Yeah, this one sounds great. It does need an overdrive in front of it, it's SUPER clean.

The Oven by a mile. It’s the only one of these that works as a go-to, both in terms of quality and available flavours.
Thx for the suggestion. It does look like it has the more features, but it is pretty transparent. I was hoping for a bit more aggression.
I'll demo them and see what I think then.

I'm looking for a go-to saturator. I'm torn between NEOLD BIG Al, elysia's karacter, Phi'ls Cascade, The Oven and VSM-3. If you had to pick ONE. What would it be?

Excellent looking freebie!

Yeah the Firechild has a mix of Algo and Impulse response for a pretty authentic sound. Saying that I dont really use it due to latency
I think Acustica is doing the same with their latest comps. Compression was never the strong suite of that technology. TAN 2 does sound nice, though. I wonder if it's partly algorithmic.

Downloaded and tried it. It sounds truly excellent lol. It does use a fair bit of CPU.
It's neural/sampling tech, similar to Acustica. But I never heard an Acustica compressor that sounds as good as this one.

Also they did change their authorization to online some time ago! Before they were a company with pleasant file authorization, but that's gone.
"This plugin uses an online-based license registration system that requires an internet connection. When in trial mode, your computer needs to be online to use the plugin.
Once the plugin is registered, you no longer need to be online to use it."

How does it compare to Tonex in sound and CPU? That’s what I use to measure every amp sim now.Â

The scripts have always been cool, but lately the seem to be getting better and better:

CH was the soul of the company. The remaining guy(s) don’t have the vision he had. Have they even created a new library that’s at the same level of Albion or BBCSO? All I’ve seen are pianos and smaller collections.Â

Hopefully Crow Hill will keep adding stuff. The things that are available are pretty top notch, especially the piano!

If the multi-core thingy makes it usable in my old machine, I might actually get it this time around. I never felt like the CPU hit was justified based on the sound.

Code expired. "This discount has reached its usage limit".

I expected it to be some real Samurai sh*t, but it's J-Pop 😂

It does have some cool transient/sustain processing features which make it useful.

Correct, while we essentially decoupled it from ToneNET which was confusing to users the additional filtering and the layout in this update make it far less a "store" and in general it is much easier to see what you want to see with TONEX 1.5 than previously. Also, CPU usage did not double from adding any "store" to AmpliTube 5 either. Baking Custom Shop inside as an option to click was not a huge resource hog.
Sorry but the CS did more than double the CPU usage in my machine, as well as other people who have reported the same.
-
So they added a store inside the plugin... When they did that to Amplitube the CPU usage more than doubled. If it's the same I'm staying in the current version.

Thanks all. I guess I should try the free trail again.Â
I recommend you change the keyboard shortcuts to your liking immediately and watch Kenny Goia video tutorials. Good luck!

Long live the Reaps!

I'll take one too
Â
thanks a lot, that's very cool.

Bitwig's engine is broken. Take an audio clip, edit it (cut it, slip it, resize it...), bounce it. The audio will not be on time with the original clip, by quite a lot. This is Windows 10, several users have reported it. I reported to Bitwig and they asked for a project file, even though the bug is repeatable. I went back to Reaper and didn't send them anything.Â

Clearly this guy just copied without stealing 😂

@Brian Walton Brian, I am (correctly) ashamed to ask this question, but I own Guitar Rig 6, Ampitube 5LE, Bias FX and Electrum and I mostly either use the presets or use presets as a starting point. I've never even explored to see if any of them allow the use of IRs. You listed Amplitube, hopefully the LE version takes IRs too. Â
If you mean Amplitube 5 SE, it does have the IR loader. The free CS version doesn't have it.
