Apologies if my wording was confusing, I meant I have Fame already but I don't want to demo The Farm Stone reverb which I'm sure is not included in TS Max 3.5 unless I've died and gone to heaven.

Ah, that makes sense! I have TS Max 2 and only really wanted Fame Reverb, so I bought it earlier this month. But then like five days later, they announced the Maxgrade to 3.5 for a little extra money. Luckily I hadn't registered the Fame Reverb yet, so I think I will just wait to do that until the next Group Buy to get all the new stuff in TS 4. I'm both patient and cheap!

The Fame reverb is so good I'm not even demoing this one until I get it in a reasonably priced TS 4 upgrade. Otherwise I'll agonise over not having it hahaha.

You'll really be kicking yourself if you buy it separately when you realize it's already in TS 3.5!

  4. Hope this works for you like it did for me... it's a two-step process:

Visit Get Good Drums to get 2 free midi groove packs: https://www.getgooddrums.com/collections/groove-packs

Once the checkout completed, you may (like I did) receive an email for a free 7-day trial to MidiRemap: https://www.midiremap.com/

MidiRemap converts various types of midi files from one platform to another. Converting those Yurt or Ugritone midi files to Toontrack is a breeze with MidiRemap. Although for some obscure reason, Toontrack has not assigned a midi value to Cowbell (and maybe shaker and claps?). Are they anti-"more cowbell" ?

You will see that the drop-menu of possible file types for conversion is somewhat limited but it covers many of the popular drum VSTs. Also, be aware that the maximum file size for conversion is 50 MB... trying to convert Addictive Drums 2 midi packs (one file is aprox. 800 MB) to another platform won't work, at least not through MidiRemap. If someone has a trick for converting AD2 midi packs (for lazy midi drummers), it would be great if you could share.

    Happy virtual drumming!

Only through their website though. I bought SD3 from Thomann few days ago and I am not eligible for the freebie.

Below is my email with them just now:

    ‘Thank you for your email.

Our current Black Friday Week deals only apply to products purchased through our website and only from the day the deal was published until November 30th. ’

I registered EZ Drummer 3 four days ago (Saturday). I wrote them an email today and they said that because of the timing of my order, I was ineligible for the free EZX. In keeping with their reputation, such poor treatment of clients  is to be expected from Toontrack I guess.

Would love this to be troo tue :)

Someone on r/audioproductiondeals commented that an unused license key for Melodyne essential can be used as a $20 off coupon on the Celemony site, which would make the upgrade from Assistant to Editor $79. Then, you could upgrade from Editor to Studio on everyplugin.com for $125.03. Grand total to update from Assistant to Studio = $204.03. Upgrading from Assistant to Studio directly using everyplugin.com is $208.90.

I haven't tried the unused license coupon thing, but someone on Reddit responded that it worked for them. I'm still pondering my next move!

If they are really closing shop and not selling through someone else.  Honestly not sure why a company like this doesn't just release the IR packs for free download.  There is no suppot needed for such things.

I don't remember the liscencing system for software (like the IR loader itself) but of course if they have protection on the softare removing it before releasing it as "freeware" is a burden on the developer.

Actually, for a brief period prior to this week, former customers had access to download all of the IRs for free including those they didn't previously own. Not sure why they're no longer available, but the wording on the website suggests they might be made available again:

"Sorry. Downloads are temporarily suspended while we work through some issues. Please try back later."

Pulsar Audio - Free Echorec Plug-in for 1 Year (w/previously paid order)

Get the amazing Pulsar Audio Echorec free for an entire year! The Pulsar Echorec is a software emulation of the iconic echo/delay unit of the same name produced by the Italian brand Binson in the 1960s. The sound of this magnetic disk delay differs from the tape delays used at the time, and has largely contributed to the audio signature of many 70s bands: Pink Floyd, The Shadows, Jimmy Page etc. Put some mojo on your tracks now

@mibby  Trust me, I have wasted a lot of money on camera gear.

I just shot the second Madonna video.  When I put up the soft light really high, I remembered that it's not all that hard to minimize eyeglass reflections.  The problem is that it causes other lighting issues.  If I was young it would be fine but oh it makes me look like a horror movie villain without reflections in his glasses.  💀

So I put a reflector on the other side of my face and had a bounce card under my neck.  I would say that I look a lot worse than with the Elgato lights, but that's okay because the reflections were distracting and now there are less of them.     There are still reflections, but you'll see... it's a lot better.     I'll keep working on it.

Taking my glasses off didn't help because you can see the two lights reflected in my eyes, which is equally distracting.

Thanks for the inside stories Reid! It's great to hear about recent film history!

Just pointing out (like someone did for the first video) there is a sound imbalance between the right and left channel. Wearing headphones, the sound on the right side is sharper and clearer and sounds louder. The left side is more veiled or recessed, with less treble. It almost sounds like you're using two mics, one going to the right channel and one going to the left channel. I'm not sure whether the issue is panning or a mono track not being bounced to stereo? Maybe someone else can chime in with some advice.

  10. Run IK Product Manager. New Sounds to download too...
