@TracingArcs   You are aware that it's still illegal to even give away the software. Not that is matters because Cakewalk is free but you just shouldn't have said it publicly. You can always PM other members.

Also you can get in touch with Bandlab and they will help long time members get at their legacy Cakewalk products. They still had access to the old servers.  I wouldn't drag my heals because that might change as they obviously are now using a different server.

Thanks John. i was uncertain to be honest (hence why I asked about the original DVD installations). Have edited my response.

  2. I picked this up today at PB for the same price (went to PB because they also give UJAM Mellow 2 as a freebie with it). It has potential. Need to doddle with it more.  But like all United stuff. Stable, and interesting UI.  As stated lots of presets. And capability of randomising the s**t out of it.

  3. Just a word of caution regarding the update to Kontakt 7.6.1 from 7.6.0. On the NI forum many are experiencing high CPU loads and other anomalies. And i have experienced the following. There was an update to the Play series Glaze and Melted Vibes to 2.0.0 plus the Kontakt update. So I updated Kontakt to 7.6.1 and the Play series to 2.0.0

Kontakt then said when I tried to import both of these just to see what was different. Stated my version of kontakt was to old ?????? And unable to use them.

The solution is to download from NI a retrograde to 7.6.0  This fixes the cpu issues and strangely enough both the updated Play series open in 7.6.0

The retrograde to K7.6.0 is available here if you need it https://community.native-instruments.com/discussion/17691/kontakt-7-6-1-update-causes-cpu-spikes-crashes

  4. I just d/loaded it. And it's good. I did a demo of the original Xperiments which they used to illustratethe instrument, and it is very similar. They went off the radar recently. And now it seems to be a one man operation. For a freebie on Kontakt (not player) it has potential with lots of twiddling available.

  5. Updated this weekend and Analog Dreams, Etheral Earth and Hybrid keys will now only open in K7.6 and not K6. NI did not specify it would do this as far as I know.  be aware anything using the above Play Series that was conceived in K6 can no longer be opened in K6. And must have K7.6

  6. Ok. Something is up. I cannot login with NA2. It just says it will not start. But had no problems yesterday or last couple of weeks. Are they blocking access ? Anyone else with the issue ?

  7. Good Grief that was a wild ride. I think NI will honour their own software (I saved £60 more than the summer of sound sale on the update to K14U - Installed!). But third party items look a bit sticky particularly U-he stuff with regards to his statement.

I was sorely tempted but stuck to the one purchase.

  8. I've RX7 Elements as well. And the standalone part is essential. I was tempted by this but rather like some of the recent iterations of Elements. They seem to be less expansive then expected (I know they are cut down versions but the new ones seem pared to the bone).

  9. I bought a boxed version of ST2.5XL years ago (that was a difficult interface!). And moving to Windows 10 trashed it. So installed ST3/4 CS and used the 2.5 samples in the new interface. Agree the new interface is poor. I use only a couple of sounds. And prefer the diversity and the ability to expand cheaply or for free  of Kontakt. I'm not sure that even at this price it is a long term viable product.
