  1. Four dollars?...Thanks monthly voucher, YOINK!!!
  2. I'm curious, are you just inquiring the process, or are you actually over using Cakewalk? If it's the later, what has driven the wedge between you and the freebie?
  3. These moobs jiggle a different story! *gyrates unnecessarily* Not so "sharp" now, are we?
  4. If you are using an 808 from a synth/instrument: In the controller lane for the synth you are using, you have to add portamento and portamento time. The lanes work as on/off for portamento and portamento time being how quick the slide occurs. However, this is dependant on the synth or instrument you are using. Some instruments do not support the portamento slide feature and whilst some do, you may have to search around the instruments options to find how to activate the capability within the plugin. Unlike FL Studio, Cakewalk doesn't have a sampler track where you can dump an 808 single shot sample into the channel rack and then trigger it at different notes with slide enabled. This is one feature that FL made incredibly simple.
  5. Just when you were wondering if they were on drugs, they flat out admit it by requiring you to also buy their dongle to use it!😂 Would love to see someone null this thing with a stock LP!
  6. Are you just looking to pitchbend it with automation, or are you after the note slide effect that a lot of FL Studio producers utilise on 808's?

  8. I would recommend buying Waves H Verb, but you can probably get the full H Series for a similar price to the individual plugs during the right sale.
  9. That series is awesome. There has been quite a few songs where I recall having seen the tab for it, but when I played it through, one part just wasn't quite the same. I always assumed that maybe the band just doubled some stuff, so it won't sound right with just one guitar? But then Beato does a physical play through and pulls out some dissonant note with a hidden rest and I slap my head, realising I have been playing it wrong all along! 💩 I think my relative pitch is only relative to parrot fashioned learning. 🤪
  10. Same. Despite owning a few plugs with his name on it, I'm not sure that I have even heard him speak before? For some reason, I dunno if it is because he has been in the software game for ages, I guess I kind of pictured a semi-nerdy dude. I hit play, half thinking I'm probably not going to watch the whole thing and two minutes in, I got myself a drink and settled right in!!! 😀
  11. The sad thing is that the original Presonus forums were actually great. But Presonus decided to go the ultra PC route and created new forums with heavy handed moderation, deleted posts, deleted threads and banning sprees. They have really hampered themselves because ever since then some of the most interesting people that were on the now archived forum, don't bother to post anymore. I can't really blame them, as too often I see something like this: 1st Poster: "I have this opinion." 2nd Poster: "I have a different opinion." 1st Poster: "I can see what you are saying, but here is a link to a site that shows why I hold my opinion." 2nd Poster: "That is interesting but I am still sticking with my opinion." (At this point neither poster has attacked the other and there isn't even a hint of snide remarks, nor sarcasm) Moderator: "This is a place for civil discussion. If all you two are going to do is argue, I will lock this thread." Everyone else who was reading the thread: "WTF???????????"
  12. I actually thought I was watching the engineer version of Scarface!😀
  13. Okay cool. What about Reaktor? Or would that require breaking the bits apart too much and creating a sort of revealing the wizard behind the curtain scenario?
  14. Well dish on what's coming up already! Surely Noel must of whispered a thing or two?!!
  15. Synchro Arts Revoice 4 will give you pitch editing as well as the best auto-alignment capabilities in the business. https://www.synchroarts.com/products/revoice-pro/overview
  16. In track view, open the "view" tab, then select: display>vertical grid lines>In front of clips
  17. With less percussive sounds you will likely find that you will have to manually place some, if not all of the markers to get a good result. With guitar you may also find that having the transients begin slightly before (or after, song style dependant) the beat marker, makes it flow better with the rhythm.
  18. I was being sarcastic. Maths can also be a complete waste of time, depending on the circumstances.
  19. They don't by default. But you can select it. What I am talking about is dry audio recording. I can't hear a difference there. Sure add some plugs that benefit from upsampling and that changes, but tracking dry audio? I'm not convinced. This is where confusion lies. People listen to 2 mixes, mixed at different resolutions and the mixes involve plugs. Of course they hear a difference. But what has that got to do with the dry audio?
  20. Only ones that are prone to confirmation bias and can hear the difference between DAWs of course.
  21. And when the human ear cannot accurately hear that difference it's called what exactly? I have tried tracking at higher resolutions and at no point was I amazed by this accuracy or science that you speak of. The only things with audible differences are synths and fx that benefit by the higher resolution. Which comes down to how they were coded. Tracking audio at higher resolution isn't science, it's a waste of disc space. Upsampling plugs on render however is a different discussion.
  22. Whoa, whoa, whoa! We want them to continue to improve the product. You can't just go heaping praise on them like this! We need to keep them in check by selecting 4% as the answer to how awesome they are. That leaves 96% for improvement and I don't even know what they can improve but they had better get on it!!!😀
  23. The funny thing with this kind of stuff is whenever an individual is administering their own tests, they say it's blind and then somehow wind up (mostly) accurately picking a difference. Yet when the tests are administered by a 3rd party and are truly blind. They somehow fail miserably, or pick a difference one day only to be fooled on another day with a similar actual blind test. This is codswallop in its yawningest form. I thought about ending it there but for those wondering why I consider this the yawningest? I consider it such because even the people who say that it is better to have the highest quality before it is mixed to mp3 are off base. As the only frequencies that are going to be effected by the oversampling are frequencies that cannot be played back in high quality by the POS listening devices that the end user is going to be using. But please by all means impress your audio buddies with your 1TB project file.😁 Which actually begs a question! Do these people try to share projects? "Yo dude I just sent you a link to my drop box, you're going to need to start downloading this morning if you hope to start adding to it this afternoon..."
