  1. Note: If you updated Pigments to Pigments 5 last week and updated Analog Lab so that Pigments 5 works with it, check to see if you already have the current version of Analog Lab ( 5.9.1.4493 ).
  2. You might want to bookmark this topic and check it regularly so you don't miss the announcement.
  3. I would rather have them do an updated Command Station clone that includes updated sampling functionality based on the Emulator Ultra product line.
  4. WOW!!!! I haven't seen that album since college (college radio station days). Pretty sure this one was on our Top 36 List. Not sure if I was music director at the time. Totally forgot about that album, but we played it!!
  5. I hope that one is not from the waiting area in a hospital's Emergency Department!!!!! 😮
  6. DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles), DSS (Department of Social Services), or a similar place where people wait in line, get assigned a Letter/Number based on what they need to do based on going to the initial sign-in desk. Depending on what needs to be done people look at their ticket, watch the monitor, listen to the announcement or "ding" (if there is audio), and then report to the designated Window (or Desk) when the number is called. Do I win a free "Go to the Head of the Line" Lifetime Pass? 😉
  7. Emphasis added: For the fun of it, I downloaded two free Microfreak sound packs and read the Readme.pdf file that tells how to install them. I saw no instructions on how to install them in Analog Lab. But I don't have a Microfreak. Maybe @shawker does? QUESTION: Does anyone with arturia hardware know if hardware specific presets show up in Analog Lab if the hardware is on their system?
  8. I re-read all the posts in this thread (didn't watch the videos, though). It did bring back memories. I haven't used Dr. T's KCS or my Commodore 64 (used for the KCS) in multiple decades, but re-reading the thread was nostalgic. No desire to run KCS or Cakewalk for MS-DOS, though. I think a filmmaker wanting to recreate scenes from bygone eras might want to make use of the software to run ancient software. Someone wanting to open a museum (or do a historical you tube video) to showcase ancient music software could also use it. I know Cakewalk for MS-DOS came on 5 1/4" floppies, but vaguely recall either CPW 3.0 or 3.1 came on 3 1/2" hard-cased floppies. If so, I could try to run it just for the sheer fun of it since I do have a usb 3 1/2" drive. Not a top priority for me, but I'd be mildly curious to see how much CbB's Staff View and Notation Printing has changed since then. (CPW had them both, right?) HISTORICAL NOTE: Just found my boxed up Cakewalk Professional 4.0a Sequencer. It has two 5 1/4" floppy floppies (1 program disk, 1 utilities disk) and one hard-shell 3 1/2" floppy disk. The mild curiosity has passed--no desire to even see if I can make a backup copy with my 3 1/2" usb drive much less to try to see if I could run it.
  9. I don't use the Step Sequencer but picked up Haunted Guitar Lite to give it a try. After inserting the Step Sequencer, I found the default range was too low to trigger notes. So I used the MIDI Tab in the Track Inspector to push the range up 24 half steps. Hope this helps.
  10. I saw many more new FREE preset packs than previously. However, they are for Instruments and Hardware I don't have.
  11. If I had those errors, I'd Google them. Sometimes power cycling something (such as a modem or router or my PC or Browser) or changing a setting on my PC will fix those issues I am having which get reported in such a way that I wonder if it's me, my ISP, or the server I am connecting to. Sometimes I check Google "Is __________ down [right now]?" Hope this helps. Oh. I just found this page at Bandlab when I Googled "Is Bandlab down?" just now. Maybe the links on those pages will help.
  12. I don't use take lanes, but I did explore them for my own potential use a bunch of years ago. I used the field in each take lane for my notes about each. Item J in the Figure in the online documentation shows the "Comments" field. https://legacy.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Arranging.47.html
  13. So, I just finished up letting my 5 track, 8 measure loop time out on all the demo instruments. The transport kept on playing but with no sounds. I tried to make it crash, but couldn't. Earlier I tried booting Mixcraft 9 Recording Studio which I got as part of a Humble Bundle, but it never finished the VST scan. I like the Arturia synths I have used. Hope they can figure out what's going on so you can use them.
  14. Thanks for the details. I have several Arturia in synths as demos. I can try with those. To do a comparison, it would be good to know if you exceeded a time limit or something that goes beyond the terms of them demo when you X out or close the GUI. Addendum: I replaced all synths with ones I have no licenses for. One by one I saved each version. So far I used Factory patches. I did not attempt testing with edited patches. No crashes so far, but some of the instruments stopped sounding.
  15. I had trouble with Pigments when they changed their GUI (early 2023 IIRC). No crashes, just solid blocks of color (or grey) instead of the usual parameter animations. Arturia attempted to help, but I think it was because of my graphics card and a lack of support for newer graphics extensions. I solved the problem by reverting to that last version of Pigments that worked on my PCs. I update Analog Lab Pro but for editing sounds I use Pigments itself. I will try CZ V and SQ80 V with the last version of CbB. UPDATE: Just did a quick 8 measure, 4 track loop (CZ V vst3 & vst2, SQ80 V vst3 & vst2). Opened them, closed them, resized with two different methods, moved onto and from Mon 2, etc. The only thing I noticed with the UI is that when instantiating the CZ V vst3 and the SQ80 V vst3 they seemed to hang on too long as white UI windows before the full UI showed up. (I also noticed that the new versions have a more colorful preset category column (browse-by-category mode) than I remember. UPDATE: Just added some noodling (5 take lanes) with Mini Freak which I only have as a Demo. VTS3 version also stayed white for longer than expected when first instantiated. No crashes yet.
  16. Never mind. I thought you were saying you wanted the old version of TTS-1.
  17. As for CCs, I have had Voltage Modular send CCs to VST Instruments hosted in CbB. I have never tried to use Sysex commands the way you describe. I have used Cakewalk/Sonar to capture sysex banks (bulk data presets) from hardware. Also used to use Sysex commands to change parameter settings mainly on Roland gear (MT-32, CM-64, M-GS64, RA-30) and E-Mu gear (Proteus, P2K line). I have done sysex bulk data dumps to and from my Casio VZ-8m for sure; possibly a Korg EX-800 . I have a few software synths that can send and receive sysex. I remember when I got the VirtualCZ I sent it some sysex dumps. I would have loaded the data from sysex dumps (syx files) into Cakewalk or MIDI-OX. Correct me if I am wrong--you want to do two different tasks (1) bulk data storage and retrieval and (2) realtime parameter control. I have been told that Cakewalk/SONAR CbB cannot receive MIDI Time Code data (bytes that consist of or start with 0xFn [hex]) and echo that out. Based on that (since sysex commands start with 0xF0 and terminate with 0xF7) I suspect what you want to do with hardware wouldn't work. I have the Fury-800 and possibly the FB-7999. If you post some valid sysex bulk data dumps, I can test them. As for real time control of soft synths from the hardware (assuming they have the ability to send sysex commands on the fly when you use the controls) or vice versa, I doubt CbB can do that. Addendum: After installing the FB-7999 and setting it up to send sysex from its UI parameter changes, I don't see any way for CbB to echo sysex commands in realtime to hardware.
  18. For more forum posts about Stagecraft, here's a link to a search,
  19. Also: [image showing 41% level deleted] Master Tune in Automation Lane. Approximating 420 Hz seems to vary with different sample sets and the effects either on the samples or in the synth-engine (not sure which it is).
  20. Thanks for the tip about using the Track Inspector > MIDI tab > FX Bin method. When hybrid tracks (audio + MIDI) came in, I just continued to use methods that were familiar to me. For my needs it was so much quicker to split tracks than to spend the time to do a deep dive into the Inspector. Also, finding out that the Inspector-based Arpeggiator had some very specific MIDI flaws on my computers further discouraged me from using the Inspector for anything but very simple things. Now that I have been spending time making use of software synths over the past several years, having the ability to add MIDI FX without splitting instrument track by using the Inspector will be a timer saver for me!!!
