  1. I've just updated my BBCSO Discover from 1.5.0 to 1.7.0 (thru the Spitfire portal). Cakewalk says it failed to load (80004002) and is visible in the vst scanner both VST3/2 and says the Vst 3 may not be loaded correctly. It loads fine in Studio One Artist and in Komplete Kontrol. Never had an issue with this before, So a bit stuck what to do as I use it a fair bit. Anyone else have an issue?

Anyone else have difficulty installing this update?

I hadn't updated my melda fx in a while, but when I did the installation it just gave me an empty folder for 16.8

I tried installing the previous build 16.7 and that worked just fine.

Any ideas on why this might be?

Same for me. Had to revert back to 16.07

  3. Well that was weird. I d/loaded from 16.07 to 16.08. Ran the installer (VST3) it placed the folders into the Program Files/Common files /VST3  and every folder was empty. Tried a second time with same result. Reinstalled 16.07 and all was back. No idea why.

  4. Welcome to the KVR Developer Challenge 2023, the ninth free-for-all audio plugin / audio application / soundware design event.

The "KVR Developer Challenge" is for anyone who develops Audio Plugins or Applications and Soundware. The challenge is to create and release a brand new free audio plugin, application or sound library / pack / set that will benefit the community at large.

Creativity is key, it can be as simple or as complex as you want - KVR members will vote on the entries and pick the eventual winner using whatever criteria they choose to.

This year there are 23 entries across Windows ,Mac, Linux etc

  5. I've found I have got a lot more out of it than expected. And the extra samples (500 vs 120) and the fact there are free packs for the full version as  well has its appeal. I agree about upgrading to what I really want/need. It's why I have backed out of upgrading from NI Komplete Ultimate 13 to 14. I don't see enough to warrant it. Maybe next time.

  6. Like many I got Lunacy Audio Cube Mini as a freebie (and later andexpansion as well). And I like it.

I've had an email from PB with an exclusive upgrade offer to Cube full at 66% off .So it come out at £48 ($60). That looks ok to me considering the full retail is £157 ($179).

    Anyone else get this offer?

  7. I'm stuck a bit here. If the new Sonar has new quality instruments and effects. And is a reasonable price. Then I would give it a serious look. (but not if subscription).

I also got Studio One Artist 5 when I bought a new audio interface which I have installed but never use (or understand). If Cakewalk by Bandland is dropped in favour of the new Sonar. but still functions. If truth be told. I think it's at a level that I would not need to switch at all. But continue to use.

Can someone tell me what kind of accent the speaker has?  It almost sounds like a British Empire accent, but it has what I hear as a broad "a" sound, like a Southern drawl in the US.  So, the first person singular pronoun doesn't sound like "eye" but "ahhh."  Likewise, "right" and "route" sound almost identical to me, that is, as "rahhht" for both "right" and "route."

Also, "our" is almost identical ("ahhh"); "armed" is similar ("ahhhmd"). For some reason, though, "likewise" sounds to me like "lahhhkwyze" not "lahhhkwahhhze."

Not making fun of this, just hoping that if I can find out what is going on (de facto pronunciation rules) it will make auditory sense to me.

    It's South African.

  9. As stated by PavlovsCat. I've been using them since they were known as Kontakt Hub. I have many purchases from them (primarily Kontakt). And in fact they are my first port of call when looking at small one man developers. And some real bargains are to be found (I think Ben Osterhouse was first posted there for example).

They are the sort of place that when you are fed up and short of money. You can spend your way to happiness!. Recommended.

    Hi

I really like this - great track - the bass (rubbery sounding) is cool

Definitely a bit of Tangerine Dream in there I thought, which is excellent

    Cool

Thanks BB. Yeah the bass is a combination of Xperiments and Cube mini. And I had the "frippertronics" buzzing away, twiddled with both until it just fellt right and "liquid" enough. Funnily enough you are not the first to mention TD to me though I have none of their records. But very aware of them.
