What's different is that instead of custom wave shaping you have an XY pad to combine different distortion types. What's added is the multiband for the convolver and an XY pad for that too. So it seems like a good plugin but not as good as Trash 2 because of all the missing features.

I wonder if they will add the missing features in a future version.

  2. At first glance I’m not wild about an organ soundbank from Toontrack for EZKeys 2.  Because the soundbanks for EZKeys in general have never been the draw, instead the magic is the tool itself and the midi that we can put together.

I am, however, quite intrigued about midi packs specializing in organ phrases.  I might grab the organ soundbank because it may accentuate those midi packs.  Very interesting new addition to their line up!

  3. @Soundwise - I had the same experience- no sound playing single notes.  I ran out of time trying to determine my user error. I did watch the Walkthrough vid on Silk (which is of course well done).  Single note playing is demonstrated in the Walkthrough. I just need to learn which button to get there.

  4. Unify overall is a great value and a super creative enabling musical tool.

I wanted to not like Megamagic Guitars 4 - Old Strings because I play guitar already, and as a guitarist I prefer not to have old strings.  But he did it again - another magical pack!

  5. @Realto - wacky!   It was. not an issue on the Mac.  Looked great, sounded great.  But then I clicked on Preferences just to see what was there and on display I saw an option for Responsive.  I tried that to see if I would get some screen scaling or something.  Nope, it locked me into the same issue I had previously on Windows.

But!  I discovered tonight (after much frustration) the following.  Just as a Hail Mary I loaded the Audio Unit version.  It actually loaded with a giant screen, but did reveal the menu on the right side.  It allowed me to change back from Responsive to Standard.  Once I did that the VST3 version worked again for me on the Mac.

The Positive Grid developers have gone off the rails on this display thing.  Otherwise it's fantastic and my go to for an amp sim.

Been waiting for this.  While not as much as I hoped, still appreciated.
Note that code/voucher is good till Jan 31st.

Thanks for the tip about the end of Jan. I didn't notice when I received the email.

Had the SAME problem! Fortunately, I figured out a workaround.

    • Go ahead and do their recommendations and then, when you're inside of Studio One...
    • insert it as an effect where F12 shows/hides it when toggled.
    • Then, switch the view to a different track,
    • then switch back and viola! You should be able to see every part of the display  including the right side which was previously completely hidden.

If you can't get it to work, let me know and I'll provide a more in-depth response. But since I'm not even sure if you're even going to see this , I don't see the need to shout into the abyss.

    Hope this helps,

    Paul

Paul - thanks much!  Great to know. I had followed their instructions and had no success. But you’ve presented a new tip here which is great.

Personally it just so happens I’m now in the midst of switching from a Windows machine to a Mac.  It may be a non issue in the first place on the Mac when I install Bias FX 2.  But I’m not there yet. I’ll know soon enough!  If it’s not displaying correctly I’ll have your tip to try.

  8. Leapwing tools are pricey overall admittedly.  Good to see the discount.  I have picked them up over time.  Of plugins I have, I actually use the Leapwing plugs on every song.  For my mixes, they make the sounds better.

Well, I just checked every Avenger expansion. Sadly for me, almost all of them are indeed dance oriented.
Lots of acid, disco, doorstep, drum & bass, hardstyle, hip hop, house, moonbahton, psy, rave, techno, trance, trap, tropical and whatever EDM genre you’d like.
It’s obvious what Avenger’s main orientation is and I’m definitely not into that.
Furthermore, the few non-dance Avenger expansions I could verify are clearly not on par with Falcon’s huge library of ambient and organic patches and expansions like Fluidity, Plurality, Ether Fields, VOKLM or all the Simon Stockhausen collections.

@Fleer - if you become familiar with Avenger, you can simply turn off the arps and suggested patterns. What you get then for each preset is a wonderful palette of well-curated sounds that work together to use as a starting point of a song with your own ideas and your own playing.

  10. I have Avenger 2 now.  Loading it, it requests the Factory Content.  Where do you download the factory content from?  I'm searching all over for it to download fresh from Vengeance.  Anyone know?   I have the Avenger 1 content, but this new version has new content I believe.

Oh! I found it!  It's in the Expansions area.  It's listed alphabetically, under the Fs.  Vengeance sure could make that more obvious!
