  1. Very enjoyable tune and performance Mark. I really really like that cello which fits in so well. Kind of surprised it isn't heard more in music outside of orchestral pieces. Had no idea there was a "whoo" in TTS. -Bjorn

    Unsung Hero

Lynn, I can recognize one of your songs not just from your terrific voice but also because there's so much creative stuff going on in the background. Well done there. I especially like the theme that starts around 0:32 and same with the piano accompaniment around 1:54. The lyrics tell a good story about someone who's usually not the main subject of a song. Overall, great job on this. -Bjorn
  4. Very enjoyable melody and very well played. -Bjorn
  5. This is just outstanding Jerry. I was looking at the score sheet (31 parts!) with all the different clefs for different instruments (12/8 time too) which is a whole other level from what I'm used to. Do you keep notes on articulations you've used? Velocities, modulation wheel settings, CCs, other MIDI stuff? Makes me wonder if writing a MIDI orchestral piece is way harder than writing for a traditional orchestra. _Bjorn
  6. That was a lot of fun . Thanks for asking me to do the video, Steve. -Bjorn
  7. Excellent song and performance (as usual). Love the guitar. Accompaniment sounds just right. I don't think you need the falsetto ooo's at the end. Kinda took me out of it, but that's just me. A+ -Bjorn
  8. Nigel I don't see why the video would be banned on YT. Probably was decided by some robotic filter of theirs. Anyway, just another well polished and produced video from Divine Lie. Very well done! Sad to say I thought those were clips of Portland, Oregon from a couple of years ago. -Bjorn
  9. Makes for a great lullaby Wookie. I like the purring synth in there. -Bjorn
  10. Mark, excellent take on a classic, sending it off in a whole new direction. Impressive vocal! Pink Martini once did a minor key version of "Que Sera, Sera" which made the song sound pessimistic and even a bit menacing. -Bjorn

    Fragile

This is really good, Treesha. The bouncy background contrasts with your vocal and lyrics in kind of an unsettling way and that's a good thing. Well, that's just how it struck me. Nice job! -Bjorn
  12. Thanks everyone. I appreciate the comments.
  13. Harney County I like to go out to the Malheur Natl Wildlife Refuge which is in Harney County, Oregon. I should have titled the song after the refuge and not the county but the lyrics were already recorded so I left it alone. I took the photos and videos. Song written by me and performed by Dave Orleans. This video is 10 years old and could use some updates I suppose. -Bjorn
  14. Thanks for the comments Jack and Nigel. I'm never sure if a melody I come up with is original or if I'm subconsciously plagiarizing some obscure tune I heard years ago. -Bjorn
  15. Sounds real good to me, Kjetil. That little hand clapper every other measure or so is a little distracting but that's probably just me. -Bjorn

Well, I didn't expect that topic at all, Jack. Made me laugh. -Bjorn
  17. Nicely done and yeah I've heard and enjoyed several songs from Jeff on this forum. 👍 -Bjorn
  18. I like it. Good to hear a new Christmas song now and then. Can't wrap my head around Christmas in summer, like in Australia. -Bjorn
  19. Backporch on a Summer Afternoon This song doesn't sound familiar to a few people I asked and Shazam doesn't recognize it so hopefully it's original. It makes me think of a summer afternoon on our backporch a few years ago. Wish I could relive that day but I'll settle for the memory. Thanks for listening/commenting. -Bjorn Electric Sunburst Kontakt factory library bass Ample guitar

    Morpheus

Thanks Steve. Good suggestion. There's a book (Music, The Brain, And Ecstasy) that talks about the feeling one can get when listening to certain music passages that I can relate to. It's similar to taking a drug, but safer and with no side effects. -Bjorn

    THE WITCH

Sounds really good Steve. And I like how the lyrics are open to interpretation by the listener. -Bjorn

    Morpheus

Thanks Jack. It's interesting how listeners can react to music so differently. My take on this song is almost opposite to yours. -Bjorn
  24. Judging by the quality of Passion Flute and Mesa Winds (outstanding!) I'll probably get this one too.

    Morpheus

Morpheus the god of dreams and sleep This isn't really a song I guess, just sounds that appeal to me for some impossible to explain reason. I like to bend notes and add in lots of reverb and delay to achieve that nice opium den ambience. Thanks for listening/commenting. -Bjorn
