  1. My installer update crapped out big time!!! Thankfully , support contacted me back and after about 10 hours total of troubleshooting and nasty talk I finally got the installer working again. But Addictive Drums 2 is still hosed. Hendrick at XLN emailed me back and forth for I know 3 hours. He was extremely helpful and patient with me. I tip my hat to him. I have uninstalled AD2 for the time being. I will not miss it much as I use Superior Drummer 3 mostly. I may try another wack at it when I have the time. Btw, the fix came down to having to go to Program Files and the Program Data folder, locating the XLN Audio folders. In there is the Online Installer folder. Delete that folder and download the latest Online Installer file from XLN. Now install the new file and it should install no problem!! I wish you luck if you are having trouble like this. My last 2 days have been rough!
  2. WTH! Ran the XLN Installer, it updated, went off the screen to restart,it showed up for a half a second, and DISAPPEARED! NOW IT WON'T RUN AT ALL! Any suggestions on how to fix this?
  3. Just had to rollback to version 09! Installed updates for Ozone 9 Advanced and scanned. Scanner broke! Tried everything to get the scan to complete . When it did complete my VST 3 plugs were not listed. Finally had to uninstall all the Izotope plugs, rollback Cakewalk to 09, reinstall Izotope plugins and all is good now. 2 days of lost time and nerve-wracking troubleshooting! No more experimenting for me! I am waiting on the full baked Cake from here on out!! Still love Cake and will continue to support it!!
  4. I stand corrected! After a very close and critical listening session with Soundpaint and the 1928 grand, there definitely is some fallback and pedal noises. They are very low but there. I hope the update version has a separate volume control for the noises.
  5. I generally use vst2 plugs out of habit. In the past I have had problems with vst3 plugs. This is one of those instances where the problem was with vst2.
  6. OK. Just replaced a grand piano plug in a project of mine that features the piano. Soundpaint 1928 held its own and performed wonderfully with significant reduction of CPU hunger! Two things I am missing though. 1-no pedal noise and have not found it if there is a tweak to adjust! 2-no hammer fallback noise as well,. I know these things sound like nitpicking but those features lend a more realistic character to any electronic piano especially when it is playing completely solo. Hopefully there will be an update to this library that will include them. Nevertheless, I would not hesitate to use this piano! Verdict: Brilliantly done! Hats off!!
  7. Download and installation worked flawlessly! Piano installation as well! I have to say that YouTube videos do not do justice to the sound quality of this piano!!! For a freebie it is a must have! Haven't tried using it in a project yet to check CPU hit but seems to be extremely useable just out of the box. Grab it now!
  8. I had this problem for years while using the Sonar versions of Cake. Sometime after a Platinum update, the problem went away on its own and has been fine ever since. Maybe contact Noel Borthwick and he can find out the setting that changed. I'm sorry that I don't have an answer but after it fixed itself I never pursued why.
  9. I took advantage of the Phoenixverb being on sale recently. I was surprised to find the output was mono!! No matter how I tried it only had mono output in a track or bus. I finally tried the VST 3 version and discovered that it works perfectly. The VST 2 version will not output stereo no matter what. Is this a known issue with Phoenixverb? Just wanted to give everyone a heads up!!
  10. There is a section on articulations in this forum towards the bottom of the main page.
  11. Btw, this is a killer for classic rock tracks. I never was a big Orange fan but this Dual Terror has got me rethinking about that.
  12. This is a dual channel amp. Tiny Terror was single if I remember correctly.
  13. Thanks for responding!! I will pass on this information.
  14. Hi! Sidroe here!! First, I must say how great it is to still be part of the Cake Universe. The work you guys are doing is incredible!! Now, I have a friend who is blind. Back in the day I would assist him in his recording ventures and I must say, what he could accomplish on his own was just amazing. He used Sonar 8.5 and a program called Jaws. Just to watch him work was unbelievable! He recently bought a new computer and was sad to find out that Jaws discontinued support for Sonar. My question is simple. Are there any screen reading programs out there that is working on CbB? Otherwise He will have to resort to using Sonar 8.5 and the old Jaws scripts and my concern is how stable this would be on Windows 10, much less 11!! Is there anyone out there using screen readers with good results for CbB? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
  15. If you move the threshold slider or knob deep in to a ridiculous point, you cannot mistake the sound of over-compressed, lifeless music gasping for air!!! Take a while and leave it there and listen. Eventually, you will always be able to hear where the correct settings will be. It won't hurt to use different formats of music to get an idea what settings work for what type of music. I, too, can't tell you how many times I have been told by some pretty big heavyweights in the business to stop relying on the meters so much and use your ears more. I still struggle between the two!!
  16. I sometimes copy the rhythm track on the far pan, paste it and pan it to the opposite side. Then I click and drag the copied track just milliseconds behind the beat. This, if done correctly, can create the feel that no two guitar players will play in exact synchronized timing! BE CAREFUL!!! Pulling too far out ot time just creates a digital delay!! If you hear that you're too far out! You can just drag back until you find the sweet spot. Once you find it you'll have a wonderful wide open spot in the center for that beautiful guitar solo that will change the world and bring peace to the universe!!
  17. Thanks for responding, Noel! I'm on 053 version. I was running the EA version before and never noticed this problem before. Now I am seeing the saving and shutdown taking longer. Wifi is never used except for updates and the antivirus is disabled until I go online. If I must rollback what version would I go with?
  18. Loading VSTs is acting strange. It takes a while now after the latest update. The spinning wheel icon now comes up on the screen and it acts like Cake is looking for the plugin!! It does load but nowhere near as quickly. Is anyone else having this behavior?
  19. Thanks so much for the info and your time especially!!!!
  20. Thanks so very much. May I ask was that info in the help file or maybe the reference manual and if so where was it located? I have searched all over and could not find it.
  21. Can anyone help!! I scoured the latest Cakewalk manual and do not find any reference to this editing workflow.
