  1. @scook, I had just updated my original post and submitted it when I found you had replied :-) And thank you for updating your reply with the additional information since I plan tonight to go through both of your replies and use your suggestions :-)
  2. @scook, thank you very much for the reply, animated snapshot, and advice :-)
  3. I am planning to use CbB as a replacement for my X2 and Platinum, however, I would like to install any old Sonar plugins that have been included in the previous versions that I purchased over the years, and since I own many versions of Sonar then I need to know 1) How do I install the older plugins into CbB? In the past, I could just use the CD/DVD to custom install the plugins (I could select something like "install plugins only") but I have just been purchasing the online access to my Cakewalk account at the old site so this option never comes up during the download/install process, so I need directions on where in this process can I just install the plugins (I believe I can just click on any item from the list I provided for Platinum but it's the older versions of Sonar that don't seem to have separate links for these types of items). 2) How far back should I go for plugins? I own Platinum, X2 Producer, X1 Expanded, X1 Producer, 8.5 LE, 7 Producer, and several much older versions (I even own Cakewalk, lol). Thank you ahead of time for any guidance, tips, suggestions, etc..... :-) 3) Should I make sure that I include any items from this list? I believe I can just click on any of the links there and install them for CbB but I haven't tried it yet. 4) Should I install the "X2 Additional Content"? The word "additional" stands out to me here so I was wondering if there was something "additional" that I would get from installing it (I noticed that X1 has a similar link as well). 5) Is there anything in Sonar X1 Expanded? What about 7 Producer (I have the CD for that one)? 6) What about Rapture Session, Melodyne Essential, XLN Audio Addictive Drums 2 Producer, Free Rock Legends Kit 3 for Session Drummer 3, Rapture 1.22, Rapture Windows 1.22.0, Beatscape, Dimension Pro 1.5 and Dimension Pro 1.5 Expansion Pack?
  4. @mettelus , yeah, I am sure it's probably computer specific since it wasn't making the crackling sound on our newer studio computer (and I can check at a later time on my home studio computer (identical to the studio one)), however, I am just going to fully embrace Plat and CbB (I had only stayed with X2 for recording since I had taught the drummer how to use it and I would have to start over with him on Plat and CbB). @Byron Dickens, lol, yes, I agree :-) Mostly, my curiosity and OCD compelled me to ask about it since I always like to know what is the cause of technical problems. Thanks again for the replies :-)
  5. I own almost all the previous versions of Sonar and I did install CbB back when it was 1st announced as a free continuation of Sonar, but I have been kept busy with work and other things, so I haven't really used it since we have X2 at the practice studio (the drummer's place) and we hadn't practiced/recorded there for a long time (a little over a year). However, we went to a studio about 4 months ago where they recorded us on Sonar X3, so they rekindled that spark again for home recordings and I finally have the time to start the process again. Well, I reopened some old recordings and I found that there was a crackling sound (a slightly woofy sound like blown speakers) in X2 on EVERY recording where this was no issue in Plat or CbB. I was wondering if anyone has come across this issue in the past. I figured I would just keep using Plat and CbB and retire the X2 program instead of spending any real time trying to determine what the issue is here (I don't believe you could hear any kind of crackling at my drummer's place when we listened back to the recordings there (however, different computers, different operating systems, etc.....). I am still curious to hear if anyone else had ever come across this problem (I feel like I did encounter it years ago and I fixed it but I don't remember what I did to fix it).
