The only PA Amp Sim worth any of your time, (imo, ymmv etc etc) having said that I even gave it away back a while along with the rest.

I might get the Lindell 254E or Lindell 354E, or possibly the Lindell PEX-500 and the Lindell 7X-500 just to use the voucher. There's nothing there I really want that I don't already have, or have had at one time and either sold or given away. Maybe I should just pass (and that I surely am)

Well, you can always get the 2 Lindells and never download them.  It's not like you lose out on anything doing that.

Trying to decide whether to get a couple free $10 things, or pay $9 for something a little more interesting that I may never use.

  2. I think the only disappointing thing about it is they only have 3 mic positions but they recorded something like 20 mics.  That would be kind of cool  to have access to more mics

I'm not sure how many mic positions Kontakt can support.  I know it was an issue for Embertone's Walker.

it's a $20 with no lower limit so basically risk free :)

One time use though.  Once you choose, that is it.  Unless you have 2 accounts.  Because you made one once before to take advantage of some great deal.

Not naming names or anything.....  🙄

  4. I kind of get software piracy in countries where a normal wage is something like $10/day.  You can't spend your monthly salary on a piece of software. But why would you buy it?  If you are going to get a cracked version, go find a free one. I see them around when I do google searches for the real thing.

It would really suck to save up to pay for this and find you bought malware.  At least with the free version, you get what you paid for.....

  5. One time use,  Thinking about BX Hybrid for $9.  Famous people use it so it must be good, right?

Seriously, though, I should just get a couple of guitar amps.

  6. Well, shoot! I paid $10 for one of the Lindell plugins yesterday.  It could have been free!

I don't really need any more PA stuff.  I have most of the ones I'm semi interested in.  But, I guess I could check it out.   You know,  in case I missed something my GAS decides is necessary to my continued happiness.

Hey, this was a big thing for them.

I actually heard something about this when they initially started. It was kind of a cool thing to get these old violins and celli recorded.

  8. I have a few programs, including PhotoShop Elements.  But I usually end up back with Microsoft Digital Image Suite (2006).  It still works on Windows 10 and is easy to use, for the most part.  That said, I would love to have PhotoShop, but buy the time I could talk myself into buying it (hobbyist, not pro) it went subscription.  No, just no.  If I were a business? Sure.  It is deductible.  It is probably worth it.   Corel was on my list to try, so I ordered this.  Hopefully the suggestions above will work to remove the pop-ups and it will be useful.  If not, back to Digital Image Suite......

When I think of all the "free" stuff I've downloaded over the years, I know that some of these libraries were a lot of gigabytes.  So I wonder if I had to buy an SSD just to house them.  And they were a lot more expensive in those days.  "Free" is only $100 a TB nowadays. 😃

And why I have the majority of my stuff still on spinning drives.  Only the "good" libraries that I use and really need SSD to run make it to the SSD drives.   Though it is getting harder to find 7200 RPM drives over 2 TB.  Though every time I see a really good sale on an SSD, I try to pick one up.

I do get what you are saying.  I was a lot more picky when I had money problems.  I don't think you should be going crazy buying when you have to decide between a library and eating.  Or paying your electric bill.  Contributing to an IRA or 401K is also important.  But if it is between a library and taking peanut butter sandwiches to work instead of eating lunch out?  Or hitting Starbucks twice a day for a $4 latte?  That's okay.  You choose your priorities.  But Reid is right.  Buying a lot but never using them doesn't really make sense.  I usually have a monthly experiment going.  I try to use libraries I don't normally use.  Most of my experiments never get finished because the libraries don't quite mesh or I am still learning how to write music.  But I do have fun and learn things.  And? If you really have GAS? There are a lot of free, but good, libraries out there.

But? If you have the money and it sounds good?  Go for it!  8Dio does do good choir libraries.   But they can be limited, so make sure it is what you want.

  10. Well, darn.  This is really cool.  And, you know, I think I only have about 10 prepared pianos.

I keep saying I'm not going to buy anything else.  Except maybe a couple more AA effects.  And OT's Tableau strings.  And now this.....

You all are a very bad influence......  O.o   😉

    O-M-G !!! You're so lucky, lol.

I don't know.  I'm a bit of a pack rat, and in the last few years I've had extra disposable income and there have been a lot of sales.  It is kind of crazy the number of really good sales in the last few years.  I think VSTBuzz and APD started a lot of it.

But it is a crazy mess to keep organized.  Most are not resellable. And I barely use half on a regular basis.

    Here's a tip:

When you download a new release keep the backup files in the repository for a few weeks or so. There can be quite a few updates in the first month. ( I refer to AA's new releases as 'working betas' with us customers  finding & reporting bugs)

Since the main files are still in repository only the necessary files needed for the update (usually much smaller size) will be downloaded. If deleted Aquarius downloads the full file & as you know they can be several GB's.

When the update cycle seems to quiet down then either purge them using Aquarius or by hand.

I just moved the AA staging file to a different drive.  Now I will probably keep them for a while.  I'm currently updating Pink and it is taking much longer than usual, probably due to my trashing it all.

  13. I'm actually okay with the drum kits.  I have a number of them.  They do add new ones on occasion.  I would like more midi packs and maybe more ethnic extras.

I actually have SD3 and EZDrummer 2 and end up using AD2 more often.  I do have more of their kits though.
