  1. Sometimes I want to select 2 or more tracks and hide them (particularly in the Console view.) I select the tracks and click on "hide tracks" with every key combination but it will only hide the track I've clicked on. I know about track manager but it does not solve this need. Thanks

  2. I have to use Cakeealk on two different computers.  I am thinking of putting all plugins on a thumb/hard drive and carrying it and the iLok and Waves thumb drive each time I switch. Also, there's the plugin menu layouts, key bindings, etc. These could be put on disk too.  Or maybe using a network drive to put everything on??? Please advise with any thoughts on this working or something else I could do. Thanks.

  3. In the right-click menu in the Effects bin you've added the "Delete"/"Delete All" options. Can you add a shortcut key that once in that menu you could press "D" (underscore character) for Delete and "A" for all. This feature has been a godsend. Thanks.

  4. Will the Plugin Manager ever get updated??? If so, I have the following suggestions.

    1. Search box  for the Layout box.

    2. Cut/Copy/Paste -for Layout box. I sometimes want to move or copy a bunch of plugins at a time and this would be SO helpful.

    3. A Comment "line" much like the Separation line. Or make the Separator line editable.

4 . If I try to highlight more then 2 plugins to move one of the bunch always "unslelects" itself.

  5. I have a couple of questions about the Zoom feature and using an external audio editor and making the Help box open in the Browser..

Zoom - In the old Sonar programs there was a feature where no matter where the the "time bar" is located as soon as you press Ctrl-Arrow it automatically centers where the time bar is.  Is there any way to change this?

In Sonar you used to could set up an external audio editor and click a track/waveform and send it to the editor (Audacity, etc.) and bring it back in automatically when done. You had to add this manually to the Utilities menu if I remember correctly.  Is there still a way to do this?

Help Menu - I'm trying to bring up the Help module with the tool tips inside the program but when I hit F1 it takes me to a webpage.

  6. I'm using the latest version of Cakewalk but still have problems with templates. Some are an extension of CWT and some CWX. In some places you can't even get the CWTs to show up in some places. Same with CWTs. Is there a rhyme or reason, a way to convert them, etc.?

  7. Will do. Thanks. The only related option mine has is "create a dump" file. I assume this grabs the latest dump since it would be pointless to create a dump if the program is still running  correctly (???)

  8. I have a tic from a medical condition that makes my right hand jerk at any moment. If I accidentally hit the right-click mouse button while Cakewalk is doing some background work it will crash. I will put up the error message (if it gives one) next time it happens. Any ideas?

  9. Does it seem to anyone else that the Pluging Manager needs an update/upgrade? Some things I'd like to see:

    1. Naming/renaming of separators:   e.g. -------- text ----------.

    2. Search option within both Registered Plugins and Layout.

    3. Copy/Paste of plugins in Lay out: e.g. Copy folder, Paste folder, etc.

    4. Sort only subfolders. Sort is all-or-none now.

If you left click on the plugin within the rack, and hold the left mouse button down, you can press the del key to delete the plugin.
I meant on option where you could have a modifier key so you didn't have to move the mouse down and select delete. In a menu I don't think D would do anything else. I know it seems nit picky but it would make my job much easier

The quickest way to do this I find is:
    - Right click the fx rack header, and "Convert to FX chain" - this then becomes one composite plugin
    - Click and hold the mouse button on the fx chain and press the del key (as described in the previous answer)

CTRL + dragging a plugin will copy the plugin plus all it's current settings to the track you drop it on.

They ctrl+drag I was talking about is in the Plugin Manager.

@Mark MoreThan-Shaw  had the right answer here - use the browser.

This isn't an error.  The FX rack just doesn't support multiple selection.  If you need to move all the plugins, either:

    1. Clone the track with FX
    2. Convert the plugins to an FX Chain first, and move/copy that.  You can either leave it as an FX chain, or "Extract FX Chain Plugins" to separate them out again.

I was talking about in the Plugin Manager

This is the right place, it migh be easier to split them up and make one post per request. A lot of folks add FR : to indicate Feature Request to the post title

D is already a default shortcut for the Dock, but if you right click on the plugin you can press D once the menu pops up and it will jump to Delete, then just hit enter. You can get pretty quick at this with practice and it's faster than using the mouse I find.

Remove all FX plugins would be a nice option to have in the menu

Can you clarify ? Do you mean between track folders or the plugin layout category folders in the browser ?

In The Plugin Manager would be the ctr-drag. Now it only moves them.

Learn to use the Browser instead of the insert FX menu

    That's what I do.

Not sure which menu you mean - can you clarify ?

Again I would learn to use the browser it's much faster, you can make whatever categories you want without having to worry about separators and plugin layouts

  11. How/where do I make suggestions for program changes?

Here are a few of mine.  Please  respond if you would like these features too (or if they already exist)

    Program Request

    • FX Rack
      • Create a shortcut key ("D"?) when deleting a plugin from the rack instead of having to move the mouse down to "delete" each time.
      • Option to “clear” the tracks rack of all plugins, like the "bypass fx rack" option.

    Cakewalk Plug Manager Requests

    • Drag + modifier key to copy a plugin to another folder instead of move
    • Add a Search box for finding plugins within the menus
    • Fix error: In the menu when trying to select all the plugins (to move, delete, etc.) it always leaves on plugin "unselected". If you click on the unselected plugin it will unselect another plugin from your selection
    • Make the separator have an editable name. For example, I could rename a separator "----- Opto Compressions ----" and have my plugins by type of compressor with a single folder (instead of having to make a folder for each one). As it is now I have to rename EACH plugin and tack an "Opto" onto each plugin.

    Thanks for your time!!!
