  1. When they first promoted the 12 Days, it stated that there would be a €12 coupon. I don't see that in email or in my account when I log in. If anyone has used theirs or can see how it works, I'd be grateful. Thanks.
  2. I was hoping you'd weigh in on this one (as a Brazilian musician). Excellent point. The instrument of theirs I'd most be interested in picking up is Soniokinetic's Celesta. I already have a few nice celestes (Sound Dust has a couple of nice ones), but it's one of those instruments I'm in love with and even though I haven't used them in many productions, I love to play them.
  3. Joy = the ultimate return on investment.
  4. In all seriousness, Rain Piano is very good. I've had it since the original version, which goes back more than a decade. It's an upright piano with a lot of character/charm. For under $8 USD, I would consider it a no-brainer for anyone who owns the full version of KONTAKT.
  5. Welcome back, Larry! I just checked out the pictures and it looks beautiful.
  6. Wait, I have a pretty nasty case of COVID and a bit of a fever, so this may just be some kind of COVID-related delusion, but it seems like I've just witnessed two very positive reviews from you today. Or was it all a fever induced dream?
  7. "I'm really happy that InMusic has bought..." Only an influencer can say that line with a straight face. Note that he does a little dance around the presets being disappointing (he gives viewers a heads up that the presets aren't very good). InMusic has yet to significantly improve any software it has purchased and it has had a lot of time with AIR and BFD and it doesn't appear to have made any of them much better after purchasing them. I wouldn't be as blunt if this were a small player, but this is one of the largest players in the industry.
  8. @Kreveta Puket maybe you can update this thread to let us know how you are doing and to receive encouragement from the group. As you can see, we care about you and are cheering for you to get better.
  9. You should share your tracks in the song section. I know when you once did share a song, I really enjoyed it.
  10. UJAM is aimed at very different users than Orange Tree Samples. UJAM targets hobbyists -- a younger demographic-- who are looking for instant gratification and are not as concerned with creating their own custom parts. In short, you can fairly say that UJAM targets hobbyist users satisfied to use loops and Orange Tree Samples targets advanced amateurs and pros who prefer to play and create their own unique progressions, strumming patterns, licks, riffs, etc. OTS has a far higher bar for sample instrument realism than UJAM. UJAM Virtual Guitarist line uses loops of strums, so there's no way for a user to make custom or customized patterns. Personally, for the loop-based approach, I think Native Instruments Session Guitarist line is the best option of the two (UJAM vs SG). But this deal is 10 bucks, so it feels like an unfair comparison at that price point (while it's not at its regular price). DISCLOSURE: I have consulted to OTS, Pettinhouse, SonicCouture, 8Dio, Kirk Hunter Studios and many other sample and plugin developers in past years on branding, product development and marketing strategy. I haven't done paid consulting to OTS in more than a decade, so this disclosure is probably unnecessary, but I want to be as transparent as possible.
  11. I'd opt for a drive version if it were available too. However, I can't imagine that NI is going to bring back drives for KOMPLETE. It costs them far too much to have their software and sample libraries on a drive compared to the cost of data transfer. I believe NI did an announcement about no longer packaging KOMPLETE on drives. This isn't the most polished version of NI's policy, but it is to the point: "Physical hard drives of Komplete bundles are no longer sold." https://community.native-instruments.com/discussion/18801/option-to-have-hdd-or-ssd-included-with-purchase-of-komplete-14
  12. Yeah, I do wish file sizes were more reasonable with detailed, multiple mic libraries. I get that pros care about all the different mics, but I'd prefer if every one of the huge libraries due to multiple mics had a one mic download version option too. I recently bought Spitfire Originals Firewood Piano. It only has three velocity layers but a bunch of mic options. I'd rather have better dynamics than mic options.
  13. For me, small devs doing propitary players, it's another plugin to install, learn and maintain. I have a fair degree of confidence that NI will maintain KONTAKT 5 years from now, I don't have that confidence for a small dev, and I've told that to bunch of KONTAKT devs that have transitioned to making their own players. The other way I look at libraries, especially piano libraries, because I have a lot of them, is, does this really bring something to the table I don't already have? I'm not sure that these libraries do and the miniscule Lite version wouldn't seem to give me a realistic idea of the full library. The price is super appealing. The crackling isn't. How do you think this would fit in singer/ songwriter and folk rock productions? BTW, I only have Embertone Walker D Lite, but I love it (I like it so much I never felt the need to buy the full version). I have all of the XLN pianos and electric pianos, but to be completely candid, I find them significantly inferior to my favorite KONTAKT libraries and rarely use them.
  14. The dev has a bit of a QC problem. Is it 150MB of disk space or 50MB (note the discrepancy between the system requirements and the Full vs Lite comparison chart)? I just can't see anyway to a decent, dynamic piano that's 150MB, and especially not one that's 50MB. The dev could have made his 4GB library smaller (while it states 8GB for the full versionin the chart below, that is the file size for both pianos; again the lack of QC on this is concerning), but there's no way to keep it high quality and dynamic and still get to that small of a file size when you're only using sampling and not modeling. I think he should have done what SonicCouture did and took away some details, but still kept it great quality. I'm not even going to bother downloading it when it's been reduced by that much. Beyond the tone of non. stretched samples it seems a waste of time. I also can't imagine someone even paying $19 for a 50MB piano library in 2023. Nope. Head over to SonicCouture or SoundPaint and get a detailed free piano for free.
  15. In case anyone picks up that my posts are devoid of humor and have even more typos lately,I came down with a nasty case of COVID and have a fever, burning, headache, aches... usually when I get sick my sense of humor remains. Hopefully, it will return after my headache goes away. I swear, it's usually a key part of my personality.
  16. It seems to use the NI Session Guitarist approach of loops for strums and single note mutisamples. Sounds cool. I'm a huge fan of the sounds from that era of R&B.
  17. We need someone with the brutal honesty of Carl Ewing or jngnz to review this thing. Influencer faux reviews are useless. People getting free product, looking for more free product, sponsorship for their channel and direct cash are pitch people, not reviewers. That said, influencers are still incredibly important to developers in this industry, they do get people to buy stuff.
  18. One thing I did notice -- after I made the initial post -- is that the Lite version is only 150MB. This is a sampled piano, not a modeled one, so at 150MB compared to the full version at around 4GB, I would imagine that this is probably only one velocity layer or two where not every one of the 88 keys is sampled. Even $19 USD seems high for such a tiny sample library. So my instinct is that the developer just made this version for promos. But for those not concerned with detail, or if you have a machine that can't handle a big sample library and you don't own KONTAKT, you may want to download and install this. Personally though, I might download it, but I would imagine the dynamics won't be there, so I would likely only download it to figure out if I like it enough to want to buy the full version. But for detailed sampled piano libraries with multiple velocity layers and round robins, my two lists on this forum has a number of options. This clearly isn't a detailed piano library. But if disk space is at a premium, and so is money, this may be worth downloading. I'd be interested in feedback from people who bought the full version of the two Boz pianos for $29 USD. If they were in the KONTAKT format, I would have bought them. But, unless it's a major player, I'm not a big fan of small sample developers who encase a sample library in a proprietary player.
  19. Boz Digital Labs Christmas Sale - the recently released New York L 1926 Lite virtual piano plugin for Win & Mac (reg. $19.00) is available as a free download until December 31. "The NYL 1926 has a warm and rich tone that fills its cozy space, creating a perfect setting for expressive and intimate solo piano pieces. However, it also has some unique and charming imperfections that add to its personality." • Full, Resonant, Growly • 4 Mic Positions • Small, Intimate Room System Requirements MacOS 10.13 or greater (Intel or Apple Silicon) Windows 7 or greater Disk Space: 150MB RAM: 8GB I can't help but note that small 150MB size of this compared to the full version -- except that the full version page doesn't list a file size, however, the bundle of their two grand pianos indicates a disk size of 8GB. So this is not a modeled piano, but a sampled piano (edit: someone has stated that the dev claims to use modeling in addition to samples, but at 4GB for the full version, I would consider this to significantly be considered a sample library housed in a proprietary player. I would imagine that the lite version would not have many dynamic layers to be at 150MB compared to its full size counterpart, which I would guesstimate is around 4GB. But it's free and it is likely to appeal to those who don't own the full version of KONTAKT as the library is delivered in Boz's player. https://www.bozdigitallabs.com/new-york-l-bundle-lite/
  20. I was just about to post something very similar. NI had a significant price drop for KONTAKT Player for developers for free libraries that, I believe, occurred during version 6. That led to many developers deciding to to release freebies for KONTAKT Player, some of course, didn't arrive until version 7 was introduced. I think the pricing change for developers was a very smart idea on NI's part, as they've significantly increased the amount of DAW users who have experienced using KONTAKT and a KONTAKT sample library, so it starts a relationship between NI and many users that didn't exist prior to the change. On the user side, it means people who don't own - - including those who can't afford -- KONTAKT can now enjoy freebies that were historically only for those who owned the full version of KONTAKT.
  21. That's a great deal. Arturia is a top notch developer, IMO, consistently excellent. Thanks for reporting back so others -- including me -- can know this shop is legit.
  22. Nice to hear from you, Mira. You are missed. I hope you are back to full health soon. My wife has COVID-19 right now too and I'm taking care of her, but fortunately, it's a mild case. Please keep us updated. You're in my thoughts. - Peter
  23. I think it's a bit of escape from everyday pressures, at least it is for me. It's a place to nerd out on everything music-related and though we're spending our time here talking gear, music is the common bond here between us, regardless of what genres everyone is into. I wish this same group ventured into the song section and we all shared our music more often. I'd love to hear what everyone is doing musically. I'd suggest people check out that subforum. It's an encouraging little group.
  24. I suspected Google results could have led you here. The forum does pretty well with Google. I was just playing your Loft Piano (for KONTAKT) last night. I love the vibe of that library and it's a bargain. For anyone looking for an upright that sounds ordinary, but in a really cool way, it's under 20 bucks and has a lot of very nice presets.
  25. @Echo Sound Works I'm one of your customers and was just curious how you discovered this thread. Developers seem to be posting at this forum a bit more recently and I'm wondering if you found out about the thread from googling, social media or another customer?
