  1. Maybe not directly related to original question but... FYI, I personally never use console view because I always create/edit a mix by adding volume envelope nodes in Track View. (I suppose "setting nominal levels in Console View is something I might happily do, but the gain and volume faders in Track View work just fine for me for setting nominal levels).
  2. If anyone has gone through this, please give me insight into your procedure: I record a live performance using X32 card. I put audio files in the folder where "I want them". I do not want them copied elsewhere by Cakewalk. I start a new blank project and import the audio wav files. On save as, I uncheck the box "Copy all data with project", and I have set the audio folder... At some point, with subsequent saves (not Save as..) Cakewalk indicates it is copying audio files to Audio folder (I think a subfolder path of my original files). I hardly even know how to ask the question... I just figure someone who "recognizes this scenario, and has solved it" might give me some insight to their procedure to make sure Cakewalk will not copy my audio files to a new folder.
  3. That is nice to know. Thx Hopefully "Scale Waveforms for Selected Tracks" will also be added
  4. That is nice to know. Thx Hopefully "Scale Waveforms for Selected Tracks" will also be added
  5. Thank you, I will add this to "requested features"
  6. How do I: Zoom waveform display on ALL audio tracks at once (I do NOT mean generally zooming tracks. I mean zooming the waveform display)
  7. Mouse wheel scrolling on Inputs Outputs menus (please!)
  8. I now use a Klark Teknik DN9630 so I have to individually assign 48 outputs. Still hoping for this feature to be added: Output series assignment (please!)
  9. FYI, I tested 128gb SD card (formatted on my computer FAT32 using EaseUS Partition Manager) Tested recording for 3 hours, and test worked fine (3+ hours on one SD card) The only "trick" I discovered is: After formatting on my computer FAT32, the first time I insert into X-LIVE slot, I have to use X-LIVE "Erase SD" option. Otherwise it would stop recording after 10 seconds.
  10. Using Behringer x32 as 32 channel audio interface. Please! Add option for "Output series" assignment (just like Cakewalk already has for "Input series" assignment).
  11. 1] Roughly about how many "concatenations" do you think would be involved in a 3 hour 32 track recording? 2] I am hoping Cakewalk "snap to clips" setting will make accurate "concatenation" go pretty easy.
  12. Please add "Assign track outputs in a series" across multiple tracks (just like you already have "Assign track inputs in a series" across multiple tracks) I use x32 mixer and what a pain to always have to assign each Cakewalk output to each of the X32 audio card channels.
  13. Can Cakewalk import X-Live X32 wav files? These files are multi-track wav files and I wonder if anyone has tested this. i.e. can Cakewalk split the files into multiple tracks?
  14. AGAIN - please add mouse wheel scrolling to the input/output dropdown lists I use x32 card with 32 inputs and 32 outputs. I have to tediously mouse click to scroll the input/output list (because the "more instinctive" and convenient mouse wheel scrolling is not implemented). Thank you!

  16. Programmers... Please: add mouse wheel scrolling on menu dropdown lists e.g. "input list", "output list", "effects list" Thank you!
  17. I just tried again based on your comment. Mouse wheel zoom option fixed it. Needed to select "Zoom in at Now Time". Thx! Only weird thing is: The other option "Zoom in at cursor" does not seem stay "at the ruler time where my cursor is".
  18. I like the zoom behavior (Ctrl + Left/Right arrow) being "if cursor is visible, zoom centers on cursor". (Yaaay!) HOWEVER when using ALT + mouse wheel to zoom, it does not behave that way (and I think it should, to be consistent).
  19. When I have live recording with multiple songs, I think I will try adding two "color coded labeling tracks", one for the songs, and one for the song sections.
  20. Success! I am now using TouchDAW (wireless control surface on Android phone) to control Cakewalk transport, and now, I can also set the loop range (the loop range was the part I was struggling to figure out). I realize now this is done fairly simply using the "pick list" of commands in the "Cakewalk control surface setup screen" that can be assigned to Function buttons: e.g. F1 Set "from selection" to Now F2 Set "thru selection" to Now F3 Set loop to selection
  21. So, to be clear, with your Mackie, can you (completely remotely) set a selection range like this scenario: 1] Pause, the transport somewhere in the song, and set "beginning of range" at that point 2] Play forward a bit, and pause transport, and set "end of range" at that point No matter what the buttons are called ("Modifier keys", "Selection Keys") they still have to send "generic control surface commands"that Cakewalk understands, right? I am trying to determine if the Mackie has some proprietary commands that: a) Cakewalk responds to (of course), but, b) other controllers cannot produce those same special commands.
  22. If you don't mind, might be good to edit the original post to correct that. I found myself googling for 5 minutes before I gave up😉 Might help others avoid that rabbit hole. Thx
  23. So you can set/edit the loop region with the Mackie MCU? If so, I think that means I can do it with TouchDAW. Can you tell me more of how you do it with the Mackie MCU, then maybe I can extrapolate to TouchDAW. FYI, here is a video on using TouchDAW with Cakewalk
