  1. +++ HERE +++ is a link for the free AmpleSound Martin Lite. Feedback is welcome!
  2. +1. I like your idea of being able to turn off bold while editing.
  3. @murat k., Good ideas. I'd love to see this in a thread by itself. In my mind, then there would be a better chance for the developers to see your ideas.
  4. @Fran Kinsey, I'm not that familiar with your extensive use of text inside the marker window so please excuse my ignorance on the subject in advance. So you are wanting Ctrl+F to be active when the Marker window is the active window? If that is not what you want or it can not be implemented how about an alternative? It appears to me that you use the the Marker window almost as a project spreadsheet. So, here's my thought: At the top of the Marker window there are icons for "+" add a marker, "-" delete a marker, "Change Marker Properties" and "Lock or Unlock a Marker". What if additional icons were added at the top that enabled the user to: (1) print the Marker window content as a text file, (2) export the content as a text file or (3) export the content as a spreadsheet (*.XLS)?
  5. @Kurre, When I think of the word overhaul I think how I typically use the word. I think of mechanics that overhaul a car motor. Mechanics sometimes perform a light overhaul where just certain parts are inspected or replaced. Other times mechanics completely disassemble a car motor and the motor is restored to better than new condition. What's common to both a light and complete overhaul is both have task and parts lists that define the scope of work to be performed. How can the developers without knowing exactly what you want fixed in the overhaul? What results are you expecting? Is there anything else beside the incorrect note placement issue you mentioned that needs to be fixed?
  6. A win is a win no matter how long it takes.
  7. @Max Arwood, That's a great idea and one I'd root for. I think the idea is good enough it should be presented in it's own thread and not relegated to the bottom of a thread about a similar idea.
  8. To paraphrase an old BB King song title, "The Click Is Gone".
  9. Excellent work on the vocals. Thanks for posting. Love Badfinger. I like your take on the Leo Sayer song, More Than I Can Say.
  10. Very nice and accurate cover. Good work with the vocals and the string section seems to be spot on based on my memory of the song. I was not aware of the background so I found that informative. Two complaints: (1) the track begins with a click. My guess is this is due to the lack of silence leading into the start of the audio track. Some players purge their buffer before starting playback and will pop or click if audio begins before the buffer finishes being purged. (2) The overall track volume level is high relative to other audio I listen to. I don't know how close to 0db full scale you were shooting for but it sounded pretty close. Having said all that, you should be pleased with the track as it's a job well done!
  11. @Starship Krupa, How would you expect a VSTi to interpret a freeze button? My first thought would be for the VSTi to retain whatever preset, setting or preference is in use when the freeze button is enabled. Was that your thought too or something different?
  12. +1. I like the idea of a mute button on the VSTi window header.
  13. @Kevin Perry, I agree with you that it seems every effect and virtual instrument plugin specification has incompatibility and support issues. It's too bad DAW manufacturers can't create an association to create and maintain a universal plugin standard. Perhaps one similar to the MIDI Association but focused on plugins.
  14. Very good cover Andy. The vocal doubling is interesting. The guitar sounded nice.
  15. Meta, the entity formally known as Facebook, has written an audio encoder that uses artificial intelligence to encode audio ten times more efficiently than a MP3 encoder. They introduce it on their Meta AI blog here.
  16. Impact Soundworks Pedal Steel is one of the best sounding pedal steel plugins I've heard but the $179 US suggested retail price is a pretty expensive entry fee. Pedal Steel requires the version 5.7 Kontakt Free Player or higher. It also works with the full version of Kontakt 5.7 or higher. This is the only plugin webpage I've seen that actually states what instrument was used while recording the samples. The MIDI files used to create the examples are included in the download. It's worth taking the time to download the manual, look at the videos and listen to the audio examples. Another great sounding pedal steel guitar plugin is Tod's Virtual Pedal Steel Guitar. The price is $149 US but the plugin comes with a STEEP learning curve. The website even suggests looking at the tutorials prior to purchasing. Requires the full version of Kontakt 5.8 or higher. There is a world of difference between a lap steel and a pedal steel guitar. The pedal steel guitar has foot and knee pedals the musician uses to adjust string tuning in real time. The crying sound most people associate with a pedal steel is the musician operating the pedals to create that string bending effect. That sound is close to impossible to replicate with a lap steel. If you want to look at a different lap steel, Orange Tree Samples has their Slide Lap Steel for $79 US. It requires the full version of Kontakt 4.2.4 or higher. However, of the two I prefer the Indiginus product because of the interface.
  17. @c0d3r, thanks for answering both of my questions with a single answer. The screen shot helps my understanding a lot.
  18. @User 905133, I understood the time constraint you emphasized in the quote above as an either / or constraint. If I came across as argumentative, that's my mistake and I apologize. I agree with you that you did not do anything improper. My comment should not be considered as a forum "rule". I meant it as a suggestion given for consideration. When several forum members comment on a singular topic it is easier for me to follow. But when the comments flow outside the topic boundaries I sometimes find it difficult to match each comment to a particular subject. My thought is it is fairly easy for a good suggestion to be overlooked when the idea is presented in a thread I don't associate with the idea. Again, I apologize.
  19. Welcome to Cakewalk. How would you disable the auto-track-arm feature when you are past the recording stage of a project? How would you like the auto-track-arm feature to work if you are still recording (overdubs and punch-ins for example) but are also setting up mixes?
  20. I believe Cakewalk is limited to work inside the project folder. How do you propose getting around that constraint?
  21. @User 905133, While it's nice that both offline and online documentation is available I don't agree that this thread about offline documentation is the proper place to present a suggestion concerning online documentation. It shouldn't be an either /or situation like you presented. I hope you will start a new thread so I and others can discuss your idea in more detail. I do support the original suggestion of bookmarks in the offline PDF manual.
  22. For those not familiar with the original, I've posted a link to the audio here. As you can tell, stereo mixing was still relatively new in 1966. The song has an interesting history you can read here. Steve's arrangement is very close to the original arrangement.
