Um no changes here, its done this since the SONAR days or earlier. We disallow changing instrument track input ports while playback is underway since there is a lot of rewiring that has to happen. Its not something that most users need to do.

    Oh. 😊

So there's no way this might change in the future?

it's linear while the levels are not hitting the top or bottom levels, after which it is proportional, but within range, the relationships stay the same (for me). the example below - originally 0db, -4db, -2db; drag down 0db to -2db, and the -4=-6db, -2=-4db. so for me it's operating like i would expect.

I don't think this is what @micv meant. I too find the way the envelope works in CbB to be annoying.

To be clear: there's nothing wrong with it's functionality, it works as it's suppose to.

When you select multiple nodes to move at once. There are times it does not move simultaneously in value and find that it's off by 0.2dB, OR, 0.1dB, which i find odd. I developed the habbit to check each and every node properties, to make sure their values are the same. It's frustrating when this happens later in the mix when you make changes. Then there's also those times when it moves nodes that was not selected - making changes to nodes at the top, when you're changing values at the bottom of the envelope.

I don't lease beats like the OP but I do have to upload deliverables to publishers / music libraries etc.

Some of them do ask for " track outs " which is basically every track isolated with all your automation/fx intact.  The reason they ask for this is their clients ( usually TV or movie production companies  ) want more control and the ability to rebuild the mix and deliver custom mixes after the fact without the need to go back to the original producer.

These tracks can get licensed into a TV show or Movie a number of years down the line so having the track outs is a valuable asset to the Publisher and means they can offer more tailored Alt Mixes and charge more for the service.

The original Producer also stands to benefit by having more chances to get their music placed so it's in their interest to provide what the Publishers specify but it's a real PITA to do this by soloing each track as most track counts are at least 40+ .

Luckily some companies only want Stems ( i.e. Bass - Drums - Guitars - Strings - Keys ) and they can build a more crude custom mix from those which means there's only 10 - 12 stems to export on average.  Currently the best way is to use Track Folders for this IMHO ( see above ) but sub folders would be a massive help as you often have to sub-divide stems as well.  i.e  All Guitars ( Main Folder )  - All Lead Guitars ( Sub Folder ) - All Rhythm Guitars ( Sub Folder )

At the moment you have to deal with this manually.

I too am in the world of leasing tracks and tv, where clients mainly ask for tracksouts. I'm with @Noel Borthwick on this one. Why is this still a discussion? It's right there in front of your eyes when you export your final mix. Nowhere near am I meaning any of this in a negative way.

Cakewalk does and handle this extremely seamless

Cakewalk gives you the flexibility to do this from two options.

I normally do this with "Bounce to Tracks" and when i'm ready to export: I set my Source Category to "Tracks" and my Channel Format to "Follow Source."

Reason why I don't choose "Clips" as my Source Category in the Export Dialogue Box: Cakewalk does not rename clips when you rename your Tracks. So, if you forget to go up to tracks and select Copy Track names to Clip names (which I normally forget to do seeing that in my mind this needs to be done automatically by the DAW when you rename your tracks - that clips should follow) you will end up with unnamed clips reading "Record 1 to Record 50" if it's recorded information.

Or just don't bother too much with the names at all - do you really (honest question this) find the names of a clip that important?

Yes! I create 100's of stems a day.

Renaming Tracks and Clips are extremely important to me for visual purpose and copyright.

  5. I think I'm over worked.

New update seems to restrict users from routing "Audio Track" inputs to an instrument output when playing the track.

If it's stopped, routing is possible.

Not sure if my memory is serving me correctly (Middle Age,) but i'm pretty sure this was possible while in playing mode up until 2020.11

I started noticing this since the release of the first 2021.01 test and hotfix releases.

No other DAW that I have ever tested or used has such a cool support for tempo/audio snap!

FL Studio does whats in discussion ×100 better!

Really don't know why examples of other daws always have to be brought in. It does it either by Clip or Global setting.

if we wanna change the degree of the curve after a while, we will have to deal with all the additional nodes that we added for the "perfect curve"

"Hence:" to why I said it's a stretch!

5 years doing EDM in Cakewalk, well - you get to pick up a few extra skills drawing things in.

FYI! I merely just stated, that it is achievable doing it "manually" until this gets implemented.

Control points allow users to create Gate/Step/Tremolo/Sine/Wave filters by Snap setting, ranging from a whole Step/Beat 1/1 to 128th OR to the smallest/shortest Tick settings.

This allows you to create interesting sounds on a single note (between the nodes) or the entire clip.

    Thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean by Automation Curve Point.

He is referring to a "control point" that typically defines a continuous automation lane. Creating a linear or discrete lane.

It alters a Sine, gate, wave, pulse, step, stairs and step filters, all with snap notes using a control point within the automation lane that you either drag up/down, OR, left/right to create your Step/Snap Filter, OR, "Gate step." In EDM, it's also being used with Sidechaining for ducking the bassline/synth strings.

Currently we have to manually draw this in.

This is actually one thing cakewalk do not have. We can't create a tremolo effect with Automation.

  10. Request for Track Names to be automatically copied to "Clip Name" upon renaming tracks.

It is suppose be done by the DAW, instead of the user having to do this manually every time a track has been renamed.

How in studio one something like that? 286745863_tempostudioone.thumb.jpg.2df5ba1c4d2c87a6bc0c4e0fc98b4447.jpg

We can maybe refine this idea and to figure out how to make best tempo track from all DAWS. We need figure out idea best Tempo track from all :D  But tempo track is crucial feature. Would be nice to add automation to master tempo :D

Exactly like that, yes. With individual clip tempo speed setting too.

Global Setting is available in CbB, just a hassle at times and super outdated.

also i cut/pasted not wanted plugs to external drive and when i start cw it states i have 735 plugins which has erased some of me plugs and they are still are listed when i go to insert a effect.jack c/

It could also be that you have the 32bit versions of your plugs installed that are not removed. Go through your "Program Files" (x86) folder.
