I think this is a really catchy song and your vocals are great. Fwiw, I think the song is worth spending more time on if you're not happy with the drums.

Lynn: Hi Lynn, thanks for taking the time to listen and comment. I've been a fan of your music for a long time and I appreciate the kind comments. I really enjoyed your collaboration with Daryl1968, "Dependence Day". Michael Fogarty: Thanks very much!! I'm mostly interested in the arrangement so this means a lot to me. Max Arwood: Haha! I wish! Thanks very much for the listen and comment. Glad you liked the "vibe".
  4. Really lovely recording of a beautiful tune. Well done!
  5. Great collab guys. Outstanding playing, production and mix. I'm jealous of people who can work this fast. Man, I can't even tune a guitar in the time it took you guys to finish this song. ☹️
  6. Wow, everything about this is fantastic! Amazing job on the recording, production and mix.
  7. I enjoyed this quite a bit. I really like the arpeggio and panning that comes in around 2:20. Excellent!

Makke: Thanks very much, glad you liked it!
  9. I really like this. The title pretty much sums up the overall feel and the heavy guitars were an unexpected but welcome surprise. Nice work!
  10. Very nice! Love the Dick Dale, Ventures vibe.
  11. Hi Bjorn, very nice song, mix and vocal. It's really impressive (to me) that you get such an organic sound using virtual instruments. The fiddle sounds great. I had never heard of Bolder Sounds but I'll have to check them out. Great job!
  12. Wow, this is great! Amazing how the voice over from the 40's sounds like it could be from current politicos. Great mix and arrangement. Loved the 'springy' guitar, the horn lines and, well, everything else.

I need to get over my fear of reverb!
  14. Hi David, cool tune. I really enjoyed the elec. piano changes as well as the brushes on the drums (what did you use for that?). Well done!

I appreciate the listen and positive comments. Great job on "Fake" btw. Jesse Screed: Thank you, sir! Well, I tried to use my mojo but it wasn't working so "snake charm" was all I had!
  16. i kinda liked ex 03 but what will work for your song depends more on the song and mix than my taste (or lack of taste).
  17. Hi Douglas, very enjoyable song and recording. Love the laid-back groove and sweet harmonies. Well done!
  18. cool tune! Really like the harmonies and that electric piano (?) line that comes in at around 1:50. Interesting lyrics as well.

Great song and great work by John Hughes. The mix is top notch to my ears. Also, I like the 'a tribute to the eighties' tag because it reminds me that there was more than hair-metal music going on in the 80's.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to listen to "eye contact" and leave a comment: thegaltieribrothers: Paul, thank you for listening and commenting. I appreciate the positive comments on my guitar playing. I really enjoyed your tune "fallen star". Wookie: Thanks very much for the listen and comment. I liked your "The Cosmic Brain Part 1" and am looking forward to its completion. DeeringAmps: I thank you for the listen and your tres cool comments. Much appreciated! mark skinner: Hi Mark, thanks for the listen and suggestions. At the 2:06 mark a piano doubles the trumpet line an octave higher. That could be the problem you refer to. I'll have to revisit that section. Thanks for the help. I was blown away by your cover of "Take Me Down South". emeraldsoul: Hi Tom, thanks very much for the rhythm guitar and reverb suggestions. I appreciate the help! I also appreciate the positive comments about the guitar and tune as well, thank you. freddy j: Freddy! Thank you for listening and leaving such positive comments. Great job on "Blackhole Personality" by the way. Thanks again. dcumpian: Hi Dan, I appreciate the listen and your taking the time to leave a comment. Glad you liked the tune, thank you!

  22. Hi Wookie, great to see (hear) you posting music! Thoroughly enjoyed The Cosmic Brain. I like that your arrangement contains a couple of different parts that drop out and then combine at around 4:20. Very nice work, sir.

This started out as an attempt to write something Latin-ish but wound up sounding like the theme song for a cheap spy movie. So, if Latin spy-movie themes are your thing, this might appeal to you. I'm more or less happy with the parts and arrangement but completely unsure about everything else. Suggestions etc. are welcome. https://soundcloud.com/geeare1/eye-contact
  24. Good one, Freddy! I'm not hearing any issues with the guitars.
  25. I've never heard the Gary Clark Jr. version but this is fantastic!
