Two vst3 synths "TyrellN6" and "OP-X Pro II" when trying to open them through the browser, the Cakewalk is closed. The "OP-X Pro II" when I try to open through "Insert> Soft Synth" the same thing happens. I used these synths normally, however, after I updated the Cakewalk, it started showing this problem.

    What alway works for me:

Move your DLL or Vst3 files to your Desktop and scan your Vst folders. When that is done - move the two file back to the paths it was installed in scan your Vst Folders again. If this dont work for me a re-install of the problem plugins or CbB does.

    Greetings to Cakewalk Team!

I use cakewalk since 1999! I love this DAW and even if i think there are other good software out there, I simply am unable to switch to another DAW...and don't need nor want to anyway. Cakewalk does the job marvelously! This being said, here's a suggestion...

-Bus Folders in the console and track view : Folders wich also act as an aux track or bus...with all the functions (like Reaper...sorry about that!)

-In the console view, putting  ''Delete Send'' , ''New Aux'' at the beginning of the scroll list when you want to delete a send from or add an aux to a track.

Requests are to be placed in the Feedback Loop Section (click here)

This thread is for feedback on the EA.

Confirmed. It actually worked fine at first as the default setting is OFF.

Once you turn it ON it can't be turned OFF again. Selecting a note will turn it on automatically.

Good! Thought I might be too overly excited for this release and might miss something. 😂

Seriously: I don't think there's anymore requests left for us when this update gets officially released once it's stabled. 😐

    Problem SOLVED!

After almost a hair pull of frustrations - culprit has been found. My antivirus blocked the installation process. Thanks for the replies

Super pleased for the long awaited feature of the interleave on instrument tracks. This will make my mixing workflow much more fun and exciting! It literally solves 70% of my requests. Thanks a bunch guys!

    Great job team.

Please note that the installer now tries to install a Microsoft Webview component that is used by CbB. This installer will download what it needs from Microsoft so if it appears to be stuck its likely due to a slow internet connection or internet connectivity issues.  32 bit is just the Cbb installer thats normal.

Here is a manual link to download the Webview components if its not downloading. Download and install the 64 bit fixed version and after that our install should go through.

Hi Noel. Connection speed my site are running as it should. Maybe the Microsoft server for the webview components?

    Will keep the team informed.

For those of you having apparent installer hang issues, please try installing this Microsoft redist first:

    https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=2124703

The CbB installer may be appear to be hanging while downloading this new dependency. Please let us know if installing the dependency first resolves the issue for you.

Hi Jesse. My machine is always up-to-date - this was done on Tuesday.

Haven't install anything lately as well. Have the latest Netframe5.0 installed.

Will definitely keep the team informed when this is resolved.

SO, I've just bought an XLR Rode NT1 mic along with a M-Audio 192 6 Audio Interface and was excited about recording with less background noise than my previous USB mics!

But since getting it, I've had a hard time actually recording! I was using Audacity and Cakewalk previously, so I tried recording on those, ultimately gave up and downloaded Pro Tools (since it came with the AI), had even more errors, so I decided to come back to Cakewalk since I figured at least I'd know how to use it once I got rid of the errors, HA!

I'm operating on a Windows 10 (64 bit) HP laptop. I downloaded all the M-Audio drivers and had hoped I'd be all set to go!

LatencyMon told me that "One or more DPC routines that belong to a driver running in your system appear to be executing for too long. At least one detected problem appears to be network related. In case you are using a WLAN adapter, try disabling it to get better results. One problem may be related to power management, disable CPU throttling settings in Control Panel and BIOS Setup. Check for BIOS updates." -- To which I did disable CPU throttling in the Control Panel, but not through BIOS as I don't think I have that option?

I downloaded the ASIO4ALL driver, but I can't seem to set my output settings to my laptop speaker, so I can't use that as I don't have a compatible headphone to connect to my AI, so I've been using WIndows WASAPI.

In Audacity it'll just stop recording randomly.

In Cakewalk, the errors that I will constantly get are

    - Unable to open audio record device (even though no settings have changed)

    - The above audio device was disconnected from your system (happens during the recording multiple times)

    - Audio Engine dropout errors (I literally get SO MANY of them - 0, 14, 15, 16)\

Any and all help/tips would be appreciated!!!

You need to set your sample rate in windows the same with that of your interface. 16bit/44.1khz or 24bit/48khz

    Read here

Make sure to uninstall ASIO4ALL from the computer completely. M-Audio comes with it's own Asio drivers and it way better than Asio4all that cause issues with every interface drivers.

Also make sure to update your laptops usb drivers.

@Will_Kaydo - can you send this project to @Jonathan Sasor so we can take a look at it?

    Thanks.

Thanks for the response. I don't have this project saved, but im sure I can send a fresh one - with a cut on any sample.

To fix this: After making your cuts - you have to zoom in and either crop back or add a filler for the length to fit the bar.

You can't just do your cut; crossfades, bounce it and loop them. That zoom is required to fix things.

    I'll send a project in a minute.

  9. This is a problem. Cutting is not accurate as it should be. This cause timing issue later in the project. This wasn't the case in the previous version 2020.11.90

Stumbled on this while messing around with some beatboxing.

Hello there! I am using old Sonar X3 Producer (pre-Bandlab) with my Focusrite Scarlett 18i8. For some reason when I use some/most of the Cakewalk effects it causes clicking in the Audio. I have tried every possible buffer size, to no avail. I'm in need of the Perfect Space Reverb and Harmony Engine. Both are un usable at the moment. I have also tried unclicking Enable read and write boxes for Caching under File System. Any help someone could offer me would be fantastic! Thank you very much in advance!

    Jen

Have you tried changing your sample rates to 16bit?

Also change the buffer size of the 18i8 higher. 512 or 1024 should do the job in X3.

I have Windows 10 and Realtek Audio with current drivers.  I loaded Cakewalk but have been having nothing but problems for hours (technically days).  I've been out of the game for a long time but used to love Cakewalk back in the early 2000's.  So when I heard it is still in use I was excited.  But can anyone help me get Cakewalk to work on my laptop?  My error says:

"The following driver either does not support the current audio format or is in use by another application."

I've matched the sample rates to 48000 and selected my Realtek ASIO HD Audio for the input and output.

Cakewalk won't even play the demo songs when I open them.  Does anyone recognize this issue?  I'd really appreciate any assistance any of you can lend.

Download Asio4All (Click Here) for your computers Onboard Realtek Device. Best drivers for laptops if you dont have any outboard equipment connected to it.

    Hello peepz,

Just like to ask your advice pls on how can I create a loop with a one shot wave file (see screenshot)

I'm planning to match it with my current project tempo and time signature but no such luck using Audio snaps and Loop construction :(

Tempo is 51bpm with time 6/8 time signature.

    Many thanks.

    loop one shot shaker.JPG

There's two way you can work this. The first one would be the one you asking on. To do this:

Highlight the clip, right click on it and select "Groove Clip" in the menu at the top.

    Alternatively:

One I always make use of - that's basically printed in muscle memory - Again: Highlight the clip, hold down CTRL and hit "D"

    Enjoy.

I am running into audio dropping out when I attempt to either:

    • Play a cakewalk project (any project with any complexity)
    • Record a track in a cakewalk project

This is on a new computer, replacing an 8 or so year old computer. That old computer was able to play those files fine. The new computer, even when I 'freeze' the tracks in the project, it is unable to keep up/dropping tracks periodically.
I have tried all of the following steps outlined in the article at and more: https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013007/Audio-Dropouts-Clicks-and-Pops-When-Playing-and-Recording and https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360021858253-I-m-experiencing-latency-or-audio-dropouts-while-recording-

    1. Increasing the 'safety' of the M-Audio M-Track Quad/increasing the buffer time.
    2. I have increased the Hard Disk Buffer Size to 1024.
    3. I have turned off Windows Defender real-time scanning, turned off any/all miscellaneous services running, etc.
    4. I have turned off any/all other sound cards on the system to ensure none of them are interfering in any way.
    5. I have tried replacing the Aud.ini file from my old computer to my new computer.
    6. I have installed/reinstalled the sound card and am using the appropriate Asio setting in Cakewalk for it.
    7. I have reinstalled Cakewalk.

The new computer in question: Windows 10 Pro with an M-Audio M-Track Quad. The M-Track Quad has been installed with the latest drivers (pulled from the site https://www.m-audio.com/support/download/drivers/m-track-quad-windows-driver-v2.9.64). I have no problem opening up any of my files, and they all appear correct. The only difference is my old machine was running Win 7 and this one is Win 10 Pro. The new machine is (obviously) much more beefy than my 8 year old computer - and it ran fine on that one.

    Any thoughts?

Make sure the sample rate in windows 10 are the same as that of the settings in your DAW and Audio Interface - Visa-Versa. That's always the issue with dropouts with Cakewalk. All three mentioned, need to work together.

How to change "sound control panel" settings in Windows 10

Right-click the Speaker icon in your system tray and click Playback devices.

Select your speaker, then click Properties.

    Click the Advanced tab.

Click the drop-down and it will show you the sample rate and bit depths options.

Make sure your interface it's plugged in to the correct compatible ports  - either 2.0 or 3.0. Uninstall "Asio4All" if you have that installed.

Try these steps too (Click on this.)
