Awesome!  I love this style.  Over the past month or so, I watched a few of those YouTube videos about Kensington - I knew things were bad these days, but had no idea how far we had fallen.  Great lyrics and I love the music changes when the 'She didn't even get to say goodbye,' part started.  Great job!

Thanks Steve If you scoll through you`ll find the Kensington Avenue master mixdown  , Its certanly better than this mix , and yes Its a sorry state down there every city has its own Kenny town ....very difficult to manage ...lets face it these people dont vote .....so I dont see politicians doing a great deal .......cheers paul

  2. Thanks Mark and Tim,

Yeah Ive got admit that on this one I took my time right from the beginning , I took all the reverb- room effects  and played along with a dry drum so as to hear the beats`` in yer face and clearer´´ made recording  all the instruments easyer , took the advice given and didnt over think the mix down thanks for commenting Paul

  3. Hi Chaps , well I took on all the good wishes and good tips and didnt mess with this song in mixdown i did add a few  bits `n´pieces , and re sung some backing vocals in middle before the solo , Oh and re recorded a couple of barres of the hammond , didnt have to tighten up the drums on this one so I`m rather pleased......cheers P

  4. Hi Chaps , thanks for the encouraging comments , I really enjoyed recording this one , once again I never know where its going . I was looking for a chorus and a hook but it just didnt arise so I just went with it  as it is  , And thanks Bruce (much easyer to write than noynekker ) thats good advice as i`ve just finished the mixdown , All it needed was a tickle of both Eq and a little bit of tube emulator no compressor and that was it  , funny you should mention ``Midnight flit´´ thats the most hit on song`s in my catalogue , I dont understand why really its not a pop song or a catchy tune ..so there`s still a place for songwriting  after all , cheers Paul

  6. Thanks R Stjohn, well aftera couple of hours trying almost everything ,Ive ..wait for it ....deleted the 6 quiet 4 barre paterns and copied ..the same patterns that were` nt quiet from the same song and copied and pasted them in the 6 ofending paterns ..and guess what ? ..perfect vollume .. there must be an explanation for this but I´m not going to look for it ..i´m off for a beer .....thanks for taking the time to reply ....cheers paul

  7. Hi chaps This is really confusing using edz added different types of fills from different sources ei. fills from americna , beats from session and it seems although Ive marked and copied the whole song in ezd and dragged them to a midi track on cakewalk  some mesures are louder than others ,if that makes sense ? Ive tried going back and increasing the velocity to the offending patterns to no avail ?? any idea`s ..thanks in advance paul

@Paul Bush Hey Paul solid backbeat now ! Feels much better, drums support that amazing guitar . . . curious listeners may want to know, did you just rework the drums, or did you use the  @JohnnyV method of dragging guitar to the timeline to create a tempo map ? Either way, you got a solid result . . .

Hi Noynekker, well to be honest ,I just marked dragged the finished song drum patterns from EZdrummer 2 to the midi chanel  like the first time, its possible that the first time it wasnt tight to the start line ?  I then used the midi map to cut and add some fill beats and that was that it really , some of the fills in EZD sometimes just dont work so they need some tweaking , and as you know I´m not much of a tweaker , I turned up the backing vocals and the bass and panned it slightly right and that was that .....Thnks for the nice comments as I said its good that you all keep me on my toes , much appreciated ...paul

  10. Hi chaps , due to popular demand I gave this one another bash , I´m really thankfull for all encouragment and intrest from all, of what i feel not worthy  , so I hope this is an improvement , once again cheers to you all  ...paul

  11. Hi Guys ,Once agian thanks for all the input .... well Ive been hard at it just tweaking the drums (fills) (EZdrums 2 ) and then in the midi channel and then cleaning up some slightly sloppy playing ie bass and guitar , moving the beats around in the midi channel is so time consuming but I think  i may have have cracked it (playing a hell of a lot air drummer)..cheers P

  12. Wow thanks guys ..yeah as always there´s some cliches in there . i had a lot of fun not trying for 3:30 minute song and just going for it...with my secondhand mexico strat and my new harley benton bass , recording took a long while not because it was difficult but because we`v had another really hot summer here in austria  and the studio was unbareable , once again thanks for all the positive input ..I´ll post again soon thanks P.......ps if anyone has the time to point out exactly  where the problem phases are  please fell free  Ive tunneled vision etc

  13. Oh well , loved that bloody great snare , recording was really out there , had a great live sound and then not , and yes there`s a zappa influence in there  for me ..saw him live in the`` london oval ´´ many years ago....... over 7 minutes didnt seem a second too long ..great stuff cheers paul ..Oh great guitar work ..

  14. Well thanks Jeff, and Earcandy , for those encouraging comments, as i said it stared out its life as an over complicated thing and turned out fine getting back to basic`s ,(I´m happy to be stuck in  the seventies, early eighties time warp ) I kept it as basic as  I could but still needed over 25 tracks (thats a lot for me) I`m  pleased with the drums being seperate 9 channels  gives them a super sound and moving them around giving space for other instruments etc   still learning by doing  so I took my time and  had fun , thanks for taking the time to comment .Paul
