  1. Just to close the loop on this thread; Installing Sonar XL did not solve the problem (I was unable to install Sonar 3 in Win 10). Running the installer v1.0.0.4 worked like a charm for both the VS-20 Control Surface AND the embedded COSM effects within the V-Studio hardware! Many thanks for the help @chuckebaby !!!
  2. Yes you need an old ID to download the file - when you click on that link it opens the login page. If you can send it I would truly appreciate it!
  3. @Matthew Richards I hadn't thought of that as I assumed the old SonarXL wouldn't install on Win10 correctly. I'll try it as I have the original disks. If anyone can login to the old website and download this file I would be eternally grateful if you could send it to me...if so can you send me a message. Since it is the 64-bit upgrade to the control surface I wonder if it will work with Cakewalk by Bandlab. I've asked tech support for a copy also but no response yet. https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013175/V-Studio-20-Control-Surface-Installer-for-Cakewalk-hosts-v1-0-0-4
  4. I can select the VS-20 from the MIDI Devices drop down list (I am not sure what the difference is between VS-20 DAW and VS-20 Effect control unless ot is specific to the built in COSM effects?) I can select ports from the Control Surfaces menu but it does not apply or save them. I have tried the generic control surface with no success either. Any ideas?
  5. I see the VS20 and can select it - but none of the faders, track select, or transport functions work. Sounds like the same problem Alan is having with the VS100.
  6. Thanks. I was able to 'hack' the V-20 drivers to work on Windows 10 with no problem, I am just getting into the full setup process for the DAW and didn't know if running the old driver update would break anything (I am guessing it would) I read through the reference manual (which is HUGE) and it seems like this should be able to be done manually with the ACT Midi Controller process but I figured the old driver install would be much faster if it actually works. I am trying to replicate the fader setup where it has 2 groups of 8 faders (group 1 for tracks 1-8, group 2 for tracks 9-16) mapped to track volume. If anyone has had success with any of the Roland V-Studio gear using the ACT or Generic controller configuration please feel free to chime in. p.s. here's a screen shot from the 'old' Cakewalk site for the last driver update.
  7. Greetings - does anyone know if the Roland V-Studio 20 Control Surface Installer works with Cakewalk by Bandlab or if there is another option available? This was released as a 64-bit update for Sonar Studio/Producer (v 1.0.0.4) back in March 2016.
