Glad to hear it.

For amp modelers you add them as fx on an audio track. If you want to use a midi controller you need to add a midi track. In the Helix native plugin enable midi input. The input on the midi track will be the midi controller and set the output to Helix native.

So, I wonder if that "audio USB Type-C" is somehow connected to the onboard soundcard or smth.. -Intended for headphones only?
Or if it can be used to connect an USB-C type audio interface as well.I'm guessing it's like a phone. My pixel 6 does both audio and digital (USB). Manuals today suck, they're not very clear about IF options. Have you checked the manufacturers website or YT for videos related to your PC?

I wasn't aware of the windows performance toolkit, that's nice.

fantastic, now I have tons of tutorials to watch, can the OS settings be saved for hypothetical formatting or will I have to redo everything if I reset?
I don't know what you mean by hypothetical formatting. The changes in Sweetwater guide and the change in bios only need to be made once.
If you mean you want to reimage the disk to its original state, the Sweetwater changes will be lost, but not the bios switch. You'd need to go back into the bios and change it back.

thanks for the info, but do you think msi's katana 17 series is good for a daw? I think it's a nice, fairly powerful computer, however I'll do everything I can to better understand the settings, it seems there are a lot of problems to solve
I have an msi crosshair that's a couple years old and it's fine. For the most part I followed Sweetwater's optimization guide.
https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/pc-optimization-guide-for-windows-10/
Check the bios and set it for performance - although the crosshair is a gaming machine the bios was set for balanced. For audio work you'll want to boot up and not run any other apps and put the machine in airplane mode. If you just booted, wait a couple minutes before running latency mon. HTH.

For the first cut of a song, I'll use BiaB to generate a bass line or drums. I also use it to generate backing tracks to practice too.

Is preset control enabled in AT5?
-
Track 1 is set to Master and Master is set to None.

@rsinger you've not had problems with Echoboy Beta. Is there anyone else who's had experience in going this route??
IIRC the problem may have just been with the vst3 version. If there's a vst2 version and you're not using that, give it a try.

Yeah, I had a problem with Soundtoys Echoboy. They put out a beta for that and it works fine. Check their website and see if there is a beta available for the plugin you're using.

I took a quick look, but It's not apparent to me. It looks like AT5 Tonex presets are different than Tonex presets.
-
I don't have the ods legends. I picked up some tone junkie captures over the holidays, and they show up.
-
In AT5 select the amp and then change it tonex, then select the tonex patch you want.

I've done a fair amount of guitar to midi, but I'm not good enough to play multiple instruments at once. I've mostly used guitar synth to record bass, synth strings, synth brass, organ, ep, synth, and so on. That being the case I didn't use mono mode much. When the VG-99 came out I switched to that and now I'm using an SY-1000. For VSTi's I'm working on my keyboard chops. Have fun!

Do you have the Yamaha audio driver installed? Are you using that? Is it ASIO? If it is ASIO you can't use the Yamaha ASIO driver and another ASIO driver at the same time.
-
Maybe a Korg Wavestation? I don't know which patch.
-
I've only used the standard version, I haven't tried the others. I'm glad you got it working. Have fun!

To record I create an aux track, pre-fader, and enable recording on the aux track and pull the fader down on the input track. If you're looping that will record your performance. That should get you started. From there you have all the features of MSuperLooper.

There are a couple things. Yes, you need input echo enabled to use fx. If there is an echo then check your audio IF and make sure that you have input monitor on the audio IF disabled, you want to hear what's in the DAW. For a simple test setup MSuperLooper for a four measure loop and enable sync. Start CbB playing and then select record in MSuperLooper. You should hear what you're playing and after four measures you should hear the loop. If you play on the same track you'll layer in MSuperLooper or you can play in another track. Give that a try and when that is working we can go from there.

? docx is an open source document format, not an executable, you can open it with ms office, libre office, etc
@Riccoboni sorry i can't help with your issue, good luck
But they can execute macros ...

I don't open executables from strangers, you may want to cut and paste the data in your file here so people can read it.

My detailed reply is waiting to be approved. Bottom line, Korg M1 and Triton vstis are multitimbral. If the extreme is different, that's a shame.
Extreme appears to be the same as the triton, 8 part multitimbral, and like the M1.

The only other multi Timbral synth I have is the Air Xpand which can play 4 parts using 4 channels.
Multi channel synths seem rare.Omnisphere is 8 part multitimbral, Kontakt is, I'm guessing Sampletank.
[edit]
Korg M1 is 8 part multitimbral.
Scarlett solo 4 setup for guitar with amplifier.

What do you mean by jack adapter? I have a Marshall class 5 head with a headphone jack on the back. To use that I use a TRS splitter into a DI box and attenuate the signal 20 dB. That works fine into a line level input.
