About the linera power supply I tried that with the Audient... it sounded worse. The best way I can describe my issue is when you take a Saturation plugin (which is just some sort of distortion) and adding some "juice" to all the audio. Sounds so nasty...

Thanks so much Tom, yeah, I wasn't a fan, then I wrote my little essay in this thread, lol. These are some more thoughts of mine: Why every single USB interface I've had sounds harsh (feels like there's added electrostatic noise or something in my ears/headphones). Just bought a Solo 3rd Gen, first impression was it sounded pretty good, then in the morning (2 am) I woke up to use it, and it all sounded harsh again... Win 10, Acer Nitro 5 (laptop). Tried a different laptop without connecting it to the wall... same issue. I've had Audient iD44, Tascam 16x08, Focusrite 2i2 1st gen, Tascam 2x2, Behringer Uphoria 404HD... All sounded harsh in some way or another. DT 990 Beyerdynamic and Sennheiser 599 headphones used. Worst part now is that even my Modi 2 USB sounds harsh. I feel that after installing the Scarlett's drivers, everything went down to hell. But it's just perception, since I really can't recall if that was the case. I uninstalled the drivers, still had harshness. When it arrived I just connected it and maybe I remember wrong but I just listened to some songs and they sounded pretty good. I feel if I bought the RME Babyface Pro FS that I will feel it's harsh too, that it won't solve my problems. Because I feel the constant factor in all this mess it's me... so maybe it's me... the issue, lol. Besides feeling some sort of electrostatic in my ears along the music (headphones), what I am calling harshness, I feel all the sound is so "tinny" as I've read on some Google results. I call it just metallic. Literally. I can feel it in my teeth too. Weird because last 30 days I wasn't having this feeling with the Schiit Modi 2 USB + Heresy.

True. The thing is also that thanks to this pandemic, dollar went up 24% vs my currency... that's just too much now... and I really want this (I love Softube too). Unless the companies right now offer a COVID19 code, I don't think I will pull the trigger on anything

Add a transient shaper to the kick and the snare separately, works wonders. Transpire from Sonic Anomaly works great.

Installing/downloading right now. For some reason it's downloading 15 gigas although I didn't tell the new installer to install that, maybe it's the new stuff? lol Whatever your beliefs are, you should get the FREE forever demo. Please don't ever complain about something free, unless it has a virus (not Covid 19 like virus, lol). Demo alone is so worth it. I suggest that you think of SSD5.5 as an ADDON to your favorite drum sampler. And I suggest you forget it comes with cymbals and perhaps toms. If you think of SSD5.5 only has kicks and snares, is great for layering with other drums (to add different flavor, texture, etc). Remember the BAD GUY song's kick drum is 5 or 3 kicks layered together. Sounds great! Right?! Now, if you happen to like more than just the kicks and snares, more power to ya!

I think I used the temporary license for years, and Covid19 wasn't here. I bought it on Jan I think, just when the Covid was live, but hadn't caused fear yet. Curious enough that I used Reaper all this time (didn't use it much, although I moved all my projects to it) because I wasn't sure if I should've gotten it or not. Tested Cubase and others, but they never seemed to improve performance wise whereas Reaper kept its small print and finally made the jump to 4K/Retina.

Power is not what I am concerned about, but clarity, punch, TIMBER (Sound Quality). If it's kind of low, that's ok, that's where my headphones amplifier comes. But I read the Babyface Pro doesn't have an issue driving 250 ohms headphones. Cheers.

Yeah, but words can't really tell if they sound great or not, that's why I am pleading you people to let me know if you find this interface's output (whether headphones or line outputs) sounding great or amazing or meh. I could post on GS too and ask there (although I've read enough replies in there too like in 15 threads, I've done my homework).

I think you mean connect the Babeface output to my Schiit headphones preamp. Is just if the Babeface doesn't sound king of great, all the Schiit preamp will do is amplify that not so greatness. But if the headphones output (or line outputs ) are clean and perfectly defined (ok, perfectly is a strong word, lol) then yeah, the Schiit will make it sound beyond amazing. Cheers.

Thanks mate, highly appreciated. Just wondering how the Babyface and my DAC (USB) can work together? For example, in Reaper, you have to select an interface (or DAC) but not both. That's my main concern.

So how on earth can I have great headphones output while being able to record amazing stuff? Is there a way I can record while listening/monitoring through the Schiit stuff? I want my Reaper output be the Schiit stuff, because it sounds kind of great. All the interfaces so far... let me say this: I though a Reverb was a smearing effect to blend stuff together... hahahah, that bad interfaces are. Also, I don't know why sometimes people read me literally, ofc I know a DAC is for auditioning... well... a dedicated DAC that is... all interfaces have a DAC. And my disconnect to the Audient id44? I just explained the whole thing on my essay, lol. Thanks for trying to help though.
