Contemplating using my $50 voucher on this. Hmm….

    Softube Amp Room $41

Sooo…. I just tried Amp Room on my Studio One 5.4 Pro (Windows 10 Pro) rig and it uses a much smaller slice of CPU than the current version of AT5. (Peter-you guys have to fix this!). Perhaps influenced by the rainy, cold, meteorological malaise that is afflicting me in LA right now, I have succumbed to this deal (including Bluesbreaker) , with the SSL Drumstrip thrown in for good measure. Out till 2022….. which hopefully is not a repeat of the last two years!!

    Softube Amp Room $41

Ok, only question now is whether, even at this price, it’s worth it for another big CPU hit plug-in. Yeah, I know I can render, but gets in the way of my work flow.

    Softube Amp Room $41

When I click through, I see it for $59, not 19😟
  6. Hey thx! Gotta run, but will check it out this afternoon. At this stage, for me, it’s not even a question of “wants”. If it doesn’t meaningfully expand the palate. I find that having too many choices, for no good reason, impedes the process.
  7. Related question: I’ve got AT5, Scuffham, and some Karzog stuff. Does Softube bring anything different and worthwhile to the table? At this stage, for me, just being another “tool” is not a sufficient reason to purchase.
  8. 50…although medical consensus moving toward 45
  9. Happy Birthday! When you consider the alternative, getting old ain’t so bad😆
  10. Tempting to me too….hollow…with P90s! no less. I think I’ve been staring too much at Lennon’s old Epiphone Casino in “Get Back” .
  11. A bit PA weary….and a bit weary of spending money. Took the Rat and DS-1 emulations for free…and I’m out.
  12. Interesting. They must have revised this, since the freebie back on Black Friday was just one of the verbs for each 99 plus purchase.
  13. Just made a $130 purchase from them (including this code). When it asked for freebie selection, it looks like they gave me the entire HOF Vintage Legends Reverb set, not just one of the verbs. Maybe they did it because I already owned all but 2, but still a nice double freebie.
  14. Speaking of ST and SYN 2, have all the kinks been worked out for going from SYN 1 to 2? Without reading through that epic original thread, is there now a preferred straightforward way of doing it that works best? Thx!:)
  15. Went through process......still waiting....
  16. Just did a little reading on the 32c in an August thread on Gearspace (with dev participating) and it appears that saturation, noise and summing characteristics of the console are not modeled in the strip. Not saying that’s bad, just something to be aware of,
  17. Is the Harrison strip just supposed to be a good sounding strip or is it supposed to have the “sound” of the console itself?
  18. So this is a plug-in that can be used in any DAW, not just within the Harrison DAW?
  19. Larry is certainly correct about this. Acon used to have a similar approach, but I’m not sure that it is still the case.
  20. As an update to this, I was unable to use the $10 code to WUP, but I was able to use it to complete a bundle.
  21. Unfortunately, doesn’t sound stupid at all. Many of my older Waves plugins are too small to read on a modern computer. Omni is not terribly small, but it is rather congested, so could use a boost to the bigger size . So I guess my choice is WUPing that for about $3 (assuming can apply $10 off to WUP) or spending about $20 (after $10 off) to complete one of the smaller bundles, which would have the net effect of making the GUIs of about 3 plugins (that I’d actually use) readable.
  22. I’m in this same boat
  23. Love Toontrack, but it would be nice to see EZ Drummer and Superior being pushed by other drum programs out there to improve in ways such as you suggest, and otherwise. As it is, their competition seems to be falling more by the wayside every year. (I believe Superior does have the scaling feature)
  24. Hmm…. I don’t see that in mine. Looks like I’m still at 3.60.
