  1. Sorry to hear Dave, friends are hard to come by and old friends even more so! Bill
  2. I got a 25.00 and a 50.00....how's that work? Bill
  3. Happy Birthday...installed? Bill
  4. My first build many moons ago wouldn't power up....forgot to put the standoffs in so the MB was contacting the case Put the standoffs in and voila! Bill
  5. I think when I upgraded my Win 10 to Pro it just enabled the extra features? Bill
  6. The laptop came with Win 11, the desktop I built so I bought Win 11 for that. I haven't had any troubles and it's been about 6 months or so on the desktop and even longer on the laptop. Bill
  7. My DAW went from Win7 Ultimate to a new system running Win 11 and my laptop went from Win 10 Pro to a new one running Win 11...overall I like Win 11 more than 10 but miss the control of Win 7! Bill
  8. I didn't like the context menu on right click...got tired of hitting more all the time so I used this to restore the old contextul menu- Restore old Context Menu in Windows 11 Right-click the Start button and choose Windows Terminal. Copy the command from below, paste it in Windows Terminal Window, and press enter. reg.exe add "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32" /f /ve Restart File Explorer or your computer for the changes to take effect. You would see the Legacy Right Click Context menu by default. The Registry change masks the new COM object that executes the compact menus with the "Show more options" entry. Once you get this performed, Explorer reverts to the Legacy context menu. Restore Modern Context menus in Windows 11 To undo this change, in an elevated Terminal Window, execute this command: reg.exe delete "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}" /f Restart the File Explorer or Computer for the changes to take effect. These steps can help you to enable the old context menu in Windows 11. I also edited the location of the toolbar items...I have them on the left where they belong....you can look that up if you're interested. I bought a new laptop and built a new desktop so they've only seen Win 11...I actually like it better than 10...though it's not a lot different. Using Google Play on my desktop is cool Good luck! Bill
  9. Wavelab integrates with Cubase and you can send audio files back and forth the same way you can with Cakewalk and Sound Forge. For mastering you would setup a montage which allows full control over each track or parts of the tracks for fades, fx, etc. You can generate a DDP file, export as mp3, etc. Personally I like that if I don't use every feature it's still there if I need it in the future...beats buying new software every time you want to do something not in your current program. With Nuendo there's a few things I'll use now but I'm thinking about making vids in the future and Nuendo will be handy! Bill
  10. https://forums.steinberg.net/t/nuendo-12-crossgrade-question/783283 I took it from there...hopefully it's right! Bill
  11. I think I'm going to crossgrade my Cubase Pro 12 to Nuendo 12...from what I understand I'll still be able to run my Cubase 11 Pro and older with my eLicenser and my Cubase Pro 12 will remain active and upgradeable...got that from a Nuendo guy at the steinberg forum. Bill
  12. Wavelab is a digital audio editor, a mastering solution, file conversion, podcast audio...basically everything you need to supplement your DAW. Crossgrades usually require a serial and it will take a day or two for them to check and approve your purchase Bill
  13. Ambition and 2 Expansions for $51.60 Bill
  14. 15. Oh, upgraded to iZotope MPS 5 Universal too so...no more dinero for a while Bill
  16. I took the plunge the other day....I updated from Samplitude Pro X3 Suite. Samplitude was my backup plan for Sonar. It seems like a pretty powerful DAW but it was really awkward to use so it was back to Sonar....till I crossgraded to Cubase Pro 10...I have 12 installed but haven't tried it yet...still running 11. I really want to spend some time with Samplitude to get more comfortable with it but it will be the backup for Cubase Bill
  17. I'm still using the FXpansion versions of BFD2 and BFD3 in Win 11. Never had one issue! I saw too many problems with the inmusic changes and never updated. I don't know what I'd use if my BFD's stopped working...nothing else impresses me much. Bill
  18. I would move everything back where it originally installed. Then open Native Access and instead of Install choose Relocate and choose where you want each thing, basically the master folder everything goes into Bill
  19. So what happened? I saw a locked thread with a newbie giving Larry some bs but other than that I'm left wondering. Bill
  20. You can authorize to as many machines as you want, just plug in to the one you're using...the only issue is when people want to "test" the software on their friends machine Why does anyone need to run the same software on more than one machine at the same time?? Bill
  21. Explain the single machine to me. I have a bunch of Steinberg software and everything is loaded on two machines. I just have to transfer the eLic to whichever machine I'm using. Bill
  22. Started writing and recording this today...definitely a work in progress- Bill
