  1. Stupid Question: Can this be bind as a shortcut? I'm lazy to grab the laptop to check for this, because I missed a lot of the RWC23 in France so now im trying catch up on some highlights. 🙂
  2. Have you tried to check if it is in Interface mode? Close everything, open up Cakewalk and then put your R24 in interface mode and see if Cakewalk detects it.
  3. Hi Jonathan, great to hear from you. Yes, I went through the Start Menu option clicked on uninstall but it took me to the shortcut icon. There was no uninstall file in there - which was weird. Though when i did remove every instant of Next i could find, my issue was resolved.
  4. You might have a faulty disk. My issues where my projects load long was always with a plugin. I had since deleted that effect permanently. You can test this by pressing the bypass shortcut for effects with the lettet "E" on your keyboard, save the project and reopen it in that state with all your effect bypassed. If it is a favorite synth: make a copy of the project and just replace the the synth with any other one save that project and reopen it again until you find the culprit.
  5. We've all had this issue before. I certainly have at least twice.
  6. True. I think Mark will be up any moment now.
  7. The stock gate plugin that comes with CbB works great. Its my go to gate plugin. I could use othere, but why when the one built-in works just as great as the others.
  8. Just remember you do get ghost peaks as well and It wont be audible until you do your processing. Even when recording at levels of -18dB you get ghost peaks that hangs around at -3dB or -6dB. Its the flaw of the digital age, Your levels might look spot on with the Daws meters, but within the plugin it will show something different.
  9. 🤣 Practice is key here. Thats why we use EQ to bring it back to life. Dont compress at this stage - only tame when printing it. Make sure all your Pro Channel effects are off. Mine is totally disabled - meaning the module has been removed.
  10. Dont sweat it. No I mean after you have recorded the vocal with the tamed effect on. You first record the wet vocal where you tamed the peaks and harsh SUBTLE is key here. Aim for a gain reduction between 0.0db and -0.5dB of compression and print that to the actual vocal. You dont want to squash the vocal going in. Then, do the actual compression to get the vocal to sit right in the mix with additional compression IF needed.
  11. 😌 It will sound even better when you do the actual compression to it. 🙂
  12. All good. 🤣 Recopy my previous comment. I have edit and added some information to it.
  13. Yes it will. You will have both Dry and wet Vocals. Just make sure to Arm both. I normally dont need the Dry vocals when i do it. I tweak my effects while the artist do test runs. The trick is to create extra headroom with the compressor while uou let autotune run in the background on the arm track. So what you get is a partially tamed vocal. The goal is to only tame the peaks of the singer. Ydont want to compress here. Just tame those harsh frequencies with a Deesser or EQ and tame the peaks with a vocal compressor. I normally target for anything between 0.0dB to -0.5dB gain reduction.
  14. Yep there is. I record my artists or snares with effect to tame the peaks. Step 1: Create your recording track. Step 2: Add your desired effects and tweak them to taste. Step 3: Add an extra Audio Track>Go to the newly created tracks Input and create a NEW PATCH POINT. Step 4: Go to your recorded track and sent that to the New Patch Point. Step: 5 Arm Patch track and start recording.
  15. Velocity indicates how hard the key was struck when the note was played, which usually corresponds to the note's loudness.
  16. Had to remove all Cakewalk Next files from the system to fix my issue. Removing it alone without doing a reinstall of CbB solved the problem - weird.
  17. Coming from the road and finally back in studio again. I've downloaded the 2023.09.62 Started a project today after a week being at home and the moment I put a plugin in linear mode it distorts. Heres the strange and weird part - I literally only have one plugin on. Tested this with two other plugins - issue. I thank started a new project and used a sample with one track added one of the plugins placed it in linear mode, but doing the same thing. Thought maybe my drivers got corrupted, uninstalled then reinstalled it and nothing. I've never had this problem before. Ps: The only thing I did was installing Next. Which I see now does not have the uninstall option. It also installed in the Cakewalk Folder? UPDATE: After many attempts what worked was to remove NEXT. Reinstalling Cakewalk did not fix the issue while Next was in the Cakewalk folder or different folder. The fix was to completely remove all Cakewalk Next folders and registry files.
  18. In the console view highlight the tracks you want to adjust the volume to. Hold down Ctrl and move a slider on one of the highlighted tracks.
  19. It is working perfectly fine myside. Maybe you're not doing things right. Show us your Quantize window setting.
  20. You might want to copy and paste your feedback on the discord platform in the link given above by Noel.
  21. Where can we give proper feedback on next?
  22. Next is out and in BETA mode and for the past 24hrs I have been testing and creating some tracks. So far i am liking the look and feel. What i am most impressed with it, is the fact that it handles live performances ten times better than CbB. I was jamming with it, did some DJ work with it and for two hours straight it held its own on major projects. That is a huge positive side to it - really impressed! It took me 5mins to figure out its workflow. I love the new Sampler and Xsampler features. Great new stock plugins. Everything is so straight forward, but there are some downsides, drawbacks, cons (what ever you want to call it) to some features that can be improved. Such as the Track Pane that is not Scalable. It crops the window/pane instead of resizing the plugins and effects on it to smaller. The height is perfect though. Also theirs NO console? Perhaps I have missed this one, but I couldnt find it. Arranger Pane is there for those who use it. I wont use it as a main DAW though, but for mobility use like writting demos or features when collaborating while travelling - for sure! For now i am still testing it out looking for features that might have a different names and taps. Heres what i can tell you upfront! Its gona pick up popularity with the EDM community! I already have gotten one other producer to try it out.
