  1. Thanks for the clarification. BTW I don't think your math is "f-ed up" at all. I do a very similar comparative thing with IK. If I have already paid multiple times to "own" 90-95% of a bundled set of products and someone owns just one of those, their cost per new product is a very tiny percent of my cost per product I don't have. For X units of currency, I might get 4-5 products I don't already have, but for the same amount of money, others get 150+ products they don't already have. Therefore the deal is worth more (i.e., more valuable) to others than to me who already paid 2 to 3 times as much for the products. So, to me, it's brilliant, sound consumer-oriented logic! 😉 And it helps me to not spend money that could be better spent!
  2. The last I checked, Ultimate Bundles for Third-Party Voltage Modular developers also include new modules at no extra charge. There are only a few developers that have Ultimate Bundles and also make new modules (I counted three), but this is another precedent to including new modules. In addition, some third-party VM developers have smaller targeted bundles (which are included in the Ultimate Bundle) and when new modules are added, they also get added at no extra charge to the respective lesser bundles, much like Melda does. KV331 Audio does the the same thing with their Synthmaster Everything Bundle. One of the hard lessons I've learned is that similar bundle labels from various companies that might imply some sort of completeness do not have similar consumer-oriented practices. JMO: It is a great service that forum members provide by helping others to see this. "Consumers of the World, Unite!!!"
  3. Not sure I understand your situation. If the only thing you added to V Collection 9 was Acid V and your upgrade price is now 99 instead of 199, you got a 100 off.
  4. V Collection 9 Upgrade from V Collection 9 to the V Collection X $299 V Collection 9 Upgrade to the V Collection X $199 Two offers for me. Not sure what the difference is between the two, but they are both beyond my budget. I think maybe the $299 offer is from V Collection 9, and the $199 is from V Collection 9. 😜
  5. From what I have seen there are a number of reasons covering a wide range of motives. But I'm saving up my thoughts for an April Fools' Day post. 🤪
  6. Which version of the Cakewalk Command Center do you have? I have the version that was installed with CakewalkCommandCenterSteup_1.1.8.1. It works just fine here. As I recall previous versions stopped working to due to website changes (that is, when older stuff was moved to an area designated as "legacy"). The new was posted so we could access the same content but in the new "legacy" location. (See below.) If you have the current Command Center software, contact customer support to see if then can reset your password. Final thought: If you have a Rolodex (or similar system), you might want to keep track of you passwords there. Then the problems become (1) remembering what things are filed under, (2) reading your own handwriting, and (3) age related finger stiffness that make thumbing through the cards increasingly painful.
  7. I didn't analyze the complete midi test files derived from my basic *.cwp test file, but (1) the Save As Midi 0 file, (2) the Export Midi 0 file, and (3) the Export Groove Clip file, all contained the same Time Signature meta data bytes. I'll let someone else analyze the other differences if they want. This makes sense and helps explain why BeatBuddy might have more success with exported Groove Clips. Glad to hear you found a solution that meets your needs.
  8. I don't know how you get from being not interested in Bandlab's other services to R.I.P. unless you have made some assumptions about what the product and pricing options will be when the new products are ultimately released for sale. Of course, there's been a rash of speculation going around.

  10. FF 58 04 07 03 0C 08 = 7/8 FF 58 04 01 03 0C 08 = 1/8 FF 58 04 03 02 18 08 = 3/4 FF 58 04 01 02 18 08 = 1/4 FF 58 04 0F 04 06 08 = 15/16 FF 58 04 01 04 06 08 = 1/16 FF 58 04 02 02 18 08 = 2/4 FF 58 04 04 02 18 08 = 4/4 Hope this helps.
  11. Is it possible the BeatBuddy's real time Time Signature mode setting changes how BeatBuddy treats SMF Time Signature meta data? The above is the result of a very simple test file I just did in CbB which I Saved As as MIDI File Type 0. There are many online resources that explain the meta markers for standard midi files. Here's one for the time signature meta data.
  12. Just a guess: Because the Membership is a Bandlab (the phone/browser) thing that was available to people who use Bandlab. After that Bandlab (the company) decided to offer the experimental/sort of early access versions of Cakewalk Sonar and Cakewalk Next to both Bandlab users and CbB/SONAR users. So, they came up with the Backstage Pass as the vehicle to do that. Maybe they did it to be sensitive to the needs and desires of Bandlab and CbB users who were getting antsy and wanted some early release hands on software?
  13. In my experience, background colors always affect the clarity, visibility, eye strain, etc. for foreground colors. There are even website design sites that discuss these things. I haven't looked at them in a while, so unfortunately I don't have any links handy. So it might not be your eyes. PS: I used to have a tool that would let you pick up a color (like with an eye dropper) and show you the breakdown of the component colors. You could try to find one of those utilities to check it for yourself. PPS: < from the button. < painted in rectangles using MS Paint. The green overlay of the track actually changes the color of the button. Hope this helps.
  14. The way I read it, you can get 3-days of using all that's included with the Backstage Pass, after which there is a monthly charge (unless you pay for a year's worth of the Backstage Pass).
  15. I guess I can erase my text-based instructions on how to find the "purchase it here" button now that there's a video.
  16. It is not very difficult to follow the links. It sounds like you already went most of the way if you found the same membership information I found: (1) Start at cakewalk.com. (2) Click on the big Cakewalk Sonar Button (Hotspot Image). That takes you to cakewalk.com/sonar, (3) Scroll to the bottom and click on "What is Backstage Pass" (it's in the FAQ section) where you will see: Don't have BandLab Membership but want to check it out? If you have a BandLab account, you can purchase it here, or learn more in the BandLab Membership FAQ. based on my experience, if you are logged in, the purchase it here link takes you to your own Bandlab Page with a large "Power your creator journey with Membership" that has some details, prices, and a way to sign up. In this overlay, I clicked on the Backstage Pass button (which you might have found) and it took me to: bandlab blog page that has details, phone images, etc. in a Bandlab web-page. (4) I think maybe you are looking for the purchase it here link with the power your creator journey dialog. Sorry, I can't post a direct link since it is linked to my account. Not sure if there is a direct link to the purchase it here link for people without accounts (other than the Get Membership button on the bandlab blog page. (See UPDATE.) UPDATE: I logged out and discovered that the purchase it here link goes directly the standard login dialog. So I assume that that the Backstage Pass offer requires an account before you can get to the purchase it / get membership access point. Maybe once the new products are released there will be marketing directed to people that don't already use Cakewalk products and therefore have an account.
  17. My experience: Sometimes they get it right the first time; sometimes they need to get info from others; sometimes there are no answers. I am sure that in 2023 they changed graphics libraries or services or something for Pigments so that the mini-displays no longer work on my PC with the hardware, chips, drivers, graphics card/software I have, but I gave up trying to get them to tell me what they changed and what the new minimum required specs are. So for a while, I used and older version of Pigments to tweak and design presets, but allowed Analog Lab to update (or vice versa). But that was with Pigments 4 and to get the new features in Pigments 5 (and the new Sound Packs), I had to update both Pigments and Analog Lab. I suspect issues related to logging in, sync, activation, reinstallation, the routine use of ASC, has been asked so many times, they know the drill and can send out the right set of instruction, answer questions about those issue, etc. As far as the kinds of things I needed to know, they tried to help and even elevated the issue to provide details about graphics cards settings / services. But I was unable to find out what was changed from the version that worked to the version that first stopped working or any ideas on what I needed to look to get a new graphics card. As I said, in my experience, sometimes they get it right the first time . . . . I hope your current issue is in that category!!!
  18. Are you asking about the successful sign in, but machine registration failure? Maybe a year ago, I had an issue where starting a synth didn't automatically launch the ASC/Verification process. Not sure what happened, but I e-mailed Arturia support, they gave me a set of steps to follow, I followed them, and after that launching the synth (I think it was Pigments at the time) the instrument successfully completed the Arturia Sync process. I don't recall if I had the same wording that you have (the bottom line). I'd look for the steps then sent me, but I think it would be better to ask Arturia. Thinks might have changed plus my set of steps might not be the right solution for what you have.
  19. For a 32 preset freebie, I found more presets to mark with a preliminary heart (favorites) than I would have earmarked on the first pass with some of the larger sound packs I considered for the 1/2 price sale. Yes, by and large they are not as "fancy" as some presets designed to showcase some of the "fancier" virtual synths, but I found more useable ones that don't need the kind of tweaking needed to customize / tone down the busy-ness that can clash in the context of a composition.
