I sell the car and get a different one.
  18. So while labeled "Quantize", it's not?
  19. Right, it shouldn't be happening but the issue is that the results change just playing it over and over. It's like it's recalculating start times each time Play is started. I would expect the results to be unchanged. And I did verify Autostretch and played with it some. I need to mess with it more. However, reading the other thread, I am not sure it does what I thought it does. Thanks David!
  20. I've been playing with audio quantize and it appears to vary with each play. I pick a clip, set the Audio Snap to Clip Follows Project (for later tempo change), select Quantize, set it and hit OK. Overall the results are impressive. But with repeated plays, the results seem to vary from play to play like it's moving in time by maybe 50/960 ticks overall. Or parts will be good and others go out of timing and which part goes out changes with each press of play. Anyone notice this? Do I have a setting wrong? I also notice when I change the tempo say from 120 to 127, each press of play gives slightly different timing results. I all speeds up but it's like picks slightly new start rimes every time I hit play. Both audio quantize and tempo change (clip follows project) vary with each play. It's subtle but clearly noticeable. I don't know if it's related to Online being Elastique Efficient and it recalcs on every play. Buffer size (haven't trying changing that.) Just checking.
  21. Are the effects turned off globally with the FX button in the transport?
  22. Ctrl-End will take you to the point of the true end. There are often automation nodes out there.
  23. "My problem is that when the first two plugins are installed, it will show that it needs to be launched with the correct application, but I don't know why this happens. The first download I did yesterday did work, but when I clicked on it again, it was the same as now. I tried to re-download it a few times, but the problem persisted. What am I going to do?"
  24. If the loop points don't match at a zero crossing you are certainly liable to get artifacts and especially if you then use Length to change the timing. Set the loop points to match at a zero crossing or at least go in and edit the crossing so there is no spike or discontinuity.
