    Asio

I've been using an older Roland UA-25 interface for a long time. It's been ok until I tried opening the BIAB Vst ... Just wondered if there was an easy fix to hear Asio again as it's showing as an option but when applied I don't hear any sound.

    Asio

Cake was working fine with Asio. After inserted a VST "Band In a Box" into the daw, the error message BIAB wasn't connecting with cake ... please close and try again. When opening Cake again there was no sound, so I changed to Wasapi shared and now I can hear but slight latency delay. Asio is showing as an option but when I try Asio it still has no sound so for now I'm be using Wasapi. Any suggestions on how adjust to get back to Asio again?
  4. John, my bit rate was at 64 ... Maybe it changed when I did the latest upgrade, not sure. I have now reset to 16 bit depth as you've shown and problem corrected ... thank you for your assistance.
  5. Thanks for that solution John V.
  6. I've just found where to change the bit depth ... experimented with that option and it worked ... that's a first ... anyway thanks for your assistance Scook
  7. I've always just went to Export - Audio File - Wave and download to a folder and then play wave file ... default groove music player recently ... and it played ... but today showing error regarding encode format not supported. Not sure what you mean to export bit depth and how? TIA
  8. Exporting a song to wav file from Cakewalk ... Went to play like any other wav file I've exported in the past and error comes up "item was encoded in a format that's not supported" That's the message I received when opening song using groove music wouldn't open using windows media player either ... same error message. Tried using VLC media player and song does play. I think this is the first time I've tried exporting since the latest bandlab update. Suggestions? This hasn't happened before, was always able to use default player "groove music" when opening a file
  9. This is the strangest thing. All day yesterday I couldn't get Cake to open. Then today opened the program with holding shift (thanks Kevin P) but got a message regarding I/O device error. So closed Cake to try another solution, attempted to open Cake like usual, and it's opened up to my project like nothing was ever wrong. Relieved that I can get to the project, although not convinced all's good after yesterday's frustration. Will update if problems persist. Thanks to the forum for helping out. Fingers crossed .... hmm
  10. Kevin, I was able to open Cakewalk by holding the shift key. That was a relief to get to that step. Now when I go to open a project I get this notice: "Request could not be performed because of an I/O device error" Presently looking for a solution to that. Thanks for your help
  11. Tried that Kevin ... Cake still won't open ... and now message saying renaming (back to original .dll) might become unstable ...
  12. I've been using Cakewalk regularly. Few days ago I installed two free vst's. This morning Cakewalk was seeming unstable, not starting properly. Now I can't get it to stay open. When I start Cakewalk, it opens with window saying "Searching For Plugins" appears for a few seconds in bottom right of screen and then Cakewalk ends, back to my home screen. I know where the vst's are in C drive ... programs files/steinburg/vstplugins. The plugins are labelled with .dll ... If I delete that type of file in program files on my C drive ... will they be automatically deleted when I open Cakewalk? I'm thinking probably not. My Bandlab account is up to date. Frustrating as I'm in the middle of a project. If I uninstalled/installed over again, I'm assuming I'd be starting from scratch regarding vst's like Dimension Pro (which I have presently have installed) I still have the command centre shortcut from when I had Platinum prior to Bandlab. I'd rather not have to do a re-install of course. The newest free vst's I installed recently are called "Wavetable Synth by Vital" and "UJAM Finisher by MICRO" Suggestions please? Thanks in advance.
  13. For example, in the program files/steinburg/vstplugins folder I have plugins labelled with .dll So if I delete that type of file in the programs on my C drive will they automatically be deleted when I open up Cakewalk?
  14. thanks for these suggestions. I know where the vst's are ... programs files/steinburg/vstplugins. The plugins are labelled with .dll ... If I delete that type of file in program files on my C drive ... will they be automatically deleted when I open Cakewalk?
  15. I have a similar problem just happened today. I did install a couple new VST's few days ago. Cakewalk was working this morning but it seemed unstable. Now when I try to open it as soon as it gets to scanning VST's then it closes down. I think I should remove the latest vst's but how to do that if I can't open Cakewalk to do that? Where can I find the vst's and remove them on my computer? Thanks in advance
  16. Thanks Robert … issue solved …
  17. I've downloaded a plug-in by Bitsonic called Keystone Classic. I can find the plug-in within the program files. I can't seem to find the correct steps to add it to Cakewalk. I've been the plug-in manager but that's where I'm stumped. Any suggestions on how to get this plug-in installed in Cakewalk? TIA.
  18. Thanks everyone for your assistance. Yes, I had to re-authorize addictive drums at the XLN site.
  19. After the latest windows update (yesterday) I get this notice when opening Cakewalk … "Wrong Comuter ID. Possible problem with authorizantion. Please make sure that your host is not run in compability mode. If this is not the case run the XLN Online installer to authorize and likewise check that it is not run in compability mode. " What is compability mode and how can I correct this? Cakewalk wouldn't open Addictive Drums 2 as an example.
  20. Unplugged the interface and rebooted.... It's now ok. Just weird …. thanks again synkrotron …. I'm relieved now … lol …
  21. I have rebooted the computer. No change … now in the Audio Devices (in preferences) is not showing the Roland UA-25Ex which I've been using all along. Should I re-install the driver for the UA-25Ex? That seems like an option.
  22. Cakewalk froze so I used task manager to stop program. When I started cakewalk up again I get this notice … There are no audio devices for current driver model on system. go to edit/preferences/audio/playback&recording/ and choose a different driver model. I've been using ASIO all along and it's set at that. I can't get any audio sound. Also there's a window coming up that says … The following tracks and buses are currently assigned to a silent hardware output. The items listed below will be silent until their outputs are reassigned to appropriate hardware outputs … (and in the box is Master) How do I change that?
  23. Problem solved … nevermind … lol
  24. Where am I able to download Bandlab assistant. I can only find an option to download the whole cakewalk program. Do I have to do that in order to get the latest Bandlab assistant upgrade?
  25. Can someone explain why I suddenly can't save projects? I can't save in Demo Mode. Not sure how I got to demo mode. Possibly I need to upgrade to the latest Bandlab assistant?
