  1. I have no clue what I did but now it works.  The browser seems to have issues.

Now I can look forward to find out which Max4Live devices I bought from developers are broken.

Trying to fix software on my systems seems to be a new hobby.  I'll get bored if something actually works.

Strange. They show up here. I've got 12.0 for Windows (Build 2024-02-19_5094b92fa5) installed.

Do you have previous versions of Live installed?  They exist in Live but not in the browser.  The folders with the presets will launch them or a project file. Others are having the same issue.

  3. It would be nice if once it works for almost everyone they leave it alone.

They never really updated Massive, Waves only changed the paint on their classics, rare for a PA plugin needing updates.  They made stuff to just work.

This is a known bug and a fix is in the works. Apparently, it has something to do with legacy products which can no longer be downloaded but can be authorized still. If you turn off viewing legacy products in the settings, these go away.

    That's not working either.

Strange you guy are having problems with your update.  My installation of Native Access installed just fine and then after the update I was able to use it with no problems afterwards.

I guess some could say "strange you are not having problems".

For developers who offer dozens of products a utility, that can help users install, update, remove, demo products is a great solution. For third parties and vendors like KVR, PB and other mediators such "manager" is a way to gain more control over the software market. I fail to see how an "extra mouth to feed" could be beneficial to developers and their clients.

They are all evil.   It leaves the enduser not able to make choices.  UAD forces it's way into Windows startup.  Native Asshat forces you to update.  Then you every month you have to clear out the necessary aax plugins, vst2, then logging in to an app.

I do the exact opposite.  I create subfolders for each developer to keep things organized.  Hasn't caused any problems in S1.

I use to do that but  plugin hoarding made too much work for that.

  8. We don't tolerate the language used in your original post.

Post that triggered the warning:> My kindness has exhausted. I have 3 machines and have yet to have 3 of 3 installs go flawless. My only fix has been to remove it and use the legacy installer and then download the newest and sometimes that works. Wasn't the update suppose to fix that problem. Once again I suggest being able to download updates without this app. Most developers allow this. Popularity is dwindling. [Headline edited by Moderator. Watch your language !]

    Permission Problem

    You are banned.

I just need a far more higher level of tolerance for incompetence.

The only issue with Asshat is installation.

Nah, it's just another crappy software manager totally uncalled for. All my software is perfectly managed and doesn't require another manager to manage existing managers.

Unless they are going to introduce bargain prices for industry standard software solutions on a rent-to-own basis, I don't see any reason to even look into it.

This is the new thing these days  The sad thing is eve good developers do this.

I do own the upgrade but I am so conservative that I probably won’t upgrade for about three to six months to let things settle down. I still have a lot to learn in 11 Suite so no hurry.

Demo was cpu heavy and I got an email from a vendor that some 3rd party Max4Live will not work.  Abelton will fix it.  They are one of the rare developers that when there is a new release they drop working on the previous version. They still improve Live 11.

    3.9.0 - 2024-03-06

    ADDED / IMPROVED

Made the NTK Daemon backwards compatible

Improved the way Native Access determines products as a subscription vs. perpetual

Added the ability to directly open standalone Applications from Native Access

Added EULA consent to the start of Native Access

Several accessibility improvements to the navigation to and navigation of the download manager area

Consolidated Splash Screen into one window

    Several infrastructure improvements

Added My Account section in the preferences

Moved Manage Subscription and Logout button to the My Account section

Added indicators to products owned through subscription services for extra clarity

    FIXED

Made adjustments to our activation diagnostics

Addressed an issue where corrupted installers were being downloaded

Addressed several accessibility bugs where content was not properly being read out

Library tab now hides products that are part of a cancelled subscription

    KNOWN ISSUES

When Legacy Toggle is on, could show an empty product entry. This entry is not replacing an existing product.

I wouldn't put money on it.

If you get into video editing, a RTX-4xxx card is nice.

    I've got that mini-ITX build with 14700k and a RTX-4060Ti (16GB).

    Amazing performance for the size...

I avoid it.  I barely know how to use DAWs.  I think think it's the most overpriced piece of hardware.

I assume that's for the Standard version? That's crazy. The upgrade for Suite is 159€ though Standard users actually get more new stuff than Suite users.
Standard users get four new instruments, Suite users get two new instruments.
Standard users get seven new packs, Suite users get four new packs.
Standard users get one new effect, Suite users get one new effect.

The upgrade for Suite users should be cheaper than for Standard users.

It never is.  The only real value in Suite is Max4Live.

I was trying to remember the name of the big sampler back then -- Gigasampler! Thanks, kitekrazy.  A trip down memory lane. I just want to give a heads up to our fellow forum members so they don't spend their hard earned money on libraries older than artists on the modern pop charts. Hey, buying vintage physical gear like guitars, drums, synths, effects can be awesome.  Sample libraries of guitar, drums and keys from the 90s that were going after realism do not hold up well. I imagine some of the synth ones would still be okay, but not for guitar,  piano, bass, drums, harmonica...

Sonic Implants and Sonivox are the same brand.   The old Sonivox libraries are part of Air.   They still sound fine but the rompler is outdated.

I have some of those libraries on CDs somewhere that I bought long, long ago. These libraries were literally created in the 1990s by a company called Sonic Implants. I really loved Blue Jay Drums back then, but we are light years beyond that quality level today and you can easily find vastly superior sample libraries for free from Native Instruments, KONTAKT developers, SoundPaint, Spitfire, VSL,  etc. If this was a small developer I'd never be this blunt, but this is InMusic, one of the biggest players in the industry -- and company that serially buys and neglects old software (and hardware) brands as cash cows and neglects them, or has even made them worse (I saw that from first hand experience from owning AIR and other plugins that had major, show stopping problems after InMusic bought them and proceeded to make their software buggy, unstable, or completely unusable; BFD has been so neglected since InMusic bought them that they've been on version 3 for more than 10 yrs and have had major issues with stability that the development team has publicly acknowledge, that's made the plugin unusable for many users; even satisfied users don't have delusions that the plugin has stayed up with competitors; so yeah, I'm not a big fan of InMusic's software).

So, to anyone considering this, I'm posting this as a public service. I think it's at least 15 years PAST the time that these libraries should have been retired, They're simply relics of the past that aren't anywhere near today's standards.  I'm sure if you could find an old copy of the original Cakewalk forum -- and KVR -- you could find a posts from me recommending some of these libraries. But today, even selling them for 5 bucks seems questionable. It's like selling AOL dial up Internet service circa 1995 against free fiber internet service. I don't believe an informed consumer would blow 39 bucks on this. Spending 39 bucks on actual tacos would be a far superior use of that money. Then go check out the free alternatives that are far superior.  I created a couple of threads in this forum with my top choices of high quality free libraries.  Anyhow, that's my take. If this was 1999, this would be a worthwhile deal, but not in 2024. Not even in 2014.

I'm pretty sure the orchestra sounds in Live Suite are from Sonic Implants.  They aren't that great in Live.

Sonic Implant was real high end libraries back in the Gigastudio days.

What Terry didn't mention is the 3 days for $15 is a $15 a month recurring charge for membership in BandLab's Backstage Pass.
It is NOT a fee to solely "unlock" Sonar. There's more included, its basically the paid BandLab membership.

    t

Well that's a difference.  There so much speculation but little info when it comes to licensing.  Everyone fears the sub model and I wonder how many subs it takes to justify them.   When Waves tried the sub only model which I'm sure was a kneejerk decision have they recovered from it? Not from me.   Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom was a bargain at 10$ a month but check the price now.  People eventually leave subs.
