  1. John Vere's post is the right answer to your troubles.
  2. Midi quantize is an art in itself. It is simpler quantize audio. With Midi you have to try many times until you find what you like.
  3. Regarding moving a Bus use Alt + drag and the deal is done.
  4. Set your template with imput monitoring not checked on your mic track . When needed you check imput monitoring. Simple.
  5. It's not a question of old school or new school. I used Cakewalk for many years reading manuals and mixing hundred of projects. I've found myself using every way to do things, literally everything to achieve the result I like. Sometime the result is by chance. Other times after exploring new way to make things the result also satisfies me. There is no rule. Explore and find what you like.
  6. You can record hi hat on a track as a click track. Then the drummer can play listening to the hi hat track. Simple like that.
  7. Install the XLN installer and after that you can install XLN products that you have payed from their site.
  8. Open a new project and put everything as you like in Track view, in Console view and in Bus view using Main Screenset. For example you can start choosing and placing Control bar modules and in the Track view place the Addictive Drums tracks with icons and track colors. In Console view you can manage sends and FX effects and fixing Prochannel modules for every track. After that you can "save as" your work as template and save it in Project templates in Cakewalk Content. If you want to see this template in Smart Screen you have to "save as" it in Cakewalk Content's Templates Files folder.
  9. New project void of templates? Create your own project templates and save them in project templates (Cakewalk Content). Then you can see them on new project tab on Smart Screen.
  10. What you mean with "Fader moves are audible"?
  11. Are you using the guitar signal D.I. (straight) or with an effect like some plug in?
  12. It depends. Lately I had a song that didnt stop where I expected. I tried all the methods we can read in this forum. No envelops or anything else. Tried even Ripple edit without any result. Finally I tried an old advice (2003) by Garrigus. 1. Select the clips or track or all tracks and buses 2. choose edit > delete special 3. uncheck all options. Check clip automation for track/bus envelopes 4. click OK All envelopes will be deleted After that the song stopped where I wanted. Clearly there was an envelope that didn't show.
  13. Simply copy a track from an old project and paste it into a new track of the new project. Change volume and pan as those of the old track and open a possible plug in if present in the old track.
  14. In fact. As I wrote. now I am able to use quick groups only if I select tracks of the same type. However I remember when it was enough choosing a non selected track and with Ctrl I could move a control and all the other track controls moved together. I am sure that something has changed in CbB.
  15. I've tried and tried and tried and I did one thing that probabily I forgot. In the track view I selected all tracks of the same type and in the console view checked CRTL key and now everything works .
  16. Already done. There is an active selection but CRTL doesn't work as usual.
  17. I noticed that Quick Groups task doesn't work anymore. After pressing CRTL, if I try to move some control in a not checked track nothing happens on the other tracks. I've tried many times but no luck I tried to change my keyboard, but it's the same. Once the function was OK but now it doesn't work.
  18. BM800 mic is by far not a mic but a little toy. The same for logilink 7.1 usb. You can't pretend what they are not able to do.
  19. You are free to place modules in the UI in a way you like more. You can add or subtract modules. The next time you open Cakewalk you'll find things in the identical position as you have arranged them the previous time.
  20. A single audio click as each Project loads or closes is absolutely not normal. Please investigate this issue and let us know when you'll resolve it.
  21. You can back up Command Center installers in an external drive and after that you can delete Command Center installers. In this way you can recuperate them if something goes wrong.
  22. As scook said, the imput level received into your DAW is set by your audio interface channel's gain or channel input sensivity..
  23. If you open Cakewalk recent file and you find the message that the adio file is corrupted, the smart workaround is to convert the cwp file in a bundle file. Then open the bundle file and save as normal file cwp.
