  1. MusicDevelopments Anniversary Sale With 40% Discount April 4-20! RapidComposer v4 (music prototyping): $199 $119 RapidComposer v4 LE (music prototyping): $79 $47 Melodya (motive generator and editor plug-in): $49 $29 Syne (modular additive synth plug-in): $89 $53 Fyler (modern file manager for media and metadata): $39 $29 (intro price remains until April 20) More info: www.musicdevelopments.com
  2. Voucher codes for expansions have been on sale at KVR for a while, at rock-bottom prices. For anybody thinking about jumping into this deal you may want to check those options too (note: you won't get the SM 2.9 -> SM 3,0, and you won't get any new expansions - as you would with an everything bundle, don't forget to take that into account when comparing)
  3. The first 3 minutes are a little too basic for people in this forum, but the remaining 17 minutes is all great examples of actual use
  4. 🙂 Now available for even less at JRR Shop with code GROUP (e.g., $62.37 for deepremix) https://www.jrrshop.com/hit-n-mix-ripx-deepremix
  5. This weekend - Electro: Electric Wonderland $4.99 for the commercially licensed option (or $2.99 for the non-commercial) https://producerplanet.com/us/article/electric-wonderland-4437/?license=commercial_unlimited This soundpool contains all loops from 'DanceElectro Vol. 4', 'Electro – Dancetronic_pt.01' of 'MAGIX MUSIC MAKER 2006 / 2006 PREMIUM'
  6. It can make your voice get a really nice "polish" as you hear in their videos. It's not a voice impersonation device as if you had hired Cameron or Greg to do the voice over, it will still be your voice. An hour ago I was playing the results on the speakers and my wife was nearby so, I asked her what she thought about my recording. Her reaction was "oh, I thought it was someone else speaking, but now that I'm paying attention, yeah, it's you" Greg would be a good one to try. The other capture I was trying is Marc Daniel Nelson. I think that a key point is getting the spectral print from source material that is well produced. A podcast by a music producer or a sound engineer is likely a good bet. A high-budget movie should be a good source as well.
  7. My new favorite Plugin Alliance plugin is ProAudioDSP DSM V3. I had to record a training video recently and I wasn't very happy with my voice (yes, I know that's pretty common). After trying a multitude of plugins and mix tricks, I added DSM V3 with a spectral capture from a Venus Theory YouTube video and WOW! I was still hearing my voice, but imprinting the tonal balance did improve what I was hearing by leaps and bounds compared to my original recording (even after having tried similar "tonal tricks" like Ozone's matching EQ) Just demo it with your voice and a spectral capture from a good recording of your favorite movie actor's or podcaster's voice, if it works for you as well as it did for me, at $19.99 (after voucher) it can be a pretty sweet deal (as a side note, another PA plugin that I used in this project was Fiedler Audio Stage, for a nice and subtle upconversion of the mono microphone signal to stereo)
  8. Hmmm... I purchased the "iZotope Everything Bundle Crossgrade from any version of Music Production Suite or Music Production Bundle" from JRR and after going through an intermediate step at getmylicense.ca, I got serial numbers for registering the following Music Production Suite 4.1 BreakTweaker Expanded Iris 2 Trash 2 w/Expansion Packs RX Post Production Suite 6 Expo Audio: NIMBUS R4 Stratus3D Symphony3D I have MPB2 and MPS4 but there was no check for any ownership (and the email I provided to getmylicense is not the email I have at my iZotope account). I registered PPS6 through the iZotope product portal, the new license was deposited into my iLok and none of my older licenses got deactivated. From the info I have found, after having registered PPS6 (and getting Rx9 adv) I don't have much to gain from upgrading MPS4 to 4.1. Is iZotope relying on an "honor code" for my (a) actually having the license to upgrade from and (b) not turning around and trying to resell an unencumbered serial for MPS4.1 for a couple of Benjamins?
  9. Yes, thank you for adding the info to the thread. Just be aware that the soundpool entitlements from MMM are valid only for the non-commercial license (that's why I often forget about them, lol)
  10. Producerplanet has a 50% off sale on Hip Hop soundpools https://producerplanet.com/us/list/chillout-soundpool-sale-50-off-2852/ The interesting twist is that $10 vouchers are on sale from Humblebundle, in the $1 tier for this bundle: https://www.humblebundle.com/software/your-ticket-to-a-new-creative-universe-software (note: the countdown yesterday showed it as ending today, but right now it's showing 14 days left, maybe it got extended?) In the end, for $1 you can get either a) The Commercial version of any of the smaller Hip Hop soundpools (smaller = showing as $9.99$4.99 in the sale page linked above) b) The Non-commercial version of any of the larger Hip Hop soundpools (larger = showing as $19.99$9.99 in the sale page linked above) Note: If interested in more than 1 soundpool, you can purchase up to 3 bundles with each payment method (paypal, amazon, etc) before humble starts rejecting transactions. The limit gets reset after a week. In some cases you can "push the limit" and get transactions approved after entering an identity confirmation, but I recommend waiting for the reset instead of pushing the limit (if you push too much you can end up limited for an extended period of time and including other bundles. I'm talking from experience...)
  11. I started using Levels not long ago and now I'm using it on every one of my projects. It has interesting tools like inter-sample peak metering (if you're not using a "true peak" limiter, is it introducing glitches or distortion? this will tell you right away). Yes, my results are better, it gives me a lot of work and it's forcing me to learn... It does point out areas where to improve the mixing/mastering but, with my limited experience it takes me a bit of time understanding what Levels is saying, how to actually fix it, and whether I should fix it or adjust the settings of Levels instead. Some examples: if the music is low on stereo field, how should I fix it? (if I don't have it there yet, adding a ping pong delay to guitar tracks will help, but more often than not it's not enough) or, if I am making an EDM track and get a warning that my dynamic range is low, what is the right solution? (music for dancing in a club is not expected to have the same dynamic range as other styles of music to begin with, so the thresholds should be lowered in Levels first before making adjustments to the music). Some people criticize that analyzing existing "great" music in Levels will point out multiple issues, and use that test to determine that Levels is "wrong" and "useless" but... (a) quite possibly in those tests they are using the default setting and not adjusting them to match the expected style, and (b) the reason plenty of older music is getting remastered nowadays is because the taste in music production has changed through the years and it isn't really that wrong saying that, judging by modern standards, older music production was lacking qualities that modern listeners are expecting. TL;DR - Levels is a pretty useful tool. There is a bit of a learning curve but it's worth it. If you don't have it yet, it's probably $32.99 well spent
  12. This Weekend - Techno: Euphoric Beats $8.99 for the commercially licensed option (or $4.99 for the non-commercial) https://producerplanet.com/us/article/euphoric-beats-4415/?license=commercial_unlimited This soundpool contains all loops from 'TechnoTrance Vol. 7' of 'Soundpool DVD Collection 2005'.
  13. New Producer Loops bundle at fanatical.com $10 for a bundle of 7 loops/construction kits & 3 sample-based VSTi's. https://www.fanatical.com/en/bundle/beatmaker-sounds-and-vst-bundle Lo-fi, Hip-hop, Trap, 808's
  14. Scanning samples on my machine took 8 days, thank you very much for the heads-up!
  15. Heads-up - For the aax version on Windows you may need to add the install folder to the antivirus exclusion list if you are getting a "not a valid 64-bit plugin" error Note: if you don't want to exclude the entire AAX folder, you can move the crispytuner folder back from the "unused" folder where protools puts all the plugins that fail to load, exclude just that one, and then reinstall
  16. The Besteller Bundle is available for a limited time and includes a selection of popular Soundpools for $39.99 (or $19.99 for non-commercial license), 90% off from regular price https://producerplanet.com/us/article/soundpool-bundle-bestseller-23764/?license=commercial_unlimited The list of soundpools is not specified, but looking at the demo songs and the picture, it seems to include the following Sleep Blues Rock Gods of EDM (part 2) Uptown! (complete bundle) Astral Injection Future Instrumentals (part 2) Big Room Mastercuts Boom (looks like the complete bundle is included) New World Dame Candela (complete bundle) Full On Psytrance For Boom, Big Room Mastercuts, Future Instrumentals and Gods of EDM it is unclear if the complete bundle is included or it is only one part There are 1739 unique loops (9337 loops after accounting for pitch and major/minor variations). Disk requirements are 14.25GB for the compressed version (ogg) Producerplanet has regular sales for 30~50% off and occasional sales for 75% off (weekend wannabee, advent calendar) so, 90% off can be a pretty nice deal if you are interested in soundpools, don't already have these (my case, I already have 8 of them, otherwise I'd have jumped in...), and if you still have around a $20 voucher (fanatical, humblebundle, musicmaker, etc.) Note that vouchers from the current humblebundle cannot be applied because they can only be used for Hiphop, Soul/R&B or Funk soundpools
  17. How can I make my voice sound close to this? II wonder what voice processing chain Cameron is using

  19. The joint sale is up at NI https://www.native-instruments.com/en/specials/komplete/komplete-13-music-production-suite-4.1/ Go to "my Komplete offers" for upg pricing. 20. I have NI Komplete 12 and iZotope MPS 4.0. iZotope will discount the bundles taking into account which iZotope products I have. NI will discount them based on which NI products I have (https://www.native-instruments.com/en/specials/komplete/komplete-13-music-production-suite-4.1/#c974513). But... nobody will provide an upgrade that takes into account having both K12 and MPS4 🙁

  23. In practical terms, Yes. However, people may inadvertently end up paying for it if they're not paying attention Example: 1) Add the free Soundgrid Studio to your account https://www.waves.com/mixers-racks/soundgrid-studio-emotion-st-8-ch 2) Let the 1-year wup expire 3) Get a quote for Wup'ping the Soundgrid Studio, and it's not free, it's $12 (or, if you are wup'ping other products and you forget to uncheck Soundgrid Studio, you will pay for something that you shouldn't need to) 4) Instead of Wup'ping it, "buy" another free copy instead, and you will get in your account both a license for the latest version, with 1-year free wup, and the old out-of-wup version. Activate your new copy and deactivate your old one and the end result is, in practical terms, the same as if you had Wup'ped the old one That's a quirk of the system but otherwise, I do think that getting a free year of wup and then longer wup as a choice, that's not particularly bad. PA, IK, etc charge for transfer fees. Steinberg, Presonus, iZotope, Native Instruments, Magix, etc. they all release yearly non-free upgrades. Wup is simply a (more confusing) variation on those models.
  24. Interesting, it produces a sample map (like the XLN XO map but not restricted to percussive samples). I think this is available in other sample managers but not in the free ones so, not bad for $9.99 $9.29 after FEB2022 coupon (https://www.audiodeluxe.com/products/audio-plugins/waves-cr8-creative-sampler) Update: I just realized that this functionality is from the included Cosmos, which is available separately for free!
